SO FEVER, kimi omoi, NEVER GIVE IT UP etc. are the usual clichés she'd have put out 10 years ago. I can definitely see why they didn't release them traditionally. Not to mention they're all demo quality at best. HOTEL is pretty middle-of-the-road for me, but aside from the ballad they at the very least aren't total clones of songs she's released before lol

BlackSilence 3rd September 2014 03:56 PM

Also i really am not "buying" all the sexy crap she does, it simply does nothing for me, i think one of the reasons i enjoyed Bon Voyage was that it wasn't anything of the sexy side but more like "cool" "quirky". I think it suits her. There's way too much sexy these days anyways lol

happiholic★ 3rd September 2014 05:37 PM

I think the quality of the Legend Live songs/videos suited what they were being used for. And I think So Fever was really good. I love Kuu's brand of sexy. I used to think it was gross and trying too hard, like every other Western act. Until I realized that she's actually quite unique in Japan, as her kind of sexy isn't really seen as sexy. She doesn't fit that lolicon look Japan has a hard on for. Rebel Kuu!

Gustavopc 3rd September 2014 06:12 PM

I also think there is a "demo-ish" sound on the LEGEND LIVE songs, like even tho I adore SO FEVER I also think it misses a bit of a bass or something more on the instrumental, it sounds pretty bland when she's not singing or moaning during some parts.

Also talking on LEGEND LIVE, do you guys know if there was a photobook alongside the promo CD+DVD they distributed during that event? Her shoots for the Pachinko machines are always amazing, but I've seen just two or three different pics of this edition and just one (which is in the first post of thread) in HQ...

Corvina 3rd September 2014 09:23 PM

No, there isn`t a photobook, just a big flyer.
Guess the exclusive songs and all those goodies (scarf, wine) were expensive enough. ;)

I don`t think, Kimi Omoi and NEVER GIVE IT UP sound like demos.
I actually think both are really well produced. I agree with SO FEVER though.
It`s nice to listen to, but there is something missing. Could be so much more addicting.

Oh my, I just love NEVER GIVE IT UP so much, song and PV! <3

Minttulatte 3rd September 2014 09:34 PM

I still find all three new PVs awesome. I got nothing bad to say about those. :p

Kuu looked gorgeous in the PV, from start to finish! :heart The song itself is such a lovely ballad & I positively love it. :) :heart

I KNOW RIGHT!?! I just cant stop listening(and watch) to this flawlessness

rough translation thanks to mishidabo:

Spoiler:
I THINK OF YOU (Kimi omoi)

I get uneasy when morning comes
So i hold on tight to you
When the moon shines through the curtains
Just a Little bit more
I hold on to this wish

They say the word“forever”
Usually never come trues
But if Im with you
I can see the real eternity

This feeling gives me strength
So today when i miss you
I reach my hand to this bright future
And close my eyes again

When i'm under the night's spell
My love for you grows stronger
when you can say your true feelings
You understand the true meaning of love

Just to see you smile
Makes me this happy
thats the gift of the miracle of meeting you
Because i believe our encounter
Has a precious meaning to it.

This feeling gives me strength
So today when i love you
I reach my hand to this bright future
And i can grasp this grand happiness

And in our future
Of you and me close together
Rather than loneliness
There’s a rainbow full of joy

This feeling gives me strength
So today when i miss you
I reach my hand to this bright future
And close my eyes again

This feeling gives me strength
So today when i love you
I reach my hand to this bright future
And i can grasp this grand happiness

there might be mistakes cuz its like 1 in the morning and im tired as fuck

I'm waiting for her to do a best album of just her generic sounding ballads. kimi omoi can be the lead single.

Btw I just can't see MONEY IN MY BAG being a Bling Bling Bling ~to the future~ as people are saying, it's a dance track and not trying-to-be-hip-hop-but-even-Kuu-knows-that-the-song-doesn't-have-a-defined-style-so-she-sings-a-rockish-version.

*high five*

I agree with the 'money is my bling' thing people are pulling together. Totally get where they're coming from with the comparison, but it doesn't really stand up all that well at the same time.

what happen with aikatharsis3.wordpress?

Honestly, I feel like the second that an artist who dabbles in many genres, such as Kuu, "recycles" a genre they all get compared and accused of being the "same old". Despite that there are many artists who only make one genre of music.

Lol, what kind of genre would you even classify Bling Bling Bling and MONEY IN MY BAG as. For me, it's classified as?

MONEY IN MY BAG - Patty-cake trash can
Bling Bling Bling - ghetto-style clown music

Thank God for the DH remix of Bling though - that version is WICKED!

Minttulatte 4th September 2014 10:20 PM

How about just calling them urban pop if you want to classify those songs? I just call them that and that's all. :p

kaled kalil 4th September 2014 10:29 PM

MONEY IN MY BAG is kinda of urban electro-pop and Blingx3 is hip-pop imo.

I'm waiting for Kuu doing a song that is 100% electro-pop, like Namie's Ballerina.

Zeke. 4th September 2014 10:44 PM

But urban pop would be ima sugo hoshii, amai wana, candy, get it on, black cherry, etc.

Bling and MONEY are too obscure and horrible to just be classified as such.

Ballerina is a genre called "Complextro". Electropop is like Kyaripamyupamyu, capsule, and Perfume.

I don't view ima sugo hoshii as urban pop, but the rest I do.

(She needs more songs like this)

happiholic★ 5th September 2014 09:01 AM

Since I don't think Hotel was ever shared here in 320kbps, I uploaded it to my SoundCloud to for those of you still waiting!
