I think it's funny that you guys are saying that the goods are not "Japanese enough." It's very reductive to think that Japan is basically kimonos, colorful things, and geishas. I bet she's going to deliver her own vision of the country she was born and raised in, and it might not be what you're all expecting.

But what does more Japanese even mean? Japan has both traditional and modern influences so maybe Ayu is more focussed on the modern Japan idea. We haven't even seen the whole lot of goods yet either so perhaps she'll surprise us with some different traditional themed goods?

IMO they made the ugly logo look good by pairing it with simple images.

Yes! I did not like the logo when it was released but it bothers me a lot less on these goods.

I wonder if the Made in Japan is meant to refer to her debut rather than traditional japanese elements. I definitely get A Song for XX vibes from her shoots at the moment.

That pamphlet picture is amazing :luv2 I hope the album cover will be similar.

These goods are awesome!

This so much.

This concert is based on her view and feelings, not on how the world sees Japan.

truehappiness 6th May 2016 06:58 PM

Ooo, pretty.

Some people are not really in tune with the "vibe" Ayu gives off, tbh.

Exactly! Totally agree with both of you.
I'm more interested in how the album is going to sound than with the art concept of it (since I don't really expect anything edgy coming from her anyway).

did people notice this just now? It was clear with the first pic she posted with the lyrics.

truehappiness 6th May 2016 08:06 PM

From the lyric posts, it's about half Numero, half MADE IN JAPAN tour stuff.

In which case, I wonder... will the album be something different? Or is Numero for the album? Ayu, buck your trends!

Right? Apparently her being Japanese doesn't cut it lol

To me this screams 80s and 90s era in Japan which is how she was raised. I'm excited to see what her interpretation of "MADE IN JAPAN"!

I am getting shirt B! :love

No need to lecture me on my taste lol.

It's great that there are people who like this. To me, there is just no defending that monstrosity of a logo. I thought cirque du minuit was bad but this is just on a whole different level. The sparkle treatment on the text? Hideous. She should have just stuck to the plain font that was used months ago.

truehappiness 6th May 2016 08:34 PM

I don't think it is that bad.

Mostly because we had stuff like Cirque de Minuit before which was just... WHY? Ayu kind of hit a new low with that one since it was kind of lifted from a fan design anyway.
