I had this exact exact problem too when I tried to buy ticket for the Countdown. They require a local cell phone number because they text you a verification code, and I also could not get past this. I also wasn't sure if my credit card would work, but I never got to that part anyway. Very frustrating for sure after being able to successfully buy a ticket for サイゴノトラブル and Music for life - return since they used Mumo streaming. Avex knows we're willing to throw money at them, it just goes against basic business sense to cut yourself off from a huge portion of the market that they have already cultivated.

I really think this all has to do with some exclusivity agreement with dTV. Probably aces don’t even get ticket sales money. They probably get some flat lump sum from dTV and that’s it. All the streaming costs are on dTV too and ticket sales go to cover than and attracting new customers to use their platform. Since they are linked with Japanese mobile carrier and offering services for people in Japan if I am not wrong they just don’t care about people residing abroad.

Or it can do with the fact that copyright of other streaming services in Japan really sucks and dTV has a strong security. In that case aced probably wants to have control over the content. No archive this time might also be connected to the fact that CDL leaked in good quality quite soon after archive opened up to public.

I suspect tax laws have a lot to do with it as well. Some countries have such complex laws when it comes to processing payments from foreign sources, some companies simply decide it's not worth the hassle.

I've learned about a way to bypass the mobile registration part. Well, not me but I found those tweets of a TWICE's fan that explain it. I've learnt from them that you can have a global docomo account. Also my credit card got accepted in the following step. I got a vpn too, they have a 30-day refund policy so if it doesn't work at least I can get this money back. The test video worked so I hope all will be fine. Still, the risk is there but if you want to try - now you know the way :)
