I did get a ningyo-hime vibe from the preview, but after hearing the full version, it's two completely different songs...one of which sounds WAY better.

:roflmao No wonder! I kept wondering that I've heard some of the guitars somewhere haven't I? They can blend right into Ningyo Hime! It'll be awesome for Ayu and Koda to do a medley of these two songs. :luv2

I never thought Ningyo Hime until it was brought up in this thread. Strangely enough I did think "Humming 7/4". I really don't know why... it isn't too similar. Perhaps just the structure of the song, the vocal style?

I liked 1 LOVE, minus the silly JUST ONE LOVE English. I love her rock songs, but unfortunately I don't think it's her strongest! Unfortunately it may have been a bit spoiled for me because Rina Aiuchi did a song stylistically similar to this called V.I.P. http://download.yousendit.com/478E907710899CA1 (hard rock song) and then there is Kumi's "Ningyohime" (which I don't think SOUNDS the same, but again, the style is the same). So unfortunately I got the "it's been done before" feeling :( You know what though, the beginning of 1 LOVE reminded me of hitomi's songs! Still~ I do love the guitar solo in this.

Yes hotness.. much hotness during AT07 with some pole dancing and awsome outfit..
The song is so awsome it is the first Ayu song I have ever put as a ringtone on my cellphone if that gives you any idea.. :)

I don't think it sound like Ningyo Hime. Sure, there's the beginning heavy guitars, but that's quite common in heavier rock songs and it's more the overall feel to it. I mean, I can name few Gackt and Jrock songs that sounds similar to 1LOVE as well.

Yeah.:P Heavy rock LOVE this sort of arrangement.There're nothing special with it. People should try not to be so sensitive.

I love 1 LOVE alot, but... Uh! Oh! I caught a few beat that Ayumi's used in About you. Haha... I'm cool with that. 1 LOVE actually have a few beat similar to About you if you ever notice. Maybe it's just me! *Shrug*

Well, the thing was this time when listening I heard parts that ALMOST made me like it until something else completely ruined it.

Although it'd be nice if it could grow on me, because this is her worst song since girlish (I mean... there are worse songs than girlish - this being one of them - just they came before Duty. Well, okay, Because of You kind of sucked too).

I think its terrible! It's not nearly as heavy as I thought it would be. It's so bland. Bleeeh.

I preferred the preview. I think I only like the chorus.. and ningyo hime is good

i'm just a little surprised that a few people really hate this song haha
but it doesn't matter, cause everyone has their own tastes, and ayu always finds a way to satisfy
1 LOVE is the best song on the album, hands down
the whole rising in anticipation until the chorus is just amazing
and there's no engrish

I love 1LOVE (no pun intended). The chorus' melody has an addictive tempo that I find really catchy. I thought the preview sounded great enough, but the full version is a hundred times better.
