In cold cash?... Like she brought it in a suitcase, like they do in movies when they pay ransoms or pay for drugs?

That's not completely true, most actors have more than one house (one on each coast, to cover all their bases). Price-wise, land is very expensive in Japan due to the fact that it is an island. It's comparable to owning an apartment in New York City. Just to put things into perspective, there's a rumor going around the city that Tom Cruise is planning on paying $20 million for a 4 room apartment in one of the exclusive residences.

What's a "5-storey bungalow"? Aren't bungalows only supposed to have 1-storey?

Hmm, this could be a translation issue. I'm not completely sure. I do know that in Japan, an apartment is called a mansion, so it might be that sort of discrepency.

When in Singapore to attend the MTV Asia Awards in 2002, she splurged on a $1,000 lobster and crab feast at Newton Circus for her entourage of 20.

Not only does she travel with 10 bodyguards, but she once flew her five pet dogs with her to Korea for a job, together with their own entourage of 12 pet groomers.

Also, she reportedly employs five personal masseurs to take charge of different parts of her aching body.

What's the problem with that? She can do whatever she wants with her money, she's not stealing lol

Apparently, the house thing is true.

Actually the house thing is true - the bank wouldn't give her a mortgage because it seemed that her position in the entertainment industry and her profession didn't give her enough financial security to keep up the repayments for a property if they gave her one. So she was forced to pay for the house in cash.
It seems very understandable.

Oh my god!!! This is like so cool! This tabloid does the exact opposite for me, it makes me like her even more! What a bad ass, Ayu! (but it is most likely not true)

kayokyokufan 6th March 2007 06:05 PM

I believe that Ayu has the financial power to make such large purchases, but I'm not so sure if I believe that she caused such a ruckus at these hotels. I mean, I don't doubt that she enjoys the good life, but I don't know if she would trash a hotel suite. That seems a bit much.

OOOOkkkkkk what's up with Chow Yun Fat's face on there? the article as nothing to do with him. and this article is all based on assumptions and rumors. interesting though XP

Umm, indeed they do, but I was talking about the average price of a single one.

Then in that case, the Hollywood stars still do spend a lot on houses. The average is definitely higher than a few million judging by the selling prices of their houses.

It is dissapointing to hear of Ayu's "diva-like" traits, but this isnt the first, nor will it be the last article written about this.

To believe that she is some kind of angel is foolish indeed. I like Ayu for her music, and music alone ;)

Impracticable 10th March 2007 10:24 PM

Err ... everything sounds pretty believable, except i dont think Ayumi would get nasty the way they described. it kind of contradicts itself.

Ayu: Your a ***** i hate you! Go back to japan your out of my entourage
Entourage Person: There .. are no flights back to Japan ...
Ayu: Oh, then i will pay 100,000 dollars to get one for you :]

honestly. does that even make sense?

and if she broke something, im sure she would pay for it unless it really wasnt her who broke it!

Bt, she was in HK for a movie opening. Hekll, i would throw a hige party. and i would buy everyone food!

And what the hell is so damn bad about buying food for people! or loving her dogs? hell, she is giving people jobs, right? thats a GOOD thing. lowers unemployment rates.

this is completely biased. i think it is most likely true.

just exagerated and biased.
