Her name is Alan because her Chinese stage name is pronounced as A-Lan (阿蘭/阿兰), which is derived of from her real name, which is Alan Dawazhuoma (阿兰·达瓦卓玛). ^-~

Hmm....well, I don't think she'll sell a whole lot since it hard for foreign artist to sell in Japan. Look at RAIN...he has plenty of good and sellable songs but they sold no quite as well as BoA! :weep (Am I even making sense right now..lol)

i just asked because i thought it was strange they'd release a CD+DVD ver. of an unknown (to us anyway.) artist.. so i thought maybe Avex expect this to be a hit? |
^Avex needs to promote their new artist a lot if they want them to make it in the biz. They spend way to much time promoting their big artist and never on the newcomers or low sellers. If it was for Ayu...they'd prolly be nothin'!

IMO Avex does a lot of promoting. Satomi Takasugi has huge promotion for her debut single.
it's just that Avex & any label won't promote an artist if they suspect they won't get the sales they expect in return, and when the artist is established with their fanbase they won't need as much promowork as before. |
Eh... the high-pitched voice gets on my nerves... I dunno how much commercial success she'll have but best of luck to her.
