I thought at first it was the Copy Control code that took up so much space on the cd, but her ayu-mi-x 5 is cccd, and it has what so many tracks on it.

Then I thought it was her rivalry with that blasted Hikaru. Hikki only did like two remixes per cd single. Ugh, well. If no more ayu-ro's, cyber trances, or ayu-mi-x's, I'll be mad. Just as long as I get the remix albums im okay. :o

It's because it's a waste of money. And most of the remixes on singles were crap anyhow. There was no point to them.

Ayu should just keep going with Ayu Trance. But Trance 2 & 3 sucked. She needs another good remix. They should get Earthbound.

The wonderful world of J-pop!

With declining sales of music (I think Japan is suffering this along with America), and the fact that Japanese kids (and adults) have more things to spend money on (cell's, cameras, computer), which makes spending money even more shallow.

Singles with a lot of remixes tend to cost more, which doesn’t look attract if you just want a single for a song. Singles promote albums. And if your album isn’t promoted, then no one will buy it.

Not only that, but some singles tend to get repetitive, If you hear the song 5 times on one single, your going to get more bored with the song then a single with the song only 3 times. =\ This probably doesn’t even come to mind to aver and company.

And I don’t think there will be another ayu-mix type cd until a new album is released, you cant do too many remixes with a mini-album. Using the same old songs is pretty repetitive.

I think it costs a lot to hire remixes constantly, I mean Ayu is the only artist I have heard of that has so many remixes per CD, remixed by different remixers for that matter. The only other artist that has that many remixes on their singles is MOVE and I believe they remix em themselves. It might be lack of interest within Avex. Well, as long as she keep producing remix albums I'm O.K. ^o^

I'm satisfied with 4-track singles. At least we're not getting two track singles like the recent Hikki one...o.o
Yeah, no kidding, that one was just a crime. >.> They put little or no remixes on a single, and yet they don't lower the price...hmm. But I suppose that would defeat the purpose of cutting remixes to save money, and then charging less...but I guess it would be all because of money that they're doing this. I'll be happy if they still put out at least one new remix album in the near future...maybe after Ayu's new album comes out? Whenever that is. :P

I disagree - her songs remixed was like the song in a new light for me, and it made it all the more cooler.. I especially enjoyed the strangely remixed ones, it kept the song playing in my fav songs list.

Songs I am bored of would be songs like forgiveness, which has no remix at all, Moments, which only has one (excluding that acoustic stuff), and all the Memorial address songs.... Once ayu-mi-x 6 pops, I'm sure they'll be favorites again (if there is going to even be an ayu-mi-x 6).

:dead2

Nu-NRG 15th July 2004 03:46 AM

^ yea!!!AND for some reason i think the next ayu-mi-x 6 will have 2 disc or even more like ayu-mi-x 2 or 3 because of Memorial address+ unknown album that's like 30+ tracks.......I HOPE!!! :yes
and ayu-trance/ayu-ro mix will be a new song + selection kinda album like ayu-mi-x 4

avex seems like they're short on the cash...i mean like every artist having a single to remix by some 7-8 djs is really something that needs to look after of...especially now everywhere have this depression on the music industry and where do they get all this money to pay them?
artists' SINGLES/ALBUMS/REMIX ALBUMS to get cash from..
so instead they invest it on newer artists to get more money.....and removing those remixes from singles or even cuts out un need it things...now i duno what that is but these are just my $0.2

i MISSED ayu's singles with those 13+ tracks remixes thats like her trademark :cry i wish ayu can go back to that in the coming days :(
i loved remixes and some i even prefer it more then the original version...(KANARIYA!!! is one of them) or maybe i'm a trance fan

I think to make up for the lack of remixes her singles are just going to include a DVD feat. a PV instead. :think

Money... But I think she knows that people get tired of too much remix

no_way_to_say 19th July 2004 02:14 PM

i think the reason why the number of remixes on the singles are much lesser now is because Ayu's singles sells as well without the remixes, now that she is so popular. The remixes were just to capture people's attention at first, but apparently, it is not really needed now because her singles sells as well without them.

But her remix albums are still going (ayu-ro 3, non stop mega 5, ayu-mi-x 5 etc)
so i think those remixes are quite enough.
though sometimes, i might be a little disappointed when her singles have only 4 tracks..
but i guess its alrite because thats how a normal single should be rite?
look at utada hikaru's single...only have original and intrumental....
that would be soooo boring if it was an ayu single.....

P-R-O-F-I-T
AVEX corporation is able to squeeze more money out of the consumer by selling it as a separate package.
They give a taste of a remix on a single and then they release a remix cd in hopes that you the consumer will purchase it.

seriously i think there will be no more remix albums. i am saddened by this, cos it is just these few months that i am totally madly in love with ayu. i miss the 10 track remix singles too. now i am trying to build my complete collection of ayu singles, and i am starting from the 10 track singles and leaving the recent 4 tracks behind :)

LeButler 8th October 2004 09:20 PM

Interesting thread, glad it was revived. It's 16 months old but still relevent with the ever-declining number of tracks on each Ayu single.

Even though including several remixes a single doesn't cost a great deal extra, Ayu is such an established artist Avex probably don't need to include remixes to encourage people to buy singles. The dedicated fans will buy them nonetheless, and they don't loose sales because only real fans buy singles these days anyway.
Also, not putting them on the singles makes people more likely to buy the remix albums.

Although the remixed music is not really my scene, because it's a familiar tune & voice I still love listening to the remixes, especially ayu-mi-x I.

I'd like to see more CD+Extra singles - where the Audio CD has a computer-readable area which includes (in particular) the single's PV.

savage 8th October 2004 09:32 PM

lol old thread again :D

anyways, let's post here haha... I thinkn Ayu didn't released much remixes anymore because she simply knows she cannot have me as a remixer and this made her so sad that she decided to bring out less remixes :P

like yeah rite she cannot hv me as a remixer lol i wish i cud do official remixes for her, wud be such an honor :D

Zesty 9th October 2004 02:08 AM

She's trying to americanize to compete with that darn hikki.

Interesting topic...

It's really sad to see the declining in ayu remixes. But i think avex should have saved enough now to release at least a trance or ayumix album, right? The acoustic classical arrangement of MY STORY has just been released. So I really hope that there will be an ayumix or ayutrance that is on the way. Fingers cross... lets pray...

Joel 22nd March 2005 03:51 AM

proablly that she doesnt want all her remixes to be the same i guess but i dont really no
