Actually I think it was meant to be like this.
They wanted to reinvent a dance troupe into something more profitable - hence a pop band. It's uber hard to find a group of females who are great dancers and at least decent singers. Nicole is a champion, becouse she does both really good and there was no reason or sense to force the dancers to sing, if they couldn't do well. It's just the formula of the band - a group of dancers lead by a vocalist. |
I just find it funny that a lot of people find the other girls unnecessary... but when Nicole tried to go without them on her studio album it totally flopped and never even got released.

On another note...
Does anyone know where I can download an HQ version of the When I Grow Up video?? |

& honestly I dislike her solo stuff it's very boring & bland it's a pity cos Nicole's a very talented singer/dancer , she can do better than that ! |
Hot hot hot hot! God that song is stuck in my head.

Although I do like Nicole's solo material I have to admit it was not anything that awesome, "Whatever U Like" was better when the song was "Straight Jackin'" by Chilli of TLC & Madonna's version of "Heartbeat" sounds just superior to the leaked original demo of the song by Nicole ...
But I think while Nicole is gorgeous & a very talented in both singing & dancing, I feel she severily lacks star appeal & charisma. PCD are just more interesting than just Nicole. I think the new PCD song is hot & I'm really looking forward to their album. I think every PCD single has been great :yes |
I think that Nicole's solo career was pretty much a colossal flop not so much because the music was lacklustre, but rather because it simply lacked a strong or coherent direction. Interscope clearly poured a lot of resources into the album and enlisted essentially every producer who is currently relevant (Timbaland, Pharrel, Polow Da Don, Akon, Stargate, Kanye, the list goes on), but all the talent and money in the world can't really help an artist who has no real vision. Not to say her solo work was bad, but it was just vapid and souless, if well produced. Of course, the same can be said on PCD, perhaps even more so, but the key difference is that they have a very definite identity. There music may be fluff, but Robin Antin obviously has a very specific campy, kitschy, and trashy aesthetic and sound she wants the Dolls to represent. With Nicole on her own though, it was exceedlingly apparent that neither the label nor herself new how to effectively rebrand and market herself as a solo act.

I'm just hoping that there's more original material rather than covers/samples on their new album :yes

Well it's better than girlicious. Looking forward towards the release!

I like it. I think it will only grow on me more with time too, so I'm pleased.

At first I thought the album name was K.J.M.N.A. :tipsy They kinda went overboard with the photoshop.
|
Apart from the fact that Nicole is only wearing a bra (blue?! wtf why not black to match with the rest? -_-;; ) I think it looks pretty cool! :3
