ERIKA has been replaced by Meisa Kuroki for the live action version of "宇宙戦艦ヤマト" (Space Battleship Yamato) out next December. Formal announcement of her dismal is rumored to be out tomorrow.

Who would take her? She went into hiding for her attitude in the first place and that's not going to change. So it will be a recurring problem to handle. Would Avex take her on?

Anyway she is going to be unactive for quite a while in order to let the public "forget" about the dirty stuff. if she comes back I don't think it will be a grand comeback to begin with anyway...

yes i hope she'll come back too.. but she'll have to change her attitude 1st or something. as mentioned, she really has talent in acting... but i think she'll be missing for quite a long while.

well, ERIKA has made a full comeback earlier this year, but the recent news right now is that she's divorcing from her husband. and...she MIGHT be signed with AVEX to make music again! but there's still no official confirmation, so..we must wait.

Dated April 27th, it speaks of her intention to divorce from Takashiro Tsuyoshi, and that the matter is already under the mediation of her family. She also apologises for any inconvenience and worry that she has caused. She then goes on to say that she cannot speak of the details right now.

Things are developing fast now that the big divorce issued got revealed on Sunday and it looks like Sawajiri Erika is really going to proceed with the divorce.

Sanspo claims to have verified the divorce rumor with several industry officials. Apparently she already started to bring up the issue back in September in meetings with her old agency Stardust. In total there have been 3 discussions regarding her divorce plans.

By the way, her mother didn't know about her daughter's divorce intentions either. She was shocked when she heard it on Sunday. "I didn't hear about any problems between the two," she said. People close to Erika, however, said that she is going to meet with her lawyer within the next couple of days and discuss the details regarding the divorce.

It's such a confusing situation with a couple of overlapping rumors. Will there really be a divorce? Will it be a peaceful divorce? Will she sign a contract with Avex? D'oh...
