Somewhat. If a major international artist had debuted a new album in the same week, I don't think we'd be seeing Ayu at the top right now. For example, look at U2 in second place and how much they sold in their 5th week.

it's always crazy to see how much japanese artists can sell when they are exclusive to japan as opposed to say american artists that are on a global market scale...
