never believe anything from Friday...is like appledaily(HK) but a Japan version..
pure rubbish

kirei_ayumi 22nd May 2009 02:51 AM

this is pure craziness!! and yet again, the news with some crap...
for God's sake, ayu is freakin' right, she should be able to walk anywhere she damn pleases...that includes water XD

jbrat2219 22nd May 2009 03:38 AM

Wasn't this Kodansha's event for the book? Since they're the ones who published it... So they should be responsible for clearing the event and making sure proper permission was set in place so the police can take proper measures to secure the public. Just because Ayu happened to show up doesn't mean anything, the event was for her not by her. She should be able to go where she wants. I would love the Japanese Metropolitan police to get a glimpse of what goes on in Hollywood and then complain.

Gus-tave 22nd May 2009 04:29 AM

This is so stupid!
Ayu's completely innocent. She was using the paved area in front of Shibuya 109, not the road!!! Ayu can't help if people stand in the road. I seriously want to write a letter to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police to protest! But I don't think it would even make a difference.

Anyways, I can't believe this. I hate cops.

waterballoon 22nd May 2009 04:45 AM

No no no~

I think it's really silly... like just because she's a celebrity... I mean applying for permission to walk around her country... that's really wtf. She should have equal freedom as any other Japanese.

But again, this kinda shows the impact Ayu still has... I mean she has enough impact to get 8000 fans to create chaos in the streets of Shibuya lol.

Let's hope nothing too serious happens ^^

P.S: Loved how they were playing Days in the 2nd video.

ImpactBreaker 22nd May 2009 04:58 AM

She wasn't "just walking". :rolleyes She was promoting herself and her product. The police is just doing their job:yes ayu isn't really naive, she knows she's a star and that she might drive the public wild. Her excuse isn't really justifiable as she wasn't just "passing by" like a regular person.

Kingdom 22nd May 2009 04:59 AM

wow was her reply kind of snotty, or maybe i misunderstood :dead2

this is pretty dumb tho

pchan1986 22nd May 2009 05:00 AM

*sigh* they just want some mula. but yea her staff shouldve had this prepared. man these people, its not like anyone was ran over during her visit (cough-walmart)

waterballoon 22nd May 2009 05:01 AM

^ Yes, that is right, but I can't help but feel that it's like just sloppy job by:

1) book's Publisher
2) avex.

For one avex SHOULD have informed the police that Ayu is making a surprise appearance so that they could path some barriers around the streets or something.

Moreover, the book's publisher should also have set fences/barriers around whatever area the promotion is going on.

I doubt Ayu would be that free to plan everything as usual... avex can be so sloppy sometimes.

Sundae 22nd May 2009 05:03 AM

Yeah it sucks for her, but she's a major celebrity. People get a little nuts around celebrities. She could have caused a riot and people could have gotten hurt. She could have gotten hurt. She should be allowed to walk around if she wants to but she has such a reaction on people. Then add in to the mix that she wasn't just walking around for pleasure but for business and it gets messy.

Yeah, but who knows, someone could have suffered an accident or the traffic jam could have made it impossible for ambulances passing by to go further. The fact "nothing happned" (as far as we know) doesn't mean you can go around doing such things that can put others under risk. that's like shooting with a gun on the street and saying you aren't guilty because nobody got hurt by the bullets (of course this is a stretch and more serious/threatening example, but yunno..) This was really a irresponsible move.

hmmm you have a really good point!

then again this is avex we are talking about, when do they ever care about anyone other than their company? :roflmao

NintendoHTF1242 22nd May 2009 05:18 AM

Ayu obviously should have let the city know beforehand about this event. Who knows how much traffic was held up and you never know. People could have been ran over, emergency cars would have needed to get somewhere but were blocked, and etc. Although this is a bit extreme on how the police are like, investigating her. Ayu just needs to be more careful with her choices next time.

namiie 22nd May 2009 05:28 AM

Wow, this is nuts. I disappear from AHS for a little while (buried in exams) and when I come back, I see Ayu is in trouble with the law!

Well I don't think this should come as a shock--Ayu is a huge star and obviously she is going to cause a lot of fuss. I realize Japan is different but PRISON TIME seems a bit harsh O_O Avex has crazy lawyers though, so I'm sure this will all blow over (with a settlement fee probably).

Bigtop 22nd May 2009 05:33 AM

Hopefully Ayu and/or Avex and/or Kodansha just pay fines for this, not prison time...

kuri♥ayu 22nd May 2009 05:36 AM

this is seriously stupid. if you really want to blame someone for that traffic jam, you need to blame the organizer or whoever was in charge of the event. Cause it's their job to ensure that everything is properly prepared & runs smoothly. Does ayu really have to double check with her security team and the police to make sure that there aren't any incidents everytime she goes outside to do something? ayu has people to handle this for her.

it's not like she went deliberatly out of her way to cause a problem by setting up a signing booth in the middle of the street.

lfe. 22nd May 2009 06:05 AM

Lol I guess with the recession they are trying to squeeze in as many fines as possible

emi♡ 22nd May 2009 06:06 AM

:rolleyes all Japanese people care about is their damn roads.

Who cares...that was like a million years ago already...

god...I knew we were never going to see the end of that awful outfit :shakeshead

It was a really snotty reply from her, though she is right...

I think it's hilarious that they file against Ayu when...she most likely had absolutely no idea about any street situation...she expects it to be taken care of before hand by her staff and event coordinators.

So now it's on their heads...not hers.

When she appears in event as big as the book realease was and she doesnt anoucces herself the police is not ready for the flood of fans that cover the streets. As a result fans could get hurt in an attemp to see Ayu. The police not being anouced of the event is not ready and doesnt have any security messures for the people there. For example a street overly filled by fans pushing one another to get a glimps of Ayu could end up in fans falling and getting hurt, cars passing could hurt someone (if this was anocced the police would have block the streets preventing cars to pass), without the police being ready for it a feud could come up out of nowhere among fans and so on.

On another point of view the police also needs to think: whats done its done. They cant punish Ayu for something that already happend. They should just leave her alone with a simple warning and tell her that she needs to anouce events as big as book or cds promotional events to the police.

I feel sorry for Ayu. Being famous sound like a lot of trouble sometimes.:(

:yes

I find this curious because i always thought ayu was very aware that her actions creates significant consequences around Japan. I understand that she had no intention of causing trouble and she should be able to walk like normal person on the streets, however, ayu is an "idoru" so her mere presence can cause a lot of movement (worst case "riot") and normal rules cannot apply to her:(. I don't think anything is going to happen to Ayu, she will manage to get out of the problems... not so sure about Avex.

I guess this is the part that makes her career sucks; she can't just go out without making people crazy :dead2 (nothing is perfect...) i feel sorry for her this time :(

emi♡ 22nd May 2009 06:21 AM

^I think she understands that...it's just not her responsibility to take care of crowd control at an event that is not hosted by her directly.

That's the only reason it's ridiculous to persecute her. imo she doesn't need an excuse...there really isn't one, and she shouldn't come up with one either lol...

It was just bad planning by probably a few different people...I hope no one loses their job...but most likely I see a few people getting fired over this lol
