Thanks so much!! you are very awesome to do this!!!

joshohhhhh 9th January 2010 11:38 PM

thanks for the translation. i don't care what the new album sounds like as long as she doesn't destroy her voice.

THANK YOU! This is awesome. I love what she said about "NEXT LEVEL". That's exactly what I knew she was doing with it, just having fun and experimenting. Some people take the album too seriously and can't enjoy it for the fun album it is.

I'm so interested in the new album, I hope there will be more full tracks in it.. I'm expecting more since she starting working on it early. This interview made me happy :D

I knew her new album was going to revisit old themes...

yuki_unmei 10th January 2010 12:30 AM

This is awesome! :D
Thanks for translating, great interview. Can't wait for everything she has planned :yes
(again the things she says answers some of my recent thoughts..how does this always happen x_x wow.)

This is very cool! It's the next best thing to being able to pick up the magazine itself and understand it.

And I'm beginning to feel the new album hype!

KPL 10th January 2010 04:05 AM

You rock, thank you aloooooooooooooooot

Lanz16 10th January 2010 05:00 AM

WAAAAAW!!!
Thanks for sharing!

And you did a good job on editing the whole thing!

SunshineSlayer 10th January 2010 05:31 AM

Thanks for the work. :) She totally sidestepped the questions about other artists. The stuff about pino and papiko were cute though. ^_^

Yeah, kind of hinting at the fact "it's not gonna happen, so let me change the subject now." LOL. Oh Ayu please collaborate with soooooooooomeone. :thud

Small heads-up!!

Thanks to oji-i-san for pointing this out to me!!

Everyone has been talking about how ayu's side-stepping questions about possible collabs with other artists. Problem lies with me, I made an error while translating. :thud

So instead of reading "アーチストと - with another artist", the correct translation should be "アーチストとして - as an artist". So so sorry for all the confusion!! :tired

A new page with the correct translation has been uploaded.

I'm still in the midst of learning Japanese, so if anyone spots any mistakes, do let me know! :P

Once again, sorry for the mess-up. -_-

truehappiness 10th January 2010 11:28 AM

I thought that it was reading kind of weird... especially when her answer had nothing to do with another artist!! Thankfully it got cleared up!

Thanks again for the translation and the correction as well!

Hi all!! Sorry for bringing up such an old thread. But everyone's been referring to ayu reverting back to old times in this album. But rather than to old times, a more accurate phrase would be going back to basics, instead.

The affected passage should read:

Quote:

[NEXT LEVEL] on the whole has been a challenge, in terms of sound and lyrics, as well as vocal approach and mixing. And I could play around them all in a positive way. The next album, which is already in-the-works, has the feeling of basics. A feel of “Hamasaki Ayumi”, less of adventure, and more of digging deep into the basics. But this does not mean that I'm going backwards. It is about how I can express my feelings on the things which I have always liked, but as the person I am, right now.
I've edited the scan and reuploaded it.

Many thanks to oji-i-san for clarifying this issue!!
