Where'd you guys see that the MV airs today?

amorphose 6th June 2010 04:06 PM

^It airs Monday (not sure which time, but probably Monday evening) US EST time. GaGa said so on Larry King right before (or after?) they showed the preview for it~

Is that confirmed? I can't imagine Dance In The Dark as a single... I thought for sure the next single after Alejandro would be Monster..

p.s. Guys, that "mix" in the teasers is just an acapella of her saying Alejandro and then part of the song backwards. I doubt it'll be in the actual MV unless it's at the beginning like Bad Romance. But, yeah... Don't think they'll use a backwards version of a song for an MV.

Mirrorcle Monster 6th June 2010 05:34 PM

I want Monster to be the next single, Dance in the Dark is too strange for a single

U-GO-BOY 6th June 2010 06:55 PM

Dance in the Dark is currently scheduled to be Lady Gaga's fourth single from The Fame Monster, however, this may change. Lady Gaga sent news of this song being a single on May 29, 2010. It was temporarily released on iTunes during November of 2009, but quickly removed because it wasn't set for such an early release. Lady Gaga fought against her record label regarding the third and fourth single releases. Gaga wanted "Alejandro" to be third, but her record label was pushing for "Dance in the Dark". Lady Gaga ultimately won, and "Alejandro" was pushed as the third single.

GRACE 6th June 2010 07:02 PM

DITD isn't likely to be a single. The original Fame Monster commercial showed four songs, and so far three out of the four have been singles.

Order of songs in original commercial:
Bad Romance -> First Single
Telephone -> Second Single
Alejandro -> Third Single
Monster -> Obvious Fourth Single

The release date for Alejandro, according to GGD is June 8th, it's been pushed back to Tuesday instead of tomorrow

AyUta 6th June 2010 08:27 PM

On 94.9, they're giving away a pair of tickets to gaga's concert in my town <3. Wish me luck at 1' clock!

Picaflor 7/4 6th June 2010 08:48 PM

i think the fame monster would be perfect if ever song was a single. i mean it only has 8 songs and there are 4 singles for it, i say she should just go and make the rest singles.

U-GO-BOY 6th June 2010 09:00 PM

I couldn't imagine SHICD or Teeth being a single :X

AyUta 6th June 2010 09:30 PM

Didn't get them, some guy did :/ Oh well :eviltongu

That's true, and it's what I thought, until I realized Dance In The Dark actually has cover artwork which has been out from the beginning as well... so DITD could very well be the next single, since we also have signs for that. Also she's performed both songs on TV so we can't base it on that either.

Both songs have a sign, so we'll just wait and see! Maybe she'll pull of a double A-side, or a different song for a different region or something. Like.. Monster = US single, Dance In The Dark = EU single.

DITD's cover is merely artwork from the TFM booklet with text put on it.

amorphose 7th June 2010 03:11 AM

So wait, Alejandro's video won't air tomorrow? :( It's Tuesday now? Or did I misunderstand?

ストロボ・EdGE 7th June 2010 05:10 AM

Teeth as a single would be so fail.

If anything, Monster would be good as a single anyway, I think. I just really wish Alejandro would be the last and give the world some breathing time for her new album. I already said it, but I think it should be emphasized.. While many, many people like her music, the whole world isn't gaga for GaGa.

So was Bad Romance's and Alejandro's. I'm not saying it to disagree with you, I'm just saying DITD is still a possibility. It's not like it didn't get any "publicity" at all (like So Happy I Could Die, which will never be a single definitely)

But I hope you're right because I really love Monster! It's always been my favorite song of that album. Well.. besides Bad Romance, but that's like my favorite song of all time.

Calico 7th June 2010 12:08 PM

I feel like the only person who really wants DitD as a single. :laugh It's my fave song on the album, and if nothing else, I at least REALLY want a video! I think it would be great for American radio, although it's a little long so they would probably have to edit it.

U-GO-BOY 7th June 2010 02:21 PM

^ me too :)

ストロボ・EdGE 8th June 2010 03:03 AM

So I guess the video was delayed again? It's so stupid and annoying when they do this for every premiere.

amorphose 8th June 2010 03:11 AM

I read on gagadaily that it's gonna be tomorrow for sure, on her official site. I hope they post it at midnight. :weep

zoomzoom 8th June 2010 03:25 AM

I sometimes wish she'd shut her mouth when it comes to release dates of things, it always gets delayed several times. It makes her look unprofessional. :/ Not just with her music videos, but now the 2010-->2011 album too.

I suppose it creates hype around it, but still.

futureLOVE 8th June 2010 03:57 AM

I don't think Gaga herself is responsible for the push backs. She's probably told she can talk about it and say when things are gonna be coming out and then they get pushed back by whoever is in charge of them.

Gaga videos always take me a few views for me to warm up to. This is no exception. I'll probably agree with you all by the end of the week. :laugh

But as of my first impression, "weird" is the adjective I use so often with TFM MVs xD;

A little off topic but OMG I'VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH PEACH SNAPPLE FOR MONTHS AND WHEN I SAW YOUR SCREEN NAME I JUMPED WITH EXCITMENT! Back to Gaga... I wonder what Vigilant Citizen will say about this video...?

Maemi 8th June 2010 07:42 PM

Interesting video. Their hairstyles remind me of Hitler Dx

amorphose 8th June 2010 07:50 PM

^A lot of stuff reminded me of Hitler/the Holocaust... Those dancers that were marching, one of them had a Star of David and one of them had a triangle..? Also, the military guys with the coats and hats, they had red arm bands. It really reminded me of that.

Maemi 8th June 2010 07:56 PM

^ Yeah, the first thing I thought about the video was that it has a Hitler/Nazi theme. I must say I liked those dancers, but disliked their hairstyles :P And who is that random guy at the end?XD And the other one with beautiful eyes? *__*

ll moments ll 8th June 2010 08:19 PM

it was visually stunning! :D i loved the theme and lol, i can't wait for the Catholic Church (or others) to rag on it. :P

but yeah, it's going to have to sink in, like all other Gaga videos. i always love them with more views because i see more! but at least i didn't have the same "WTF" face i had when i first watched "Telephone". :laugh

i thought Gaga herself was very androgynous! i loved her look for this video, though it would probably not look as cool in the real world...or something. idk. haha.

didn't like it that much :no the teasers looked so much better. lol

i don't see it, but in ww2, (the one thing everyone leaves out) is that hitler used triangles on jew's to symbolize they were gay like how they threw david star's on their arms to show they were jewish.

Michan 8th June 2010 09:22 PM

Nya I think Alejandro it is so boring. The video doesn't fit to the music. And she's trying too hard to do something shocking but the video ends with no surprises. It's basically 8 minutes of Madonna wannabe. It's so obvious the copies. The intro was so weak. Just equal of every WW2 movie. Unnecessary 8min for nothing new T-T. Seriously I thought it would be a better and totally different video. Bad Romance and Telephone still the best video's of The Fame Monster.

Calico 8th June 2010 09:43 PM

It was okay, better than I thought it would be, still just okay.

ah no.. they had many different triangles for different characteristics.. if the triangle was pink the man/woman was gay, if it was green they were criminal, etc.

Just watched Alejandro. And gosh I think I need to watch it a few times more to see it in more detail and be able to understand the message she's giving us this time.

I'm a bit scared of where she's going... Somehow I feel she is trying too hard to surprise the audience with her works... She is obviously very creative and knows when to "copy" something and what to copy too. But we all have our limits, and I hope she wont get to her limits too soon.

I thought of Madonna a lot in this video! Is just like deja vu lol

Right now I'm confused by the video and all, so I don't know what to think about it really.

new video is really great. 10000x better than telephone ;)

and it's funny, i wasn't offended AT ALL when watching it, and seeing so many people get all huffy about it (not in this forum--in general) is interesting.

primavera♥ 9th June 2010 02:29 PM

everything in the video seems so ironic to me. with people mentioning the nazi/fascist theme. its awkward because clearly all nazis did was kill gays and try to find ways to "cure" them. and then with the weird upside down crosses which is almost nearly killing the catholic theme. plus that catholics dont necessarily like gays either. and the fact that gaga was being the "dominant" male at times was interesting. . . .

question: are the men grabbing for her in the garb with the upside down crosses supposed to be representing them committing the sort of "sin" of sodomy?

i need an in depth interveiw of her about this. its so awesomely confusing.

primavera♥ 9th June 2010 04:10 PM

^eh. thats an awkward thought. but WWI would be an interesting theme if anyone could pull it off properly

Lady Gaga Gets Serious In "Alejandro" Video
Posted Tue Jun 8, 2010 8:58am PDT by Lyndsey Parker

Lady Gaga--who famously revealed to Barbara Walters in her 2009 "Most Interesting People" interview that she herself is bisexual, and whose hit "Poker Face" dealt with that topic--has long been an outspoken advocate for the LGBT community. She's appeared on the cover of Out magazine, marched for gay rights in D.C., received a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Musical Artist, and headlined/hosted a benefit concert for marriage equality, among other activist activities. When she picked up her VMA moonman at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, she even proudly held it aloft and declared, "This is for God and the gays!" But she has never addressed gay issues as directly or politically in a video as she does in her compelling new clip, "Alejandro.".

In her outlandish past videos, Gaga has appeared in a futuristic wheelchair, pranced around a fiery bathhouse, and embarked on a "Thelma-&-Louise"-style road trip with Beyoncé, but in the just-premiered "Alejandro," she is uncharacteristically serious. The classy black-and-white clip, lensed by high-fashion photographer/Madonna collaborator Steven Klein, is a seven-minute "celebration of my love and appreciation for the gay community, my admiration of their bravery, their love for one another, and their courage in relationships," according to Gaga's June 1 interview with CNN's Larry King, during which she premiered a short teaser of the "Alejandro" video..

Of course, now that the full "Alejandro" is out, we can all see that it's not a blatant political PSA--as with all Gaga videos, it's a piece of performance art, open to interpretation. But the video's vaguely "Rhythm Nation"-reminiscent vibe, not to mention what Gaga described to King as its "homoerotic military theme," could be construed as a creative critique of the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. And the video's wardrobe of nun's habits and other religious imagery could be viewed as references to the Catholic Church's demonization of homosexuality..

The Catholic imagery in particular is reminiscent of works by Gaga's obvious predecessor, the aforementioned Madonna, another pop female whose conflicted feelings about religion have been explored in her own videos such as "Oh Father" and the banned "Like a Prayer." As Gaga told King: "I struggle with my feelings about the Church in particular....in terms of religion, I'm very religious. I was raised Catholic. I believe in Jesus. I believe in God. I'm very spiritual. I pray very much. But at the same time, there is no one religion that doesn't hate or speak against or be prejudiced against another racial group or religious group, or sexual group. For that, I think religion is also bogus. So I suppose you could say I'm a quite religious woman that is very confused about religion. And I dream and envision a future where we have a more peaceful religion or a more peaceful world, a more peaceful state of mind for the younger generation. And that's what I dream for.".

At the very least, the "Alejandro" video is a thank-you gift to Gaga's large and devoted LGBT fanbase, the affectionately nicknamed "Little Monsters" who have helped make her the biggest female pop star on the planet. "The gay community...has been the most enormous blessing of my life, that I have them and their support and the way that they truly understand me and support me," Gaga told King. "My admiration for the gay community comes from an incredibly steadfast and joyful courage and very bravery that they have for one another, for their community. To be gay and to live openly in this society is something that requires a tremendous amount of strength and steadfastness....I celebrate their culture and their union and who they are, in my music, and in my fashion, and in my work, every day. And I will forever.".

Of course, "Alejandro" is controversial and polarizing--no Gaga video would be complete without a little shock value--but by Gaga standards, this video is actually almost downright tame, and this time, she isn't dancing with cans of Miracle Whip or disco sticks or hats fashioned out of princess phones. This time, there seems to be a message behind Gaga's madness. Will people listen to what she has to say? Regardless, this is yet another Lady Gaga video that will be impossible to ignore.

rookies 10th June 2010 09:49 AM

The music video was okay. The song is very good, and I like it much more than the music video.

And lol @ her dressing up like Satan/Lucifer on that white and red, hood outfit. She looked funny, haha.

I believe we'll get at least 1 more single from The Fame Monster, or do you have a source?

The Fame Monster was SUCH a solid album!!!! I was expecting it to be something like Memorial address... with all of the songs with videoclips, or at least most of them! :cry

I guess she's gonna focus on her performances? and maybe writing new music for her next album? (which would be really awesome!)

I feel that somehow Alejandro was a bit scary for the general audience and a step back for her popularity... is just too much :/ I like it, but I understand if people do not like it/hate it... It is really scary in someways...

There are rumours that I seen on E! that Gaga is considering working for Playboy.

FuNsTyLe 10th June 2010 09:44 PM

I hope those are rumors... GaGa would lose points on my chart if she dropped down to working with Playboy~_~

TBH, I'm perfectly fine with the album being pushed back if it means she'll finally get some rest.

Amen! Didn't she say she may have lupus? She should really slow down.

LOL :laugh

PLEASE! Working with Playboy would be "toning it down" for Gaga! She flashed her cooch in two music videos and then simulated a gangbang in Alejandro. Playboy would be nothing lol. But I'd understand why it wouldn't be the most "tasteful" thing to do.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 11th June 2010 02:41 AM

is not a rumor ! she does want to pose for playboy

hahaha I know! she fakes and talks about sex ALL THE TIME, she's had plenty of nude photoshoots but for playboy "OH NO what disgrace!" hahaha.

There are worse things than doin playboy. I think she should do it is a natural progression.

Yeah but if this is true, there will be no mosaic censoring her genitals, and that would be very, very, can't stress enough, very trashy.

Even though I don't necessarily agree with it, she considers that sort of thing like in Telephone and Alejandro "art" and I can respect that, but she should know that soft-core pornographic magazines that 30 year old men *** to like Playboy is not art.

If she did something "artful" like a coffee table book and showed the world all of her goods, I'd even respect that, but PLAYBOY? I hope this isn't true and if it is, well, I'd loose all respect for her.

Censoring your genitals doesn't make it any less trashy in my opinion. We're not dumb, we know what it is. Besides, she's done trashier things. I love Gaga and all but throwing your legs in the air and spreading your naked vagina in some dude's face while in another guy's lap is trashier than anything I've seen in the Playboy spreads. And then climbing jail bars thrusting your yet again naked vagina (censored or not) for all to see, although funny and proving a point, is still trashy. And she only had to do that because she performed with no underwear yet again exposing her vag. xD; I could go on for days about the trashier things she's done so if none of that made you loose respect for her, Playboy will not be the straw to break the camel's back lol. :laugh

And like minkAYuko said, she's already posed nude and I'm pretty sure she exposed her naked breasts as well.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 11th June 2010 07:02 AM

I actually wanna see her naked for real :D

I would actually purchase the playboy magazine LOLOL it would be very good for playboy, and I'm sure they would come up with some really good photos :)

Alejandro PV was a bit weird....but more well put together compared to Telephone. I just think she went a bit far with all the religious/sexual innuendos. Still....she looks kind of nice just plain in that black suit thingy. Toned down from Telephone. I wonder what she does next

ownsarai 11th June 2010 07:36 AM

LOL @ GAGA losing points if she poses in Playboy. Seriously? If anything it would be a lot more tasteful than what she has been doing in her videos/lives/other photo shoots.
And I am very sorry, but the Alejandro video reminds me way too much of Madonna. Three videos in particular come to mind...
Vogue...Express Yourself...Like A Prayer
There, I said it. I'm sure GAGA fans will be flaming me now.

True, and let's not forget Alejandro is made of Mr. President - Coco Jambo, Ace of Base - The sign / don't turn around xD so it matches the video in the "inspiration (like some ppl say)" department haha.
