Remember that certifications in Japan are based on SHIPMENTS, not SALES. Avex has been known to have enormous shipments (especially for the old-timers) so I'm sure she'll get a Gold certification.

Kuu sold 70k with stay with me but it was certified Gold. Next Level was certified double platinum for 500k shipped but it only sold 380k.

And even then, this is only Oricon! Oricon can't count ALL sales. We can be 100% positive that the single has already passed 100k by now, but I agree I'd like to see it reflected on Oricon.

It will probably get certificated gold next month. ^^

I think that it's either avex didn't think it would sell that well (for some reason) or simply they just didn't ship enough copies.

If there aren't 100,000 copies shipped yet it means that in all japan there are just around 6,500 copies left in the stores.
(Could make some stocking problems and less sales).

Physical sales certifications are generally out around the 10th of every month, aren't they? AKA the certifications for August would be out the 10th of September?

Yes, though the single was released in July (also kuu's single and it was already certificated) so it's probably one of the issues I wrote above. XD

The certifications posted on a certain month are of the previous month.

It's a little weird that it hasn't been certificated yet, Kumi's Gossip Candy has, even though it's sold less... Doubt they'd ship out fewer copies for MOON / blossom. =P

It could have to do with the fact that they shipped out 100k immediately for Kuu's single where they were a bit more hesitant with Ayu's. (Just a theory though) But it could be any number of reasons.

Now the 100k are possible, with the a-nation promo, the promo of her 49th and 50th singles and the magazines probably she can sell 100k !!!!

I'm glad that M/b has ranked in the top 50, at least, but some of those other sales surprise me. I know boy bands are heavy on single sales, so I guess I just haven't kept up with the actual numbers. It's interesting to see singles still selling above 600k.

Those are the certifications for July. You can go to the previous menu and look at the certifications for all the months all the way back to 2003, I think. DVD certifications are under ビデオ, but make sure to differentiate between Japanese and International DVDs, which are at the bottom. ^^

The numbers are exactly the same as for singles, which surprised me. Japan has the largest music DVD market in the world!
