Something fast, a little epic, a little mysterious and glam. But not Lady Dynamite :P LD is a little rockish (but I dont like the song, it's too slow and kinda boring) and Brilliante makes me think of something mix of classical and electro-pop. But we will see.

Well, with that comment I said that in my opinion all of her gay themed video clips suck. And who am I to say that I don't want ayu to do OR hate/ have an problem with gay themed video's, that would almost seem homophobic in some way.

What is with the Lady Dynamite hate? That song is so much fun. And the PV is one of her best.

Lady Dynamite is just so BORING! Seems to be the general consensus and I agree. It never kicks off.

It's a bit too much for me I guess. When I saw all those guys dancing and Ayu in the middle I thought ".... wtf is this ayu?". I don't really know "her style" or anything but this was something that I wasn't familiar with. As for the song I only like the part which comes before the main chorus. ~Datte ..... .. . . Sugite .....~ that part lol.

The best part about lady dynamite is the instrumental hook. I don't find the PV very interesting and the song pretty sun of the mill ayu album track, though not her best. It's just ok, and that sadly doesen't cut it when the other songs on the same album appeal to me so much more. =)

I don't get the reference to "Her gay themed PVs" though, I thought there was just one, Lady dynamite which has lots of references to contemporary western culture that is labeled as gay.

GREEN can be interpreted in a number of ways and not necessarily mainly as being a gay themed pv IMO, especially considering the view on genders in japanese culture. Consider the theatrical tradition where men used to take on female roles, but also contemporary stuff like the all female theater (whose name I cannot remember), yaoi aimed at women, themed host bars where women dressed as men serve female clients in the rolse of men to take the sexual tention away etc. None of the above can acurately be described as a part of "gay" culture from a modern western pespective, as they are completely outside of that realm.

Ayu was a party girl after all. I wouldn't be surprised if the PV is representative of what she does on her down-time. My problem with the Lady D haters, especially when it came out, is that they sometimes express this notion that Ayu is someway devalued or tainted because she did a club PV with gay men. There's nothing wrong with clubs, dancing, gay men or drag queens. Now some critiqued the editing, that I feel is consistent with her gay PVs. GREEN was also poorly edited in my opinion, but it's still one of her best regardless.

I never get the hate for Lady Dinamyte too. And I never found anything over the top on it to be honest :shrug. I rather prefer a club PV when she's having fun than a dramatic PV when she's fake crying.

LD was a song with big aspiration but they made it overdone I think. But I like the PV, too bad the song it's just veeeery average. I just dont listen to it : P I got the same feeling with Don't look back and almost 70% of RnRC songs. They just rushed or sth? Microphone and Sexy little things are amazing (and the singles) but the rest have just something missing. I hope MINI album will have a feeling like Love songs - it sounds so complete for me.

You know what's weird? My friend isn't fan of Ayu (she just "meh" me, she likes korean music more) and she knows only RnRC, Love songs and some songs from NEXT LEVEL and she LOVES Lady Dynamite. o_o People tastes are sooo diffrent!

But btw, the most amazing thing about this album is we will have 5 pv's in a row... (I'm pretty sure we will get them almost in the same time - i think they will air one pv in the begining - and then we will get the rest...) Five PV's. FIVE. I dont remember that she had that amount of new PV's in one single/album promotion.

Lady D grew on me to much, love it.

i am a fan for my name's WOMEN too! party ayu is not a problem but LD is just too shallow while my name's WOMEN has a fierceness and ayu-is-the-queen style. i even enjoy seeing those gayish dancers lol.

I only started to accept Lady Dynamite after AT10, it has some atmosphere there but as for the album version I always skip it, the refren is ok, but the stanza gets me to sleep, I don't like the melody.

I am absolutely in love with Lady Dynamite. It's unique in Ayu's discography as it is an upbeat but non-happy-pop song you can sing along to with an attitude that isn't there often. I never got how people found it boring, when it comes on I start moving around and singing along lol I don't want a second Lady Dynamite but as a song I love it, one of my favs of Rock 'n' Roll Circus definitely.
While my name's WOMEN never got me, it always had this incredibly generic and thin sound to me and the video looked awkward in parts. It's a mix of the outfits, wigs and the actual video(it's one of the rare cases where 4:3 annoys me, it would have looked more...epic in 16:9k, with more of a view of the set)

i really hope that for FIVE, she won't release short ver PVs..
and i wonder from all those FIVE songs which will be the MAIN song?

Probably progress. It already got a somewhat major tie-in that will continue promoting it and the song is gold for promoting an EP. It's different from her usual work but not too different and quite powerful.

I don't like Lady Dynamite OR my name's WOMEN. they both drag on far too long and there's nothing special about them. LD is worse though. I remember when first listening to a LQ rip of it I was like "wait, that's it? there must be more going on in the HQ instrumental so I'll wait" but it was still bland. it just seems incomplete for an ayu song - doesn't have a climax or really go anywhere. Plus her vocals are really weak. I never had an issue with the PV though, it actually made me be able to tolerate the song. :shrug same with the my name's WOMEN PV.

Im not as excited as I can be for new ayu release because of the date. I mean, thats literally the end of summer, and we all know what end of the summer brings - school

BEST STATE TO BE IN! I'm constantly in this state now as it holds no expectations so you can't really be "disappointed" from the ideas and perceptions you create in your head before the release. I felt this way before Love songs. Yes I was excited, but I wasn't doing it overkill and the album was great. I know if I had any other expectations of what the album should/would be, I would have been disappointed. But this way, I had no thoughts on individual songs and that is the best way to go into releases.

That's normally how I am for any new releases, lol.

I wonder if BRILLANTE will end up being the "experimental-ish" track of the album. The translation of the description (mysteriously impressionistic) leads me to think so anyway, along with the breakdown of the tracks so far. (2 medium numbers, 1 pop-rock (progress), 1 ballad... then there's whatever BRILLANTE ends up being.) I think we've had at least one per album for the last few years.

I hope it's going to be upbeat. We seem to be lacking them on the album, buuuu.

^^Same here ! The only song I was reli waiting for was Like a doll, and at first I was disappointed because of all the descriptions I had read... I had imagined something different, and did'nt like the song at first.

Actually, the "Let's see how this turns out" state (thank you jbrat2219 for the expression) is definitely the best state when it comes to Ayu's new releases. And after all, if FIVE sucks, we'll listen to Love songs again till the next good release !

I think it's probably the best state for any new release from any artist really, haha.

And as for FIVE sucking (maybe), I think it should be interesting. Five completely new tracks with the only preview we have really being progress... if progress is any indicator, I think that this mini should be pretty good.

I think the lack of excitement, at least from me, stems from the lack of singles. Singles sometimes foreshadow an album (sometimes are left overs from the previous album) and even though the little bit of progress I heard is epic, I hope the full song leaks soon.

Same for me, I don't hate any of ayu's song, just dislike. And it's shameful that people in here feel offended if one particular song is not favored by everyone.

I wouldn't say offended but for me it's more of a shock. I really sit here scratching my head sometimes :headache

I think the problems with Ayu releases are that fans have their expectations soooo high. For example, when Ayu releases a "not-that-good" song everyone notices and the criticism is high. But for example when Koda releases a random song (for example "For you" from Gossip Candy) everyone talks about hiw gorgeous the other song is, without caring about the random song. Ayu has a "Diva Status", so everyone is expecting ultra expensive PVs and glamorous covers. I also expect more from Ayu, and when a not-that good song comes i think is worse than it actually is. So i decided to not have enormous expectacions for FIVE, i will let Ayu be a "normal" artist (even if I'm sure I will enjoy FIVE)
