Shota all the while has never really been a strong seller when comes to his singles and/or albums

And frankly that's unfortunate as he's 1 of the rare male solos out there right now still releasing music & let alone most of what he releases , he himself writes & composes

I would say so too. Definitely something from his first album.

Yeah his sorta peak period was during the time when he released Umbrella & Journey

His other albums are also equally good but COLOURS is my fave outta what he released so far

Maybe some people only know him from his Miliyah collabs so maybe love forever? Or forever love since that one is shotaxmiliyah and not the other way around.

I see, that's a little sad, but I do agree with him being a rare male solo.. At least off the top of my head in the pop realm, all of who I can really think of.. is him and Daichi Miura or Yuya Matsushita. (Though I don't listen to many Japanese male solos.)

COLOURS is my favorite release of his. NATURALLY was the hardest to get into, but it does have some stand out songs for me. When I think of Shota, I think of 'YOU & I' (Probably my favorite song from him)

COLOURS & ENCORE are my 2 fave albums that Shota released . I tried listening to his debut album Umbrella but somehow I can't get into it no matter how hard I tried :no

Journey was good and yeah Naturally was a bit difficult to get into

^Wow, I've had a very different experience. My favorite album is Umbrella with Journey as a close second. I also am very fond of COLORS. Naturally is very hard to get into and I listened to ENCORE once when it came out and I remember really really disliking it. His cover album is also very forgettable. I should give those albums another try.

Oh that's interesting . I guess why I didn't like Umbrella was the styles that Shota presented and oddly enough , I don't like it when he raps

I like the singles that were included in Naturally . I can't really remember the album tracks on there :x

ENCORE was great as it had a great opening & closing numbers . In addition , I love DREAM on the album

My favorite track on Naturally was Gamble. Absolutely love that song. The others were good but I haven't heard it in so long I can't remember what they sound like.

Definitely gonna give Naturally and ENCORE another try.

The only songs by Shota I REALLY like are GOODBYE and Sakura. Journey was a great album.

^It really was! Kimi ga Suki and Kimi ga Itakara are like permanent jams for me. Will never get old. I have great memories with the Journey album.

Yeah same . Journey was the 1st Shota album I listened/bought , it's still a good album

The only problem I had with ENCORE was that horrendous cover art they gave it. :S

Aoyama Thelma has unleashed the short PV for her song "stay feat. Shimizu Shota" which will be included in her mini-album "GRAY SMOKE" to be released on September 16.

"stay feat. Shimizu Shota" is a ballad number with sex appeal oozing out of the lyrics and the singers' voices. Regarding the song, Aoyama stated, "Because I was collaborating with Shimizu Shota-san, I wanted to make it a song that would reverberate our voices. I think it's a song that unites everything, including our peculiar voices, and simple yet dramatic sounds."

Meanwhile, Shimizu said, "We created this song aiming for it to be the top ballad. Thelma-san is also good at singing the low keys, so I was able to produce this song no different from my own songs."

The concept of "GRAY SMOKE" is Thelma's image of "man". As such, she only collaborated with male artists. Besides Shimizu, she worked with ANARCHY, SWAY (DOBERMAN INFINITY), and Furuya Kenji (Dragon Ash).

I've known of Aoyama Thelma, but never really looked into her body of work, but that song is really nice! Looking forward to hearing the full version. The beginning of the clip it reminded me too much of a Rihanna music video LOL

Well just have to wait for an announcement for a DVD/Blu-ray of his 2015 tour in due time & I don't think Shota is the flashy sort of personnel who needs so many props to do a concert onstage

He just need the bare essentials . Heck he can just utilise a piano onstage and make it a centre focal point if he could . He sounds good acapella as well

B-sides wise , Kaze ni Fukarete is a bit too slow for my liking although I like the melody with it being somewhat jazzy bossanova ish

However , I'm not so keen on the remix of BYExBYE as it's too festive Christmas ish especially since the original was a sad breakup song

Hearing BYExBYE REMIX being so upbeat , it's a bit strange but aside from that , the A-side is the main star this time round , not that the B-sides ain't good

PROUD has already leaked and I only listened to it once so far . The new material in the album has a lot of auto tune which I don't know if it's a good or bad thing

Frankly I feel PROUD is not as good as ENCORE . I think Shota went a bit overboard with too much autotune

Also it's a bit odd that the MONEY PV is not included in the PROUD DVD , except for ANIMAL
