Around half the setlist of PCDL was lipped(proven for ANGEL's SONG since she lipped a wrong line), that's why you enjoyed her vocals so much. She just fell down the stairs a few days before and was in bad physical condition, that's probably the reason for all the playback.

PCDL is the best for sure..she'll struggle to top it.

Most of the CDLs after CDL05-06 are pretty good. I don't watch 06-07 that much cause of the rehashiness but it's still okay. I'd say 05-06 is probably her best CDL looks-wise and in terms of song choice though.

its funny how people can watch the same thing and have different impressions! i thought the audience was REALLY into it! and they kept screaming "ayu" like all the freaking time. :yes

Why do Japanese fans not like it? I am guessing that because they had such a high expectation earlier this year (before things changed into PoM), and you know, if you had more expectation you tend to be more disappointed. Also I am thinking the title "HOTEL Love songs" makes it "sound" very interesting, but it may have turned out to be not as interesting as people would have had in mind. Just my guess.

All in all, though, I enjoyed MOON and November a lot. The show could have been better if the costumes had been better. I don't like some of her outfits. :P

^yeah...but i think all things considered the "show" was actually a little better than most CDL's are. i dunno, i never expect grand amazing stuff at CDL.

For some songs they were, but I noticed in some others there was...no shouting, no movement...Ladies Night for example, I looked into the audience and they didn't seem to move.

If I were there, I'd be jumping and screaming my head off for everything. I need to see her live someday.

This year hasn't been too great, a lot of vocals fans didn't like manny, five, a-nation, music station and now this. Roll on 2012...

I seem to remember in the past CDLs, before countdown there is usually a video clip about what Ayu has done in the year (like tours, rehearsals, etc). I was wondering why there's no clip that shows Ayu's 2011 this time...

I...kind of agree that it was one of her worst CDLs, but that doesn't mean that it was BAD by any stretch of the imagination. Her concerts are always of such a high-quality that "worst" for her is still light years ahead of a lot of other artists.

I'm sure for the same reasons that most of the ahs fans that went and posted about. I'll have to watch the broadcast version to see if it does indeed come across better than actually being there.

The broadcast view wasn't as cut off from seeing Ayu while she was sitting or standing in the background for her hotel room scenes, I think that's the main difference. Being in the stadium, especially near the back of the gymnasium I can see why alot of people would be upset with their view. Even in D-block for the RNRC final I was trying to watch her without the assistance of the big screens whose views are not always on her. I think going for the musical approach had her relying too heavily on the camera view to see her instead of being close the audience like POM. As much as she loves musicals I can understand her going for this type of show, but with her fan base not liking her being farther away or sitting, she might lose some ticket and dvd sales.

Nah crowd was very into it, like usual. I was there all 3 nights. Im still bewildered that everyone knows and remembers the MY ALL dance.

Then I guess I just saw the wrong angles at the wrong time, thanks for clearing that up.

Watched some of the videos, her vocals are really not that bad in this show, are they?? :)

They had some really bad camerawork during the concert, so I'm not surprised. Lots of sudden pans to the right or left... and no one was there. Or it'd zoom in on Yocchan's hair, lol.

from what i watch so far...i think it's normal CDL, looks more expensive than her usual, with lot of prob and colorful costume...i think it's one of her best...fantastic vocal!

Tbh I am a bit disappointed with how beautiful you are, it's kinda too long and repetitive, while I was pleasantly surprised by Party Queen. Still considering the first reviews we've got, this CDL is shaping up to be quite good.

Actually i really like this stage design...

It really different from her usual stage... Althought the stage itself look like my story era... But the background, the screen looks so different...

Also this design really looks like a hotel... A hanging stage looks like hotel's balcony..

I liked party queen a lot. Hope this song and the other are good representation of the entire album.

The second performance of happening here was basically only the chorus, I think it was more of a finale before the real finale(the curtains went down and then up again for Love Song I think)

By the way... I have a question. Where were you guy able to watch the show unstream? I don't really understand, how it works.

I loved CDL and it was so much fun watching with everybody else. The stage was absolutely amazing and Ayu was beyond perfect for me.

ustream.tv is a website that allows you to watch concerts. You had to buy a ticket and then you could watch the concert live on the website.

And trust me, happening here is MUCH better live than on the studio version ;)

I remembered in 2010, there were some rumors Ayu and her staff were watching some Las Vegas shows and being inspired to do that in some show... Maybe it was that!

IIRC, it was late 2009 (September ish) that they went to Vegas looking for inspiration? The result was AT10, I think? The dancers that choreograph dances tagged along with her as well.

I think her shows have been inspired by that ever since then. Both RnRC tour and CDL1112 are very Vegas in parts.

Hm, don't know how I feel about Party Queen.
Guess I need a proper studio recording.
But so far it doesn't click with me, it so repetetive...and the chorus so dull, not only the lyrics, for Ayu.
Love her costume and the stage lights though, so colorful!
Those Love stands were used by Namie already and better incoporated in the performance then there. They could have left them out.

The 'interludes' are likely just Yuta-composed pieces of music that were made for the concert a la snow field, RIMBAUD, solitude, memories, and so on.

Is this from the YouTube video? I thought that was made by a hater who intended to accuse ayu of lip-synching (so s/he used the audio of the wrong chorus for the video and juxtaposed them to make that clip).

No, it was on the TV broadcast, the camera was right on her mouth when she lipped the wrong word. It happened for theme of a-nation at CDL0506, too.
And it's not the first time Ayumi lipped, she used to do it in almost every concert for a few songs(hell she even used the same playback for evolution MANY times), she stopped after AT09 as far as I know. Most of her fans think she is perfection and deny it though, but I can fully understand why she would lip a few songs every now and then considering her ear-situation so I dont think it should be as much of a taboo as it is.
PCDL is probably the concert with most playback, noone is sure how much exactly but probably around half of the concert.

I just watched freedreamers videos and I love "how beautiful you are", it nearly brought tears to my eyes, until freedreamer coughed:laugh.
I really like Timmy's background vocals! And why did people think this stage looks cheap? The whole shows looks rather expensive and high class to me (so far). But I am sad that they didn't use the center stage as it is the perfect stage kind to me.:P

I know it's not the first time she lipped. The *entire* Stadium Tour was lipped, too, I heard. And she used to slipped lip-synched songs among the live ones (like M in CDL 0405, HAPPY ENDING in AT05, alterna in AT06 etc.) and, yes, I think she used the same recording for talkin' 2 myself in the last few days of AT08, as well.

Oh well.

Yeah, I really like the center stage as well, cause the big advantage is - Ayu is in the center!!
Even with band and her overused dancers you're mostly having her being in the spotlight. Also the stage going round and up and down like that looks nice for me.

Downloading the whole CDL 2011-2012 right now, but the stage set up looks nice as well.
I'm curious if I'll enjoy this years CDl as much as last years.

She only lipped a handful songs in Stadium Tour(like UNITE!), the biggest part of it was live.
M in CDL0405 was probably lipped, we don't know for sure about that one, HAPPY ENDING at AT05 was NOT lipped, the very last line is playback and the rest was live and alterna at AT06 may or may not be playback, only people that attended the tour can tell and even they are confused it seems.

I really like Party Queen and how beautiful you are :yes. Party Queen sounds quite different from her usual songs and people were right :D it sounds like a happy version of Sparkle.

Anyway the stage doesn't look so cheap for me D: everything looks so colorful. But yeah, I watched just two videos of the whole CDL lol.

So I dunno if me who has just seen the Ustream rip and the people who went to see the show actually saw the same thing. I mean, even for a CDL this is pretty damn good. Yes it looked quite cheap, but it's a CDL and after seeing each and every CDL you know what to expect ^^ Her vocals were really good throughout the whole show with ups and downs. I'd say I was pleasantly surprised by NEVER EVER, sending mail, Love song, how beautiful you are and November. She did quite well and that's the most important thing. Yes the dancers were over-used, some of the performances made little sense and looked quite dumb, but over-all the whole show works well as a whole and it's prolly just a demo version of the tour :) It's nothing alarming...and after SunshineSlayer's and HilaryDuffFan's posts I was completely freaked out ^^ Jeez people, compared to do it again or 2002-2003, 2007-2008 this one is pure gold.

I actually liked ~do it again~ but yeah, from photos and a lot of people's reviews it sounds smashing good rather than awful, I wanna see the blu-ray!

Oh. Only the track-listing is kind of off to me; I agree that the songs didn't 'flow' to some extent. But overall the show is really good. The new tracks are beautiful, also.

The tracklist seemed like a CDL+tour setlist that never came together because well, CDLs are not tours, lol. The tour should be much more cohesive.

i just watched Party Queen and how beautiful you are performances, and well, i hope PQ will grow more in me =\ and totally loved hbyr.

There is only two things I don't like about this concert.
1. She sang to much slow songs.
2. Ayu sat to much during this concert! (This is the one bad thing that I agree with based on reading people's review).
Beside that the concert seems like CDL she always has. My favorite performance is November! I really like the water show, love scene, and Shuya's 1 wing costume).

I really like the stage and the oval screen. I haven't watched anything from the concert yet, but the stage lighting actually looks much better than usual. :O

I wish they could broadcast TV-version with already edited vocals today since we already have Ustream rip with original vocals :-) But I guess it's too much to desire 'cause they didn't have enough time to do it.

The arrangement for Party Queen is KILLER! But, the chorus "I.am.your.par-ty.queeeen" is so dull.

Also, I know everyone has said Timmy is a great person, but his whole look at this concert frightened me. I couldn't take it his look seriously at all.

I think "I am your party queen" is more of a sub-chorus that comes after the actual chorus? It reminds me of the way "NO NO NO" is placed in Sparkle but it's not as easy to swallow at all, lol.

I didn't watch the whole thing yet only a few performances but I do agree with the ones that said Ayu sat too much and that it almost seems like a dance show with some live music in the background. During some parts it really seems like that to me!
I think during songs like Humming or so the dancers fit well and add power and energy to a performance. But I feel like during Sparkle they became the priority and Ayu a background singer and she should be the star of this show shouldn't she?
I know that Ayu uses the dancers a lot and I should be used to it by now but this time she overused them during some parts in my opinion!
... apart from that I feel bad for them, those costumes... not pretty! Sometimes I get the feeling ayu wants them to look ugly xD

I prefer watching it with her real vocals. This is her real vocal.. and nothing edited. And her Vocals were very good this time.

How can anyone say a bad word about this? It was PERFECT. It gets better and better with every concert she holds. You complain she sat too much? As far as I remember you complained about her vocals before, now she relaxes during the show to focus more on singing than moving and it is wrong again? You all should make up your mind, because it might be 100% you would always find something to complain about, but it proves your qualities not her abilities.

Party Queen was okay, I'm not impress on "how beautiful you are".

I don't even know what she is singing in those 2 videos. It's all out of tone.

Im not really impressed either with how beautiful you are, for me...it was more , yelling then singing :/. With the CM version it sounds so amazing, beautiful and peaceful, but yet live ruined it for me :/
