I need to get this album. Mostly because I know everything about it will be awesome. Her production team is fantastic. :)
Her English singing voice reminds me of Kylie Minogue, but I'm not sure why. Was a bit surprised that basically all of her previous singles and b-sides were included! I haven't really been listening to a lot of her recent material, so the album will be pretty new for me. |
The first press bonuses for the album are special packaging (I'm assuming a digipak unless she decides to do something different for her anniversary) and a B2-size poster!

Just 4 new songs is a bit small, but as they're all getting a PV... and it's great for people who aren't buying every single from her. Like me. :D I don't know how I feel about ONLY YOU, especially that it's completely in English. I always have problems understanding her English to be honest. Let's see how it turns out. Break It/Get Myself Back still is my favourite single from this era, I love both songs so much! |

I love what I've heard of ONLY YOU. I'm already so excited for this album. I haven't been listening to Namie much at all lately because she hasn't released a new album since 2009 but this has got me playing her music again.

I don't know, it's good to have English parts in songs, but I like her singing in Japanese. If I wanted to hear English lyrics, I'd listen to English musicians... But it's definitely nice to be better informed through her FB page!

I love the fact that she's trying to reach a global audience, and I don't care if she sings in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, English, Engrish or some other combination of languages, she has a beautiful voice, an amazing musical style, and her overall artistry is impeccable, so she can do no wrong for me. Hell I would buy a Namie song even if she decided to sing the next cotton commercial song. I would probably end up buying more cotton too.... All that aside, I think it's really important/really big of her to try and reach out to her English-speaking fans. I think she's finally starting to recognize how big of a fan base she has in her English-speaking fans. Now if we can just get her to perform at Madison Square Garden, much like L'arc-en-ciel, we'll be all set. |
