Petticoat and under dresses are easily purchasable.
The dress was sold first so I don't understand how is it lazy.
They weren't trying to look like Namie.

But anyways is an ugly dress, I agree on that.

I've listened to Heaven, of all the songs so far I only really like Alive, the rest isn't engrossing, kind of demolished my hype but I still wait for the whole album.

Gustavopc 16th June 2013 10:00 PM

Heaven is good, it didnt make me go insane like HoM but it's still a good tune.

I'm still dying to hear Alive in full tho

George 16th June 2013 11:11 PM

I'm lowering my expectations quite a bit. Hopefully I would end up loving the album.

chasethechance 17th June 2013 12:06 AM

Random question, but does anyone know what the lyrics are in the beginning? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruWo73WtUzQ

I hear something like "shadow broken glass..cut my blablabla" >_<
I'd really like to know what she says xD

aloopy 17th June 2013 12:16 AM

Shattered broken glass, cut my world apart?

CoriKaru 17th June 2013 03:57 AM

"Heaven" has this tinge of nostalgic quality to it at parts. (Pre-Chorus & Chorus)

Still can't force the song onto myself.

I just want to hear "Alive." I know it won't sound like the teaser but oh well. I'm just keeping my expectations realistic. It's probably like the bridge or something for 5 seconds.

kumis 17th June 2013 02:34 PM

Hands on Me sounds boring compared to Alive and Heaven

My excitement for the album is really high now. This is gonna be a great dance/upbeat album the way things are going. Anything new/original? No. Anything fresh? Kinda. Is it worth it? So far, yes. Heaven/Hands on me >>> uncontrolled.

there's actually 3 of them. And with the amount of photoshop they use everytime i am greatly surprised how they leave them untouched and where they are lol

i like the lences that she's wearing. they never look overly bold and fake always subtile and darkish.

Quick question for those who buy Namie's blu-rays:
I know the Past < Future Tour 2010 Blu-ray edition came with a slipcase, but does anyone know if the slipcase is a first press bonus or it always comes with the slipcase?

At first I thought it was a first press bonus, but then I realized I never saw a picture of it without the slipcase, so I got curious... I am planning on buying this blu-ray next month :)

We still don't know, I hope the album be divided into Japanese and English songs equally. As far as we know Alive, Hands on Me and Heaven are English while BBC and Contrail are Japanese. The rest we still don't know.

I remember preordering my copy but I am pretty sure it wasn't a first press edition and mine still came with a slipcase. I am also pretty sure I saw a copy in kinokuniya shelves and it also had a slipcase.

terra 19th June 2013 08:30 AM

^^Oh yes I forgot, I just remembered knowing what she sing when I karaoke the song XD and that's a whole lot of English but it still has Japanese in it. And I'm with you about her English songs, it's nice but I don't want her future album release will feature mainly English songs like Uncontrolled :no I hope she has new Japanese songs in FEEL, aside from Contrail

emi♡ 19th June 2013 08:50 AM

I really wish everyone would stop using "BBC" :laugh

Anyways.

terra 19th June 2013 09:20 AM

Because BBC is definitely English :laugh

Minttulatte 19th June 2013 11:06 AM

Because BBC makes me think of a TV channel. XD

I don't get the problem with full English songs on Namie's albums. I personally think it's done purposely because her team knows she has lots of fans who speak English and can't understand Japanese. It's pretty sweet. I wish my other top favs (Kuu & Ayu) would follow her lead. :D

Lady~Deviance 19th June 2013 03:26 PM

Actually, Namie has recently sated in magazine interviews that she decided to sing in English with no intention of catering to international audiences. She simply does it because she finds songs that are given to her by foreign producers or that have a "Western" aesthetic are fitted better for it. Basically it just sounds "cool" to her.

Regardless, implementing English lyrics has introduced her to a wider audience. This is evident with her last album and the growing number of English language speaking fans on her facebook page. :yes

Pieces_of_SEVEN 19th June 2013 03:29 PM

took me like 70 listens to finally realize she's saying "bombard, assault, attack, go hard...yeah I like it like that. U Scared? Don't be, I won't bite..unless that's what you like". in HOM lol

I see, thank you for telling this now I know her reasoning. Still I wish for more Japanese song from her xD

visionfactory 19th June 2013 05:32 PM

I'm so glad getting foreign fans wasn't the intention of this album..

BluishDays 19th June 2013 05:44 PM

I finally got around to listening to Heaven and Hands on me, I love them. I'm looking forward to my copy which still seems so far away,

I have always respected where an artist wants to take their music, and as fans we either follow or don't, if we ourselves aren't liking what they are bringing out.

I been following Namie since Style and it was a joy going backwards thru her music ( Finding all the gems thru her older music, because there is alot, and I adore some of those songs to death lol ) But I still love her new music too as it comes out, ( Some songs more than others, yes I don't love every single thing to death ) But I haven't missed an album yet

I believe if Namie wasn't happy where she was, we would see her going on hiatus alot, dropping a best album from her previous company, and bringing out a new album with a different style

With all that said ^-^* Looking forward to my copy

Namie was referring to choosing which language better synchronizes with a song (Japanese vs. English), not choosing the songs themselves. ;)

Namie's July 'S-Cawaii' & 'Sweet' Magazine Interview Highlights:

Namie viewed her 20th anniversary as a "clean break" in her career. She stated that she gained a sense of freedom, and her work feels fresh and exciting again. :yes

Namie felt in previous years she mainly focused on preserving a certain image of herself. Now she's more expressive and desires to portray concepts in her works. (Summer = happiness, cheerfulness, etc.)

She's really happy with the direction her music has taken and wants to continue to challenge herself and try out new concepts. She does not want to stay stagnant with her career
.

She also states this is the most summer themed and aggressive album she feels she's ever recorded. She hopes listeners will enjoy it. :D

She's working with a different team (new producers) to produce her music. She found this challenging since the team is very diverse (International).

She revealed there are more English based songs on the album due to the English (demos) synchronizing with the flow of certain songs better. She felt certain songs on the album when sung in her native tongue did not harmonize well with the original tracks.

Namie has become more laid back in song selection. She points out her lyrics have become more intelligible and less figurative and perplexing. She wants the listeners to focus on the music. Hence titling her album "FEEL".

^ That really nice, after 20 years she still wants to try new stuff and keep going with excitement for her carrer, that makes me happy :D

The language thing makes sense, I'm glad to know that she considers how the songs will sound better, though I wish she would sing less songs totally in English...

marty 20th June 2013 06:14 PM

Thank you for that piece of interview, it's so nice to read she's so happy releasing music nowdays, that's the most important thing, whether we like the songs or not.
I'm fond of her previous "image", but I do want her to evolve, and most of all to be happy and satisfied. I'm sure she can put that intensity she had before in the new direction her music's taking, she just needs time and practising, Uncontrolled was a first attempt, I suppose. She too admitted it was rushed, and that FEEL should sound like a "polished" version of it, very summerish, strong and new for her.

& + H 20th June 2013 07:31 PM

that is awesome that she's very happy, I will buy the album to support her.

Surreal17 20th June 2013 07:47 PM

she seems happy and more excited for a release than before. good for her! i know that in the past she struggled with social anxiety but eventually WON this personal battle.she's a fighter!

Benikari47 20th June 2013 07:55 PM

I'm so glad that she's happy with what she's releasing right now, and that she's in a more relaxed state of her career.
You can really hear in her recent songs that she's just enjoying herself and having fun right now! <3

The "yeah yeah yeah" totally made me think of Rihanna's Where Have You Been (not a bad thing :D )

I really like the geometric shapes and style of the video and such, but there's something about Namie herself in the video that makes me kinda awkward...eh, it's a catchy song, so I don't mind too much :P

Benikari47 21st June 2013 02:09 AM

Oh god.. The song, the visuals, the styling.. Everything was on point in that video. I know i say it constantly (it must become annoying lol) but this woman is just effortless EVERYTHING! She's just miles ahead of everyone right now.

This video is everything In The Spotlight should've been, Heaven is the superior song though so i guess it was for the best.
I only had a minor problem with the dancing, it could've been more intense. Especially at the bridge/breakdown. I had the same problem with the "WILD" video, you can't go and drop such a banger and then not go nuts with the choreography! However she carried it through with the rest.

I'm seriously blown away by how much she took me by surprise with this album, i was sadly a tad dissapointed after Damage & Big Boys Cry/Beautiful. Don't get me wrong, they were decent songs and i grew to love them. But they lacked that wow factor. Then she goes and drop Hands On Me, some serious pop crack and then Heaven, pop perfection. This is shaping up to be one of her best albums to date <3 I'm so proud to be a fan of this woman! She always delivers.

I seriously doubt she isn't trying to cater to international fans. Her facebook page is proof enough, no? I mean I appreciate her attempt to sing all english songs but her pronunciation is still terrible. I personally like her old blend of HipPop and Japanese/engrish not all engrish.

Too bad the dance in the heaven video was so lazy. I enjoyed HOM alot more I think.

More like light years if you ask me. :P

This post 20th anniversary era, concept wise, is probably one of the best things she's done in career in quite some time imo. I'm glad she did away with 'Damage' and went the "pop" route. I'm diggin' this "FEEL" era so much it's ridiculous.

Just seeing a more lively and engaging side of Namie is refreshing. :yes Witnessing her display such an array of emotions and seeing her become more daring with her music has made me see her in a different light. I'm glad she's finally comfortable with herself and her image as an artist (less stoic) and you can clearly tell when you watch these newer PV's from 2011 till current. She's finally come into form and she's happy with her music again.

*scratches head* Since when has Namie ever cared about catering to any particular demographic? Why wait until she hit 35 to all of a sudden reach out to foreign fans?

If she wanted to cater to an international audience she would have just come out and said it. She's not the type to make a career move and not come out and blatantly state her reasons. It wouldn't make any logical sense not to. :shrug

Let's be real here. This is Namie I don't give a **** Amuro we're talking about. :P

Also many foreign non-native English speaking artists sing songs entirely in English and have English facebook pages (purely for convenience) but prefer to remain local artists in their home countries. Having a mere facebook page in English isn't enough to make such a claim fact in my humble opinion. ;)

Yeah...go to other countries, and they sing songs in English all day long, but it's not to cater to anyone. It's just a testament to how much English is just ingrained everywhere now.

In Japan...I guess it's not as much as other places, but I kinda believe what she says. I think she's a part of that Japanese culture that loves things Western.

Obviously this is my opinion, and I'm not saying its a top secret mission on her behalf to cater to them, but we can't deny that she's paying attention to them. I mean her facebook page is pretty damn awesome and is always updated with exclusives etc etc. I don't see other artists reaching out to international fans like her. She can keep saying that she thinks the songs sound better in English and its not for the international fans but then she goes and releases something like that 20th anniversary celebration video in English, french, Chinese, Korean. I can't see how that isn't catering to international fans. I don't think any other Japanese artist has done anything like that, no?

As someone who's been listening to her for over 10 years I am simply stating that I liked her HipPop sound better. Her sound obviously changed with P<F and while she still puts out great music but I miss her old sound.

I couldn't agree more! :yes She looks genuinely happy, i love her dead-pan swagger but her smile can light up everything <3
Knowing that she's enjoying what she's releasing only makes it appeal to me more.

I love her more urban stuff, but she turned me over with P<F.. She's just in her own element when she does straight forward pop imo.

Completely unrelated to our current discussion :P But i've made a couple of new Namie covers the last couple of days to update my iTunes.

OMG that video just blew me away!

I absolutely love electro dance tracks and I'm happy that Namie's dipping her toes into it! I'm still a big fan of her R&B stuff but this fresh new venture seems to be working out well for her! :D

I hope the album leaks REAAAALLY early!! LOL

I think if any song has a shot of going viral in the States it should be Hands on Me. It should also make FEEL end up selling more copies than Uncontrolled and perhaps even P<F. It should also be performed live for her next 5 tours.

my one problem with namie is she doesnt smile or do anything with her face while she dances... its just ridged. lol

As expected, she is always look beautiful in her PVs...at least looking lovely
I just love her costume and hair, the background is kinda cool too :D

The song is nice but I prefer dancing to Hands on Me instead XD
