Today a new picture from GONIN Saga was revealed:

Anna will play Asami Kikuchi, a former club idol who (apparently) has a romance with Seiji (Masanobu Ando), the grandson of a yakuza. And as you can see in the new picture, she sings in the movie, so this movie will hopefully have new Anna's music! Anna will be collaborating with bassist Tetsuo Sakurai for his new album "Nothin' but the Bass". Anna will sing the track Time After Time, which I guess it will be a cover of Cyndi Lauper's song!

Her mini albums have a special meaning for her, especially Sugar Palm. I can assure you that it's not random, she made it with all her love and I think it's the most important release she ever made, at least for her. It's something that she needed and wanted to do, to prove everyone that indeed she's more than just a "rock queen". She's been YEARS studying and taking singing lessons to increase her already powerful voice, and she made an excellent job. For me, her singles were unecessary (especially STEP INTO THE NEW WORLD, because that song is terribly boring) but both Sugar Palm and LUCIFER were two excellent mini albums, and don't tell me she could have put all together and make a full album because both have a completely different meaning and theme. But yeah this new "COVER BEST" album is a joke. And I'm so mad. She could have made a release like this, moreover, I think it's a great idea because Anna always does very good covers. But it should have been an album with more tracks and NEW tracks, new covers. Of course, I hope that on August (when it's her 10th anniversary) she will release a new full album or I will be so pissed! 5 years is such a long time. And I must add, I don't think it's her fault that she's not releasing a full new album in such a long time, because it seems that in Japan no one cares about her music releases, except a few fans, so I guess Avex wouldn't give money for a full album when it's not worthy for them u_u |
I've been supporting Anna since 2008 & frankly it saddens me that in recent times , avex doesn't seem to care about the releases that Anna put out
It's quite evident that her popularity peaked when she contributed songs for the NANA anime as after that , the public don't care about her which sucks because it's not as though Anna is not talented at all Sugar Palm & LUCIFER both had potential to be full length albums but I guess avex feels since Anna cannot sell as well as before , they were 'demoted' to mini albums status itself . I personally feel it's not the quality that's the problem but rather , there's lack if not no promotion at all :x And there's nothing wrong to put out a release full of covers because like yourself , I also feel that the covers that Anna has done over the years have been enjoyable It's just that this time round , it's really bad & the fact that avex re-used an image of Anna from the Sugar Palm booklet with it being made into a cover for COVER BEST , it's basically avex wanting to make a few quick bucks from people who still genuinely supports Anna :x |

In the past few weeks there were many interesting news about Anna's new film "GONIN Saga"!
First, we already have an official date for the movie. We already knew it would be out this fall, and now it's been announced that it will be released on September 26! I found the synopsis in English as well: (The synopsis contains spoilers from the first movie in 1995, so if you want to watch the first GONIN before watching GONIN Saga, do not read it) Spoiler:

Here are the things I found (personally) more interesting: - What inspired you to cover “Staying Alive”? Anna Tsuchiya: My mother loved the Bee Gees, and I listened to their music because of her. This was my favorite song, so I decided to cover it. - Do you have any fun stories about traveling with an all-male band? Anna Tsuchiya: One of the members with tattoos all over his body was stopped at the immigration check, and he was in a panic like I’d never seen him before. He was surprised. [laughs] I can’t forget his rattled expression when he came out later! - What’s next for you? Anna Tsuchiya: I want to create a new song right away! And I want to have more live shows overseas, not only in Japan! I will keep singing good songs so please support me. |

Yesterday singer Junichi Inagaki announced a new cover album called "Otoko to Onna 5". This album features 9 covers with different female singers. Anna will collaborate in the track "Namida no Lonely Boy". [NEW RELEASE] NAKE'd ~Soul Issue~ (2015.12.09)
Yesterday it was announced on Anna's official website the new release! On August 25th, the staff announced the release of a new mini album at the end of November. The mini album will finally be released a bit later, but at least we already know the title, the release date and the theme:
Title: NAKE'd ~Soul Issue~ Release date: December 9th, 2015 Type: mini album Available in two versions: CD only, CD+DVD This mini album will be a western cover album. We know that Anna has a special talent for covers, and judging by the title and the description she wants to show us her soul and her real self. Also it's been announced that the DVD will contain special features. The fact that this year's her 10th anniversary & the way avex is treating her are not helping matters in any single way
Granted that she's not able to sell very well now unlike in the past where she peaked during when the NANA anime helped her a great deal but for long time fans , it's not doing Anna good :x LUCIFER was really under-rated & the songs she re-recorded were a testimony on how much she has improved vocally over the years That said , I'm not so keen on NAKE'd ~Soul Issue~ . Aside from it being yet another mini album release , the contents itself is another thing , even though I do like some songs Anna covered before Then again if the tracklist is good , I will consider buying NAKE'd ~Soul Issue~ |

OMG it was announced today that Anna will be attending a red carpet in Chile and later she will do a talk show!! The meet & greet session has yet to be announced but you have to pay for it so I don't think I'm going... I already paid a vip ticket for the concert and I plan to buy her goods too... I will try to met her outside the venue or something (I hope I can make it)
She recorded a message for the event SJE: She mainly says that she heard that NANA songs are famous in Chile so she's gonna sing lots of NANA songs in the concert. She also says she's looking forward to eating delicious food and going to touristic places (the bad news is that there are not much touristic places in the city...) |

Although I was hoping that her next album release would be a studio album, I'm quite excited about this cover album now that the tracklist is out. I'm really looking forward to hearing her renditions of these songs and I'm glad that the DVD will include studio live footage. I preordered it back in October and I'm glad I did. :)

The flowers look MUCH better in the CD+DVD than in the CD Only to me, I am stunned o__o It would have been a perfect cover if not for the typography... I guess they aimmed at a classic look for the fonts but to me it simply looks old in a bad way, not good-retro
