I must agree to this :grumpy

I will try to make this post more constructive.

You have pinpointed my thoughts. Underneath the "sound" / the composition that the arrangement is blanketed around, there is nothing. It doesn't matter how high the "production value" of an album/song is if the underlying composition is practically nonexistent.

About Driving Hit's: It's kinda official, since they said in her fanclub (if I remember correctly) that will be released around april/may/june.

Nothing was really said about that. Someone on Baidu made up a fake announcement and acted as if it was some official news.

Well, I don't really care much about DH, at least hasn't in the last years. I only enjoyed two or three tracks of the last one, and plus a few new pics, that's just it. I'd preffer her to go back to the remix on singles formula cause those DH remixes always sound lazy job to me, but having a remix album is another source of money for avex. But I still think we'll have one, it's just that the album hasn't been out yet when they usually are releases until mid-February, so we might get one a bit later this year. I'd love her to go for another Beach Mix tho! The first one had awesome remixes and the DVD content was actually interesting

Well I agree the last few sucked but DH4 was bomb! And a few remixes on Beach Mix saved otherwise less-than-enjoyable tracks for me (Heat, Hey Baby!, Slow, Teaser, Heat, Poppin' Love Cocktail, KO-SO-KO-SO-KO, Bling Bling Bling). Many of these remixes were actually very detailed, right down to the stutter vocals and sound effects. So, DH always brings the possibility of turning Ku songs I hate, into something I love. I listened to a mix of DH4 and Beach Mix for two-three years straight daily during my weightlifting routine.

That's a good point. I hate Let's Party, but the remix on DH5 is hooooot as hell. And indeed, DH4 was a good one, but DH3, 5 and 6 are mainly skippable tunes for me. From Beach Mix, I adore the VIP remix, it made the featuring work MUCH better than in the JAPONESQUE version, also KO-SO-KO-SO (much hotter and less repetitive and the original), Heat, Lick me and POP DIVA. Not to mention Watchu Waitin' On, which is a gem also

Delicious n Bold 16th March 2015 04:07 AM

So cdjapan has credited me the points for buying kumi's album but it's still in shipping process... Hmm. I'd like to believe they shipped it yesterday but that only happens once in a lifetime (especially getting it on Tuesday). I really need to see the photobook asap and I'm praying the poster is the cd-Blu Ray cover.

orangeakira 16th March 2015 04:11 AM

Lippy reminds me of Licky by Princess Superstar.

ladyluthien 16th March 2015 04:15 AM

I love the DH albums, but I am secretly wishing for a Beach Mix 2. Beach Mix is seriously my most favorite remix album. It's the only one I listen to from beginning to end and listen to all year long.

orangeakira 16th March 2015 04:39 AM

Just finished listening to WOML. The intro as usual is too short, better than all the songs on the album, and needs to be turned into a full track. Besides single tracks, Sometimes Dreams come true, Piece in the Puzzle, Walk of my life, and Fake Tongue are good. The rest is forgettable. I'm pretty disappointed with this album. PITP is probably my favorite track on the album. Such great use of vibrato during the chorus.

I hated the demo for house party, and I hate the official version. Do as the rapper says and leave the song in 1993. If you're going to pull an old school sounding song, make sure to represent the good part from the 90's that's worth remembering like Kiesza with Hideaway which perfectly encompassed the C+C music factory sound. Good example of two songs that represented different aspects of 90's music. (Trust me kumi, no one wants to remember when "The Roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" was a bad ass thing to say in a song) Kind of reminds me of What a Feeling by Namie Amuro and Freak by Meg. Two different sides of 80's sounding music with the first taking the good early club power-dance sound and the latter representing the horrible early electronic/experimental/devo/weird side of the 80's.

Isicio 16th March 2015 05:22 AM

My album is shipped finally!!
And for DH I love the 4 "Ai wo tomenaide" and the 5 "shake hip" and Beach Mix of course, I have to get it soon!

SheFliesHigher 16th March 2015 06:15 AM

Meeeeehhhh I'm pretty disappointed by WOML. I haven't been disappointed by a Kuu album in quite a while, so this is a sad surprise for me. I agree with the comments about "noise" and "shouting" and don't have much to add beyond what's already been said.

happiholic★ 16th March 2015 09:09 AM

Is the version of WOML here on AHS true 320 quality? If it is, could someone be a lamb and upload a version with the artist fields being 'Koda Kumi'? I don't have the use of a laptop and no matter what I can't seem to edit my song tags on my Samsung phone.

cosmicfirefly 16th March 2015 09:09 AM

I agree with the noise comments, a lot of the songs felt like they were all over the place. After listening to it, my favorites are: Dance in the Rain, House Party, Gimme U, MONEY IN MY BAG, and Fake Tongue. I'm on the fence about PIECE IN THE PUZZLE, I liked the preview but the full version left me a bit underwhelmed. I'm not sure about HOTEL and Like It either, but they're stuck in my head.

BRILLANTE 16th March 2015 10:49 AM

To be honest, it was a non-factor. It felt noisy for the most part. The only song I could really get into was Like It, because it reminded me more of her R&B songs from back in the day. It has a groove to it that I really like. There are other songs on the album that could be classified as R&B but they're more of a rougher sound that I'm simply not here for. In the end, I think my taste has just evolved while her sound... well she's simply not my thing anymore.

Gubsi 16th March 2015 12:21 PM

after many listens i must say i still love this album.
only thing that bothers me is still the Lippy~Mercedes, i really like them, it's just too samey with that part.
so i've made up my own version of WOML...

01. Introduction ~WALK OF MY LIFE~
02. Dance In The Rain
03. SO FEVER
04. Kimi Omoi
05. Like It
06. House Party
07. Dance ~Interlude~
08. HOTEL
09. Gimme U
10. You can't keep up with me
11. PIECE IN THE PUZZLE
12. Fake Tongue
13. Sometimes Dreams Come True
14. LIFE is GOOD!!
15. WALK OF MY LIFE

i know them pachinko songs are a special release, but for me they're still part of the era.
SO FEVER is the better song anyways and it fits good there.
Kimi Omoi is just there cause i love it and it would be the typical random Kuu ballad throw in the beginning most of her albums.
i put MONEY IN MY BAG out cause i've heard it so much the last weeks lol
but i would place it after House Party or replace Kimi Omoi.

in the end of the day everyone should listen to their own favorite music, if u don't like it ok, we have enough stuff from the past and she has probably a lot more stuff to come this year for her 15th Anniversary.

KuuXAyu-fan 16th March 2015 12:47 PM

She has a break from the tour April 11 to May 2nd with another break from May 9th to May 23rd. Since she'll be a lot less busy with the tour this year compared last year I hope we can get the summer single around late June-early July with 2-3 more singles for the rest of the year. I want her to be super active this year.

oaristos 16th March 2015 03:30 PM

Although I love her remixes, I'm not even expecting another DH since the last one charted poorly.

thinkingoutloud89 16th March 2015 03:52 PM

^I don't think it has to do with the chart position...remix albums are epexcted to sell only a few copies

oaristos 16th March 2015 04:00 PM

^ Well, you're right. Anyway, I'm happy if they decide to release another DH this year :)

Gustavopc 16th March 2015 04:09 PM

Guys, could you help me a bit with mu-mo/tenso? On mu-mo, the Delivery Status of my WOML copies is 転送コムに納品・配送済み, does it mean it has been shipped to tenso already? Cause iirc I had received an email the last time with a tracking number, but I have got none yet

Chibi-Chan 16th March 2015 04:45 PM

I haven't listened to such a damn fucking bad album since ages. I loved "Dance In The Rain" since its release, but all of the other songs are so bad I don't have any words for it. If I had to say something good about the album it would be that I like the chorus of "PIECE IN THE PUZZLE".
Kumi never had amazing compositions, but she's able to pull off some great dance songs. This time not only the compositions are weak, the arrangements are the worst I've listened to in a while. They are all over the place and all I can hear are sounds that hurt my ears and are just noise.
People keep saying this album is "very western". I disagree. This album is what Kumi thinks is western. All those strange sounds in the songs are supposed to be western and therefore "cool". But it's just one big epic fail. I give this album a -1 out of 5.

Corvina 16th March 2015 05:54 PM

Somebody asked yesterday, why Kuu's English pronounciaton was so much better in the acoustic performance of WALK OF MY LIFE yesterday than in the studio version.
She always was pretty inconsistent, but according to that one article beforehand, she also took those vocal lessons before recording to improve her English.
On the WOML album she has some songs with pretty good pronounciation (e.g. Lippy) and some are a bit off (e.g. WOML, thougb as the main title it was probably recorded first).
That she was now so good in comparison yesterday at that live event... maybe it just took her longer to actually transfer what she learned than she and avex expected?
This happens sometimes.
We will know for sure, if she got more consistent, when she's gonna perform the new songs on tour.

Btw. here's the Ninki for this week:

The lyrics are tripe. But if this is the walk of her life it does say something *cough*. Or maybe she really doesn't care about lyrics and this is who she really is. I still wanna do an in depth analysis when I get the cd and give it enough spins. But when I do it, it's gonna be under the impression that every single word on the album IS her and this is the real Koda Kumi. She can't name an album walk of my life and not have that connotation attached to it...

Heavenly 16th March 2015 06:52 PM

I listened to the new album this morning. I didn't want to believe those hard critics I read here, but I have to admit that I have mixed feeling about WOML....
Out of the new songs, the only one that pops out for me is Piece in the Puzzle.
With such a classy/mature album artwork, and with titles like Mercedes, I thought Koda would have served us a very consistant album.
And I am truly disappointed.
Those songs are the definition of bad hip-hop/RnB or whatever you'd call it. It's trashy and not even sexy. In comparison, TOUCHDOWN was a sexy RnB song, an "Epic Win" for me because usually I don't like this type of music.
In WOML, on the contrary, I don't feel anything besides "I don't want to listen to this anymore". The songs from the singles are quite good, even the title song is hearable now.

Well, I think I won't buying Kuu this time, and I regret it :(

kaled kalil 16th March 2015 07:02 PM

Suuure, because a POP song called Hotel needs to have a deep lyric. Okay. haha

Princess_Of_Roses 16th March 2015 08:34 PM

My album will be here tomorrow!!! Or so fedex says. Im so excited!!!!

oaristos 16th March 2015 08:34 PM

There's probably no meaning behind it and she named the album "WALK OF MY LIFE" because she thought it'd sound nice, or because of the song by the same name. Isn't that what often happens in J-Pop? I don't even bother having high expectations.

Corvina 16th March 2015 08:41 PM

You guys forget, it's an original album, not a concept album.
She probably named it WALK OF MY LIFE, cause of the title song, which connects to her and her 15th Anniversary. And maybe, cause the songs on the album are reflecting, what she personally wants to do, as she is stating in interviews. It's the long road, she had to take to get that far, to get that freedom. Her walk of her life.

Zahara 16th March 2015 08:49 PM

I feel like she really doesn't want to be doing this anymore.

kaled kalil 16th March 2015 09:04 PM

^ What? Where did you get that? When she's finally doing what she wants to do and sing what she wants to sing, you think she doesn't want to doing this anymore? Gosh...

Zahara 16th March 2015 09:15 PM

Just based on the quality of songs shes releasing. Totally my possibly incorrect opinion, but I feel like the last album that was really "her" was a cover album.

I'm a huge kuu fan, and I'll always support her, but it's a lackluster release with barely effort in quality. That's not like her.

Tom Punks 16th March 2015 09:30 PM

I absolutely think this is what she wants to be doing. Whether she executed it well or picked good songs is another story lol

Welurru 16th March 2015 09:38 PM

HOTEL lyrics may make very little sense but the 'birds sing and morning call' part remains the catchiest melody on the album.

Mercedes wants to be a good funk song but falls a bit short. Its grown on me though.

kaled kalil 16th March 2015 10:14 PM

@Zahara: This is who she is right now, it might not be something for your taste, but it is what it is. :)

I hope she sells around 60k with this album. :)

Besides this whole discussion about the album, how do you guys think it will be the tour? I might try and guess a couple of songs later on. I was talking with Gustavopc and so many good ideas came to my mind. haha

Corvina 16th March 2015 10:56 PM

We have some little hints on the global FC in the staff diary.

She already shot the tour videos and they didn't want to show the dress she's wearing in them, but the nails:
http://i59.tinypic.com/dzzfw0.png

And here she's picking stage costumes for the tour:
http://i61.tinypic.com/9u0pe0.png

Seems it will be really colorful? And maybe a bit crazy?
A contrasting concept to the album shooting maybe.

KuuXAyu-fan 16th March 2015 11:16 PM

Did anyone get an e-mail about their fc order shipping yet?

I completely agree that, at the least, SO FEVER and Kimi Omoi should have been on this album. Those were some of Koda's best tracks in quite a few years, and the PVs were very well put together. It would have also been nice to even see Whatchu Waitin On? on here. There are just a lot of interesting things Koda could have done with this album. Like a song similar to Alive. Or maybe another techno-inspired dance number like Taboo. Hell, I'd even kill for a song like Poppin' Love Cocktail just to dilute the monotony of this album. It's sad to see her ship this album out. Some of the tracks could be staples, but they just fade into the background because so many of them sound the same.

EDIT: I could see House Party, PIECE IN THE PUZZLE, Fake Tongue, and WALK OF MY LIFE in with HOTEL, MONEY IN MY BAG, SO FEVER, Kimi Omoi, Whatchu Waitin For?, something like Alive, one or two tracks like Taboo. That would have been a memorable record to me.

Minttulatte 16th March 2015 11:54 PM

I find it funny when people complain about WALK OF MY LIFE being so monotone, lame, boring and flat when I remember the same people saying her previous releases were crap because they had more variety musicwise. :')

mi|kshake 16th March 2015 11:58 PM

This may not be considered one of her best albums (I haven't actually heard any of it myself yet, though was a bit concerned by the song lengths at first) but it doesn't mean her next single or album will continue along these lines.

There was a time I dropped out of the Kuu fandom for a bit after being so disappointed in Black Cherry (I find a lot of to be filler tbh) so was out during Kingdom -> Deja Vu but loved Japonesque, which for me showed Kumi at the best at everything she can do (bar the ballads, these could have been a bit stronger).

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is the Japonesque followed Deja Vu and is a much stronger album so we could all be discussing her totally amazing new album this time next year. (I'm sure some of the songs won't be my cup of tea either!)

SKYia 17th March 2015 12:03 AM

People always say crap, they have too much choice in their lives, there's so much music in the world (and you can get it for free easily) they don't feel they are getting something special anymore so they complain when there's something they don't like about it under the pretense that they have right to criticise everything and don't care about neither the artist's nor other fans' feelings.

The magic of the internet, you can be an @sshole and online and still keep your face and be called a nice person offline. If they met Kuu in real life they wouldn't say stuff like "you album sux" but "I love your music so much" (or maybe they would).

There are songs I don't like on this album but I just move to those which I like and I already learned to ignore haters. Actually there a magic option here on AHS that allows you to ban trolls and never see any of their posts again, I tried those on just two people (I'm considering a third one) but already AHS is become a much better place :D

thinkingoutloud89 17th March 2015 12:45 AM

^trolll post are annoying but awsoem from time to time. i stopped beeing a AHS regular when I felt that there is a major disrespect in artist and people. Mostly due to the fact u named - I take it for free most of the time - I feel like I have to treat what i get (or take) better, because I started to just 'consume'. I stopped that in recent years (for example by avoiding singles as much as possible).

Actually, we (people in general) really do have the right to criticize pretty much anything we want. And I'm glad we have that right, because music would be some god awful shit if there was no criticism and every pop tart could release whatever feces she/he decided to smear in a CD case every year without financial repercussions. In fact, one of the biggest problems with Japanese pop is that there ISN'T any real professional criticism.

It's nice that you think you know how everyone who doesn't spout endless compliments feels about music and their favored artists, but you're so off base it's just ridiculous. None of us would tell Kuu to her face that the album sucks, obviously. That's not the proper outlet for criticism. I'm not even sure why you're trying to imply that it's somehow lousy or two-faced to criticize someone's work and then not bitch to the artist's face. Uh, we're still fans, whether we like everything the artist puts out or not.

Regardless, her career extends far beyond a single album, and if we weren't fans of her as an artist in general none of us would be wasting our times sampling the album to begin with. Do you seriously think that just because someone criticizes an album they're haters? Are you really THAT thin-skinned that you're personally offended when someone criticizes the work of an artist you like??? To call people trolls and haters simply because they criticize an album that, BTW, a large percentage of people have described as formless noise? It's not as if one or two people are just pulling insults out of their asses to be mean. When you have a good percentage of legitimate fans making the same complaint about an album, odds are usually there's an actual problem with it, even if best case scenario it is just a polarizing album.

If people were coming in here and calling her a talentless hack or other personal jabs, that'd be one thing. But to imply that people have no right to criticize the music she put on an album is just... wow. No more words lol.

Gustavopc 17th March 2015 12:59 AM

Talking on the tour, I do want it to be colourful and crazy. Bon Voyage was awesome, but there was nothing flamboyant or big about it, and I feel she's gonna strike hard with this one. As the tour has a "15th Anniversary" on its title, I mixed album songs and old tracks My ideal setlist with a bit comments would be:
Spoiler:

KODA KUMI 15th Anniversary Tour ~WALK OF MY LIFE~
00. Prelude (Piano instrumental, nothing on stage, screen showing deleted scenes from the WOML PV)
01. WALK OF MY LIFE (Starts with Kuu on a white dress (not bride dress), dancers come on the second part of the song, as Kuu walks towards the center of the catwalk; during the final chorus she is lifted up and the songs ends with Kuu going up and lights going out proving she's Christ ressurected)
02. Interlude 1
03. Mercedes (Kuu with a cabaret-like outfit, big skirt and colorful clothes)
04. show girl ~ Winner Girls
05. MORE
06. feel (Kuu takes her skirt out here, showing off a tight black dress similar the one in the PV)
07. Koi no tsubomi (Jazz Version)
08. Interlude 2
09. Like It (Outfits similar to those from the live and PV)
10. Remix Medley: BE MY BABY ~ Cherry Girl ~ Trust Your Love ~ Dance Battle 1 ~ Crazy 4 U ~ D.D.D. ~ real Emotion
11. TAKE BACK (2015 Remix)
12. Dance In The Rain (It rains on stage during the final chorus, obviously)
13. Interlude 3
14. FREAKY (2015 Version) (Black and purple dress, rips during the break to show off a mini-skirt and long black boots)
15. Blue Velvet ~ Otoko ~ Selfish
16. Can We Go Back (Piano Version)
17. You can keep up with me
18. Interlude 4
19. Lippy (White, yellow and pink outfit; couldnt figure it out properly, but I like these colors for these songs)
20. BUT
21. Physical thing ~ TABOO ~ Dance Battle 2 ~ Lollipop
23. On your side
24. Cutie Honey
25. LIFE so GOOD!!
-ENCORE-
26. girls
27. Shake It Up ~ love across the ocean ~ Butterfly ~ the meaning of peace
28. BRING IT ON
29. MC
30. Moon Crying
31. Ai no uta (2015 Version)
32. Lick me ❤
-DOUBLE ENCORE-
33. Lady Go! / Good☆day / Chase / LALALALALA (Different song depending on the date)
34. WALK OF MY LIFE (Short Acappella version)
35. walk (It ends with Kuu walking towards the center of the stage, and she starts to be lifted up like in the beginning, only this time she flies around the crowd, and goes back to the stage; screen opens up and she goes "inside it")

Actually, they removed the 15th Anniversary from the tour name some time ago:
http://rhythmzone.net/koda/

My guess still is, that there's something coming in the second half of the year for her 15th Anniversary.

Oh, and you forgot a Mercedes to inlcude in the tour somewhere. xD
And you forgot Sometimes Dreams Come True! She has to perform it!
Even if it's just for me, haha.

Zeke. 17th March 2015 01:10 AM

The thing is, is that you should not let your perceived relationship with an artist bias your opinion toward their less-than-stellar work. It doesn't matter who released it, if it's not good then it is simply not good. Same goes for artists you dislike. Try to judge the WORK without allowing interference from your already established view of the artist who released it. It's fair criticism.

It's like if you have a stylist you love, someone you enjoy talking with and being around, but they keep giving you a shitty haircut. Are you going to keep going to them? Hopefully not. Judge based off of what they deliver to you - the product itself.

Corvina 17th March 2015 01:13 AM

Yeah, but who can judge what's good and what isn't?

Deibel 17th March 2015 01:16 AM

^ there isn't a unique answer to that, everyone has their own. And it's ok.

My response was referring to the comments made about having an opinion without regard for "feelings."

Good and bad is kind of a grey area, and we all have our own credentials for that. It's also based off of music you have encountered in the past and have had positive reactions to, and the intensity in which you felt pleasure or distaste. I actually did a research paper on the neuroscience behind pleasure derived from listening to music, and how musical taste develops over time based off of past experiences.

For me, a lot of it has to do with melody and a progression that makes "sense" - attention to detail in arrangement decisions, scope in which the sound has been fleshed out to it's fullest form, etc.

Doesn't matter what your basis for judgement is, the point is, you should be able to have one and judge the product irregardless of who has released it.

Oh, I hadn't noticed this, damn :laugh There goes my idea of the tour lol
And yes, I forgot about the Mercedes, should have put Driving after the second long medley and put her to drive around stage! But no, I didn't forget Sometimes Dreams Come True, I just hope KUU will forget it :grumpy Only song that hasn't got me of the album

I hope she sells around 60k with this album.

It's definitely not to my tastes, but then again my favorite albums from her are Japoneque and Kingdom, and I remember a lot of people hating on those albums lol.

I wish her nothing but the best. I'm always going to be a fan of her, I just feel that she's lacking...something lately, but I have a feeling it'll take a few albums to get the sound she wants down pat. So until then, I'll support her quietly from the side lines!

Corvina 17th March 2015 01:29 AM

@ Zeke:
I do know what you wanted to say. And you are right. But nobody can be 100% objective. We're all human and because of our experiences our taste is formed and we gonna respond accordingly. Feelings are just part of being human - the main part actually, that's why music works so well.

Also music is a form of art. Art and art reception is highly subjective.
The only thing somebody with the right background can judge is the technique behind something. But perfectionism mostly destroys "good" art. If you know what I mean. And I can acknowledge that something is totally well produced - and nevertheless can dislike it. And the other way round.Though I agree - it's like with love. Don't get blind, just because your highly attached to something.

I guess SKYia just wanted to stress, how rude some people express their dislike, especially on the internet. I actually had a PM with Koumori speaking about it as well - I guess pretty much nobody would be so rude in real life about something like they express it here on the forum here and there.

And that's the only thing I personally really ask for - an adequate way of wording your opinion. No matter if you dislike or like something.

Actually over at JPC there was partly a really great discussion about the album from people who love and people who totally dislike the album. Without swear words and rude comments. Well, mostly, haha.

I know it is difficult to be 100% objective, but it is hard to have a true critique when you are not sure how much of it is based off of love for the artist and how much of it is based off of love for the product. For me, it is rather easy to separate the two, and I guess that is why I am comfortable expressing myself in a manner that can be considered rude. Of course many of us would never say these things to the artist, Hell I'd actually be way more inclined to have it out with the composers and arrangers because that's where 85% of the blame goes (although Ku's voice is a bit of a negative factor this time around), but I think we all choose to express ourselves in a way that is consistent with the emotions we feel and with the intensity in which we feel them.

I don't understand people who call WALK OF MY LIFE "a mess" but wish that the tracks from FEVER LEGEND LIVE were in the album. They just... wouldn't fit.

I often find that to be the case. Even with Ayu. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Anyway, I don't think Kuu doesn't care about her music anymore, I think she doesn't care about making the most trendy music. I think she's challenging herself with new vocals, making music that she herself would like to listen to. Again, I think this is also the case for Ayu with Colours. She wanted to make an album that was just fun for her.

But I feel like Colours AND much of the stuff on WALK OF MY LIFE is what both Ayu and Kumi feel/felt were/are trendy!

I agree lol. The one thing the album has going for it is it's RIDICULOUSLY cohesive. SO FEVER is like... leftover from 2006 and has nothing to do with WOML sonically.

I think so too tbh. WALK OF MY LIFE strikes me as both Kuu making the type of music she likes to listen to AND what she thinks is trendy/cool. And Colours definitely was Ayu trying to be trendy and finally get in on that EDM action.

Minttulatte 17th March 2015 03:01 AM

Yeah, I would block some people but the messages won't disappear like on facebook from my screen because there's a box that says "you've blocked this poster. Would you still like to see this message?" and I end up reading them anyway so it's pretty useless. It's better to just scroll past them without even reading them.

As for my post at the top of the previous page I didn't mean that you can't have an opinion. Of course you can say and like/dislike whatever you want, but I really find it amusing anyway because in the past albums like Dejavu and JAPONESQUE has gotten shit fallen on them, and they got lots of different music styles in them and people has been wishing for Kuu to release a album that has songs that fit together/flow better and when she actually does that, people still find something wrong about it. I really don't get what kind of an album she should release then so people would be happy. I personally am just happy that she still releases music since she did consider on retiring in 2011, but Dejavu Tour changed her mind. :D

Delicious n Bold 17th March 2015 03:07 AM

Queen Kumi really knows how to start controversy. Natalia Kills who.

Anyway about Kumi thinking the songs are cool... Despite being overproduced Lippy is kinda kick ass tbh.

I think the problem with this is... maybe you're just conflating the two camps? Maybe there were people who didn't like JAPONESQUE because it wasn't cohesive enough, but that doesn't mean those fans are the same fans who don't like WALK OF MY LIFE because it's too same-same. They're probably entirely separate groups of fans.

Also, I haven't actually seen anyone say they didn't like WALK OF MY LIFE because it was too same-sounding. I've only seen complaints that the song choices were bad and the album is too noisy or messy. Again, that's not really a related complaint to JAPONESQUE not being cohesive, so they can't really be compared as if fans are just being inconsistent in their criticism.

The way you worded your post ("people still find something wrong about it"), it sounds like you think that her fans are actively looking for reasons to dislike her works, which I'm sure is not the case. From what I can remember anyway, JAPONESQUE is almost universally praised by fans, and Bon Voyage for the most part is liked and few people, if anyone, vehemently dislike it like we do WALK OF MY LIFE.

I'm not. I was very active when JAPONESQUE was released and it got so much bashing that I felt like I was the only one who actually liked the album. And I know very few people who feel the same as I do. It got more hate than love, which I find really sad because the album is Kuu at her very best after all.

Well, to me it just feels that fans are never satisfied with her music anymore (same goes for Ayu's work btw). Every time I come to these threads, people are calling everything boring and then there's me in the middle of all that who still loves everything she releases because she just makes the songs I want to listen to. WALK OF MY LIFE is no exception. I guess I should just consider myself lucky. :D

Yes, they seem to be the same pictures we've been seeing on the website, with 2 cityscape photos. If you would like I could take pics of them too.

Gustavopc: you're welcome!

Corvina 17th March 2015 12:25 PM

Wow, thank you, the packaging is really pretty!
Oh and can I ask you for scans or good pics from the booklet for the song lyrics? This would be seriously great!

Kuu is doing a Line Live Cast directly from tour rehearsals tomorrow on the release date, 7 pm japanese time:
http://rhythmzone.net/koda/news/detail.php?id=1020187

And she is apparently showing the still raw form of one of the choreographies of the tour.
They're calling the tour 15th anniversary tour again. Confusing. xD

Xianghua 17th March 2015 12:59 PM

Sorry Corvina, I don't have a scanner and the lyrics come out blurry on my phone due to the small font… unless you don't mind me taking pictures of the pages in pieces rather than the whole page?

oh, and it came with a lottery ticket you can enter on the fan site until March 23. 3 different prizes:
-a phone call from kuu
-a live rehearsal invite
-participation in an after performance send-off (not sure what this is exactly)

and every participant receives a calendar

Corvina 17th March 2015 01:31 PM

If you don't mind making it in pieces as it's more work - sure, this works as well! :)

Gubsi 17th March 2015 01:41 PM

is it me or did i understand "bubble butt" at the start of the 2nd Verse in You can't keep up with me lmao

especially the 2nd half of the album is really so good!
i'm so pumped to see this live!
and it seems like we have a dance part, Rock part, RnB part and a ballad part this time for her tour

Wow! If its possible I would love to give the code number to someone on the fc to get the calendar, but nobody can enter 2 lottery, if don't have the album only.

If anyone want my lottery I can give it to you when my album arrive, and I pay for the shipement of the calendar.

Xianghua took pictures of the pages with lyrics, you guys... It was posted already a couple of photos of the booklet and, of course, there are some photos of Kumi.

Delicious n Bold 17th March 2015 07:37 PM

I feel cheated almost
When ayu gave us a photobook with love again at least it was a seperate item. I know Kumi is finally flee and can do whatever she wants but this is just disappointing. I got the album mainly for a photobook and not a deluxe lyric booklet. Is Slavex striking back? If the images are hot then I might shut up though :P

Gustavopc 17th March 2015 08:07 PM

iirc it was the same wih Color the Cover, but I remember JAPONESQUE had a different PB from the booklet... So I guess it's just random lol

kaled kalil 18th March 2015 01:42 AM

This is the setlist that I think it would be cool to the new tour. It's more WOML Tour than 15th Anniversary.

Xianghua 18th March 2015 06:17 AM

Sorry for the confusion, there are photos in the booklet but I didn't take pics because they are the same as what we've seen on the website. (So I thought there was no point taking the pics bc you've already seen better quality versions online) Some pics in the booklet are used as the background for those little boxes where you can preview each song. The lyrics are mostly on a black background with exception of maybe 3, which are on grayscale pictures of buildings.
