Also what the hell does it mean to be a queen of legend? They should have just said "She IS a legend" because calling her queen of legend strongly implies that she's dead. Did Namie die long ago and now she's a legend from after the period in which she died? Is she historical but unauthenticated? Are they secretly shading her by calling her a flop now and reminiscing when Namie topped the Oricon and actually sold lots? Are they on to the fans with the fans calling her dead all the time and secretly alluding to that? Or is she just the queen of a generic noun? |

Posted this on JPC so thought I'd share it here too:
Just came back from Osaka where I went for the Oct 4 Osaka-jo Hall show. Namie was AMAZING! I was FLOORED by the light design and staging – I was in the stands so I had a good view of the stage. The LED-rimmed honeycombs are actually really good when seen live in action (even more honeycombs actually came down juxtaposed against the screen midway through the show, and they used that to optimise some of the screen visuals – pretty cool!) . In still photos I thought they'd be underwhelming. Ok some other stuff I liked that I'll put in spoilers (including where the stilt walkers actually come in, i think someone mentioned not knowing where they were in the show): Spoiler:

That's the thing with this song for me, though. I can't tell if it's the kind of fire that's like: 'Holy sheep and Macaroni, dowse me in this s*** it's so good!' or if it's the kind that's like: 'Hot damn. Call the police and the fireman. I played every song between 100 and 200 times and payed my justice. I'm still into Photogenic, birthday, Golden Touch and BWIW2B. As for the rest ... I think the album needs some time to rest now. I'm still not over the fact she betrayed me with the pre-announced albumdescription and teaser only to give me a weaker FEEL.
