Basically, any kind of 'gown' is an Ayu staple. Mostly I'd like to see her try new things. STEP you with my name's WOMEN has gotten stale over the years and some stuff like the WARNING performances are being done... a bit too often.

I think she has used black wedding gown back in Hotel Love Songs Tour for return road performance. Such a shame it didn't make the cut for the dvd

Still sad about that, I really wanted to see that performance, and yeah the dress was kinda like what I have on mind, but it had that weird led flashing heart in the chest idk it worked somehow but I feel a more "simple" dress but in black would be gorgeous! something like the dress she used during M/No way to say at the A Best Live 15th :luv2

Personally I don't see how a different colored wedding dress is any more obvious than a white one? Lol. And for the reason of being different and new, I still think it'd be a fun change.

And actually by pink I was envisioning Gwen Stefani's wedding dress.



Otherwise she's doing the same performance with a different white wedding dress. Changing the color isn't innovative or anything, but it's at least a change.

I think the wedding dress tradition would be easily refreshed just by switching the type of wedding dress up. There are so many different styles of bridal gowns. Ayu mostly always wears a ballroom/princess type of gown. Maybe if she tried a form fitting mermaid style it would feel fresher with a different look. But the miles long train might not be possible then.:laugh

The gown with LED works for me if it like that You were... PV gown. It was hype last year by Zac Posen and Marchesa at gala, don't know why Ayu didn't bring it back again.

Did she sort of had that gown on her 10th anniversary tour? And yeah, i love her gown during Carols and momentum for cdl 13-14.

I think she mostly needs to find new places to get inspiration from. She can only do so much with "Vegas"-type shows before it starts seeming like regurgitation.

Its a shame she didn't make more use of the striking Return Road PV dress. Instead she had "this" for the live performances..

If I remember right, ayu didn't wear dress at her wedding with Mannie. They did it with casual clothes.

She has always said I think that she was never big on gowns in her real life. At most she seems to wear cocktail dresses to events and such.

I wouldn't mind her doing some medley of Virgin Road - M (lol, that looks so weird, like Virgin Road - "M" rated, whatever "m" would stand for xD)with bigass white dress. Maybe it could be even Virgin Road - M - Return Road where for RR the dress would be removed of the outer white layer and go black :o or the other way around, still seems spectacular.

Guess that's the problem when you've worn everything, there's only so many clothes hah.

It's not like she looks bad, or that I dislike her tours, it's just enjoying it, but knowing what you're getting and what to expect. Just harder to shock people nowadays without being completely ridiculous or gimmicky.

Weird how you can get used to/bored of things being big and flashy, the TA tour was really refreshing and fun because it was simple. Wonder if her doing halls will feel the same.

i loved the whole idea of this one, and the fit works so perfect with her body. The dress was absolutely gorgeous.

She have had some really gorgeous music video outfits, i wonder why isn't she using those instead? Like the LED dress from "You were..."i don't think that one ever made an appearance in any shape or form...?

She needs to have known designers design for her, like big designer names. For a Celebrity her class, she can afford it. The Koreans have been doing it for a while now. She can tweak abit here and there for ease of movements. But she chose to wear all those monstrosity.

TBH Alvin did elevate her tour look a bit, but if it's not because of his arrogance and bitchy ass attitude, he probably could do so much more.

Yep! She also used designers' clothes for TA Limited Tour! I wish she would collaborate with japanese designers as well. I remember she used to wear some fancy clothes in some TV Lives around 1999~2000. I remember she wore a Christian Dior dress once.

I am not saying these costumes look good. They don't. I didn't enjoy the concerts any less because of that.

I felt like MIJ outfits and overall look was not very polished, after CdM...but then upon seeing the concert release, I actually thought they looked really nice. I wonder if I'll have similar feelings with this concert -- like the candids don't quite do them justice to the mastered footage.

Premium Case custom was beyond, especially those haute couture from some designer. It was a blast. Don't forget the tie in she makes with Vans. God! She should make another like that!

Well with Alvin she made that photoshoot for Harper Bazaar magazine which was pretty good. She never did anything like it (or am I wrong). But somewhere around Alvin birthday party he started playing dress up with Ayu. She looked like a laughing stock to say the least. Few pictures here and there were ok but often then not she looked downright silly to me or maybe I have zero fashion sense buhahahaaha.

Japan in itself is a fashion capital. It has so many designers that came from there. She could easily pick someone fresh and new and hit a jackpot in her own country, no need to go overseas for it.

While i enjoyed Alvin's touch, i still think it's too much of an editorial magazine stuff that he did, rather than stage costume.
I dunno Ayu always had that distinctive style on stage over the years, even though most of the time it was either hit or miss for me. But it was always something that would get to you. I still liked it better than the middle ground that she's running on right now, it has no feeling anymore.

To be honest the problem is not the designer, but who approves the designs. Her costumes are pretty much hit or miss to me. I feel like the only concert she looks fabulous from start to finish is Arena Tour 2005, everything was flattering and looked expensive, even the About You outfit (which is really cool but it's the most simple of the whole thing).

Arena tour 2005 is my favorite tour! Followed by 2006 lol. I think these were both very well executed tours. 2006 had some meh outfits, but overall I loved it. Born to be... is one of my favorite tour openings.

She rarely opens tours with happier songs, so it's always stood out to me.

Arena tour 2006 and 7 days are my absolute favorites from outfits to playlist, perfection.

My favorite tour is AT09 followed by AT05 and AT06 ^^

Tour itself I love Dome Tour + Stadium Tour very much.

I can't decide xD But I really love AT09, AT10, AT11, AT12 and I guess PCDL. AT08 & AT15 are really great as well but they couldnt make it into the top five xD.

Yet I love the most Ayu concerts from 2005 onwards (but also concerts before that time of course!!!)

CDL12-13 Wake up is my favourite because it was my first time seeing Ayu live. Every time I watch it I feel so nostalgic and happy. It was the first time I met other forum members too and made some life long friends. <3

PCDL is my favorite too! That setlist was amazing. Dome Tour 2001 is a close second.

My favorite is AT10!!! PCDL is also very special to me, along with Stadium Tour.

I only got to attend one! So, I might be biased as far as which I liked the most. But MADE IN JAPAN (because I attended), Power of Music (because of the theme and music) and (miss)understood (because it's just awesome).

OMG this was short but really nice concert. ayu was so happy and I felt her love. I was sitting at 13th arena row (actually 10th, cause there was no 9, 10, 11 rows). and my seat was closest to her 'ship' when it passed. I took a video, I will upload it later. but the ship was quite high and it was mostly for stando rather than arena. well, I saw Zin perfectly close. having good seat in arena is sooo different feeling! it's been 5 yrs since I saw her this close.

Yo-chan was in really good mood today (well, everybody was in good mood). he impersonated a conductor during Voyage which I found funny haha. I think he noticed me taking pics of him. by the way, ayu changed Who... lyrics and sang "because of Yo-chan I kept going on", if I'm not mistaken. you can see the pics of it. it was soooo cute!

yesterday when she was singing while standing at catwalk I saw her from the side and I saw how drops of sweat floated when she shaked her head suddenly. and it was at the beginning of the concert.

She is wearing a corset under her costume. A great thing about corsets is that they accentuate your waist (and hides any... lovehandles) And look how much justice it does for Ayu: the whole outfit starts to look better. Or as some say: F i e r c e.

Ayu has never been fat. She was only wearing outfits/costumes that really did not flatter her. Adding little details, like this make it so much better. It is like; adding the things that were missing the first time. Now I am waiting for those little details that will make that showgirl costume look better.
