I received my copy of DNA

Here're 2 more photos in the CD sleeves that Baidu didn't post

The 2nd shot :tipsy

The DVD tracklist is listed as :

- HAIRCUT
- WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~
- HUSH
- CHANCES ALL

Time duration of the DVD is about 14 mins :s

I like the colour scheme used in the CD sleeves , black & gold will not go wrong at all

DNA 2nd day - #5

https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5852279370

I briefly saw the full PVs for the 3 DNA album tracks

HAIRCUT - 3 seconds longer than the GYAO! version . GYAO! cut the last 3 seconds when Kuu cut her pink wig fringe . For the full PV , at least I can see Kuu's face after that's done

WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~ - less than a minute longer than the version uploaded on avex's YouTube before it got cut

CHANCES ALL - about 1 1/2 minutes longer than the version uploaded on avex's YouTube before it got cut

Frankly I don't know which PVs should be watch 1st , WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~ or HAIRCUT because the respective PVs' introduction becomes the opposite of each PV

So this means

WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~ PV intro - HAIRCUT PV ending
HAIRCUT PV intro - WATCH OUT!! ~DNA~ PV ending

x)

Corvina 23rd August 2018 07:13 PM

Kuu has some video walls at Shibuya station, at the entrance right in front of Hachiko.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...921/2NIcDg.jpg
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...922/AW3EKT.jpg

Pics thanks to Baidu, but Kuu also posted about it in her Insta stories.

Oricon has a reporting delay from some stores for the week of 08/27.
Those missing sales are going to be reflected in the chart week of 09/03:

Quote:

amazon.jp has just very few copies left for DNA, the DVD version (without postcard) is currently even out of stock.
I guess shops in general didn't expect DNA to sell better than AND and ordered less copies from avex to begin with.
I hope this doesn't hurt her sales.

Guess Who Is Back is currently the most popular song from the album.
It's on #124 on Japanese iTunes and also charting in Taiwan, #79 on recochoku (top 50 yesterday), on Spotify it's the song with most streams - 7k after 2 days.
心から i love u is charting on recochoku, too.
I can't even remember the last time album songs of her charted separately, but that might just be me.

Gustavopc 23rd August 2018 07:59 PM

I'm so GLAD we got DNA only half an year after AND so I can already stop pretending that album was good, been listening to it non-stop with LOONA's [+ +]

https://media.tenor.com/images/d86af...1b30/tenor.gif

lovethatkuu&ayu 23rd August 2018 08:31 PM

The Amazon situation is a bit troubling. That tweet from the HMV store about running out of the CD only version makes more sense now. Some stores most likely did take a more conservative approach in orders after AND, and are now having to play catch up.

The video walls are really nice. I'm happy to see avex still willing to invest and show legit support for her.

Chibi-Chan 23rd August 2018 10:47 PM

DNA is way better than AND, but there are still too many tracks on it which are just noise to my ears. Guess Who Is Back is definitley my favourite, I always thought Kuu should do more rock songs, it really fits her voice.
I also really like the introduction. Most of the time I'm not too fond of her introductions, because a lot of them are actually just short songs. For me an introduction should make you interested in the album and give you a feel for it, what this one does.
Other than that, HOT HOT will probably be my summer jam.
Overall I don't like the album and will only keep a few tracks, but well, at least there are some songs I enjoy this time. And please please please, someone convince Kuu to do more rock songs.

jiarongisme 24th August 2018 08:03 AM

FINALLY sat down to listen to DNA. I'm at Kokorokara i love u right now, and I have to say that it's a really great album so far. HOT HOT is gonna be my jam.

lovethatkuu&ayu 24th August 2018 09:59 AM

So....

Apparently stores are still having shipment issues. Amazon.jp has their issues dealt with, but the same HMV that had problems earlier, is now out of the Blu-Ray.

Kokorokara is my least favorite, it's so generic and doesn't fit the vibe of the album at all.

Gustavopc 24th August 2018 09:20 PM

Not fitting the vibe of the album is something that can apply to half of Kuu's discography tho :laugh

Does she still make pamphlets for her tours? Just realised today I can't remember if she had one after WOML

Amazon.JP has had the album out of stock since release date and won't be shipping out more copies for the CD+DVD version until August 29th. Hopefully the 2nd week is good due to restocking and missing Oricon sales from this week. If things go as they are, DNA will become the first Kumi album since Secret to outsell its predecessor and get a better position. It might not be a massive comeback but a step in the right direction that shows investing in promo is still beneficial for Kumi.

LOL yeah! I think the whole listening "to various music" marketing tactic is sort of. Eh. Because the genres presented in Kuu's albums before Bon Voyage were so much more diverse (and messy).

A beautifully huge pamphlet. I didn't even know how to keep mine.

ALfromHELLSING 25th August 2018 03:47 AM

I expected DNA to do better seeing how Ayu's new album sold on its first day but that wasn't the case. I bought 3 copies and will buy 4th whenever I have money to support her so as long as those sales are good enough for her to continue making music I don't really care if she doesn't reach 20k copies with DNA.

Don't know if it was mentioned before but it's her first ever 13 tracks studio album.

Is this the first time DNA was acknowledged as her 16th studio album? Cause on FC site & avex website it just says 2nd album of 2018.

Listening now! :D

I'm very disappointed that neither AND nor DNA are available in hi-res. I thought AND was skipped cause it was an FC album but DNA didn't get hi-res release either. Ayu's TROUBLE is available in hi-res so don't get why AND & DNA aren't. Sucks.

lovethatkuu&ayu 25th August 2018 05:13 AM

^Well to be fair, Ayumi had the advantage of 2 separate concerts spread across 2 versions of the album. A lot of fans bought both versions to get each show. It worked though, as her sales easily got a nice boost because of that approach.

Her numbers are right where they needed to be. If DNA had rolled out of the top 5 on the 2nd day, that would have been a problematic. There'll be a drop out of top 5 on her 4th day, but that is expected.

Zeke. 25th August 2018 06:16 AM

Does nobody seriously love HUSH here??? I think it’s one of her best songs ever, and I say that with confidence in being a severely critical person and the song still invoking a fresh feeling of excitement in me despite being months old.

I’m curious as to what others opinion on the track is, what specific parts in the song ignite a fire in you (good or bad), and how you stack the track up against other hits of hers.

KarenPang 25th August 2018 06:41 AM

2 companies names are listed in the DNA thank you credits CD sleeves

- Cappellini
- Tecno Design Tokyo

They have some very interesting furniture pieces available for sale which I guess some of them are used as props in the DNA shooting

I didn't see their names in the AND thank you credits CD sleeves though

Oh dear looks like I have to re edit my album tags cos I count W FACE inside & outside as Kuu's joint 13th album while I count AND as her 14th :s

And if I have infinite amount of $ , I no doubt will buy all versions of DNA solely for the covers

tenshi no hane 25th August 2018 07:45 AM

I finally gave DNA a listen. It's definitely catchy, I like it a lot better than AND.

It's just a pity I'm getting more and more allergic to her "let's butcher the English language" lyrics. Just get someone to check them ugh. 逢えなくなるくらいなら was a breath of fresh air in terms of proper lyrics. /end rant

I f*** love it, Hush is literally one of the most condensed songs she’s done in a whiiile. My favorite part is when she says “Genjitsu ni tachimukau, oh”(2:52 I think) and you can hear the sound of actual fire lighting up. I get chills every time I hear it.

KarenPang 25th August 2018 01:10 PM

HUSH is definitely the best single out of the 3 limited singles Kuu put out , it's a shame that the PV didn't elevate things :s

Also Kuu's AbemaTV's bpm performance of HUSH could have been better but it was nonetheless a commendable effort

thinkingoutloud89 25th August 2018 01:15 PM

HUSH is one of the best songs of this era, yes - but not that outstanding

lovethatkuu&ayu 25th August 2018 02:44 PM

Another live? Music Fair? Yes! I love when 3 separate generations of artists are paired together. An iconic 90s band (TRF), and iconic soloist (Kumi) and an up and coming LDH group. It should be a very good show.

Out of the 2017 singles, HUSH was definitely the strongest. LIT is pretty good in hindsight, but HUSH is a legit banger of a track. Love the production and the video is underrated. A shame it wasn't given a tie in to help it gain exposure.

YouTube update. The PV for LIT just passed 1 million viewers yesterday evening. HUSH and PARTY are at over 550k each and Haircut is at over 270k.

I didn't like it at all when it was released as a single. I like it now for some reason as part of the album. It's the song that gets stuck in my head the most out of all the tracks. I really like the verses. And my favorite part is "bring it on bitch" lol. And I just recently noticed her saying "hush" in the song! I like that effect a lot.

A lot of my opinions change with time as it did with this song but I still prefer her dance tracks to hush.

I just finished listening to DNA for the first time and I didn't really like it. It doesn't matter how little I expect from her releases, I feel like they all deserve a listen since I've been a fan of Kumi for so long now...

Even though DNA is not really my cup of tea as a whole, it totally reminded me how good HUSH is—this song is definitely going to be in one of my playlists from now on. Also, Guess Who Is Back is pretty awesome too. I can't resist any time she does anything rockish :tipsy

KarenPang 26th August 2018 04:34 AM

Because today is super hot in Tokyo , a-nation has already released the estimated performances time for each artiste on today's last day of a-nation 2018

For Kuu's case , she's scheduled to perform onstage at around 5.35pm Japan time

https://a-nation.net/news.php?id=1064839

Chibi-Chan 26th August 2018 04:46 AM

^it's so hot I'm literally melting. I bought an Ayu t-shirt but since it's so hot one would see every sweat stain immediately and I decided to keep wearing my black shirt instead.

pedronekoi 26th August 2018 04:49 AM

I'm glad they released the timetable because I was thinking on going around 14h but its suuuuper insanely hot! So I'll go around her time. Can't wait to see her live for the first time after so many years being a fan <3

KarenPang 26th August 2018 04:51 AM

Stay hydrated you guys and also hope you 2 have fun later on in the last a-nation 2018 too :)

That's good to know , if possible drink isotonic drinks like 100 Plus , Pocari Sweat or H-Two-O to hydrate yourself

I don't know if you can get coconut water in the combini but if you can , that's another good option as well

Like the pic of Kuu, it's cool!

~angel*ayumi~ 26th August 2018 08:52 AM

my friend also prepared with sunhat and many many bottles of drinks xD
I rly whould love to attend a-nation one day, but i am for sure whould get a sunburn xD

KarenPang 26th August 2018 08:58 AM

The thing about Summer in Japan is the sun rays are strong and humidity is bad

I don't mind if it's hot and windy but if it's hot + humid it's terrible . I experienced that the last few days here and it's so bad until I had to turn my fan to full blast in trying my best to sleep z.z

I think between getting freeze or burn to death in Japan , I rather get frozen to death . At least in Winter I can wear and layer many clothes until I look like a rice dumpling but I can't do that for Summer x.x

Anyway wouldn't be long before Kuu performs at a-nation

Chibi-Chan 26th August 2018 09:07 AM

Anyone wants me to post live updates about the songs performed?

Chris_Duvall 26th August 2018 09:11 AM

^
yes, please :-)

Chibi-Chan 26th August 2018 09:33 AM

To avoid double posts, I will simply update this one with Kuu's setlist.

1. Dangerous
2. IS THIS TRAP?
3. BE MY BABY
4. Talk about how hot it is and about new album and that Chances All is about that everyone, no matter who it is, should have/has a chance
5. Chances All
6. Megumi no hito
7. Some song I don't care about and can't remember. But live it was fun and she threw "money" in the audience. :laugh
8. Poppin' love cocktail

I don't know if there were any changes to the setlist, because I didn't look at it before so that I would be surprised.

It was a pretty great show, I liked it a lot! Her outfit was super cool and she was full of energy and obviously had lots of fun. I'm happy I was able to see her live!

~angel*ayumi~ 26th August 2018 10:13 AM

I wonder if we're ever gonna see her '04 performance, and also '06 with the iconic, yet never performed again as a regular song, JUICY.

Yeah, I've never seen '04 or '06, and don't think I've seen '03 either, I'd love to see them. Were they never recorded? :)

Just got done watching Kumi's a-nation performance and was very impressed. Great vocals and excellent energy throughout. Not sure how she is able to dance and run around so easily in those heels.

I am a bit sad with it. I always think that her previous album wasn't promoted much, so it affected to her sale, but this album is not like that. Does this show her actual popularity to public now? I just care about her. I hope fanclub version would have good sale, I can't check digital chart but I think it is not good as well.

KarenPang 27th August 2018 03:37 PM

Maybe the clearfile bonus giveaway at a-nation Osaka & Tokyo wasn't a big 'carrot' / motivation to drum up sales over the weekend ? :s

After all the clearfile can only be obtained if fans went for both a-nation Osaka & Tokyo but maybe most of them pass it up or something D:

Gustavopc 27th August 2018 03:39 PM

That's pretty similar to how AND performed, if generasia is right it was #16 on Sunday and #15 on Monday. A pity the tie-ins didn't seem to have much effect, maybe if it was a single or the tracks got PVs or whatever. Oh well. At least it was an actual album with many new tracks with just two meh-ish songs. Here's to hoping there'll be a DH9 soon.

I've moved to Japan this year and being here made me realize that the "public" that everyone loves to talk about on "Western" forums doesn't care about none of the artists from more than 10 years ago. So those artists who were really huge years ago now are only followed by their fans from back then. The "public" don't listen to Koda Kumi or Ayumi anymore. They don't know if they have a new release, or they are not even interested. They only know their image nowadays. So now, being here, I understand that there's no such thing as "popularity to the public" when it comes to those singers.

lovethatkuu&ayu 27th August 2018 04:43 PM

It was always going to lose steam on the last tracking day. Ayumi had a similar issue with her album. DNA will perform stronger than AND and her oricon original album sales will be around 45k this year. Avex shipments combined with her touring revenue, she had a good 2018 for a veteran soloist.

Look, something is going on with the Japanese market. I'm not sure what, but sales in general are weaker than they should be. When you see the Sandaime J Soul Brothers barely shipping platinum and EXILE no longer shipping platinum with an original album, something is going on. Japan seems to be encountering the same trouble the U.S. and European music industries are having.

People are willing to watch YouTube videos and buy a concert ticket, but not always willing to buy the album more than likely. Again, EXILE won't break 200k, but that dome tour will be a sellout. For a western example, look at Britney. I doubt her 2016 album sold 20k in the UK. That didn't stop her from nearly selling out 3 consecutive shows at London's O2 arena this year. We're living in strange times for musicians right now. Kumi will most likely sellout this tour, despite only selling between 20k and 25k with DNA.

KuuXAyu-fan 27th August 2018 10:02 PM

In fact, they filmed the Zepp version of the tour as well. They will prolly release it afterwards

After seeing the photos from the FC version, I'm sad the photoshoot for this album is terrible compared to AND's. Weird poses and facial expressions all around :x

Dangerous is my fave track on the album btw. Issa bop :cool

Her vocals this year are amazing. I really hope she will refrain from doing two 60+ dates tours two years in a row ever again. She sounded exhausted during W FACE Live.

Tokyo crowd at a-nation was much more lively compared to Osaka's crowd, which made me enjoy Tokyo date more. She sounded fantastic on both dates tho. Shame she didn't perform PARTY on either of the filmed dates.

I wonder if the other filmed AND Tour Live date will be bundled with DNA Tour Live. It makes perfect sense to bundle them together.

lovethatkuu&ayu 28th August 2018 05:30 AM

I actually wouldn't mind a tour bundle. The question is, were any of the other shows professionally filmed though. The tour for W FACE had quite a bit of footage shot, so another version of the fan club tour is possible.

I have to agree about the super long hall tours. It's not good for her physically or vocally. I was worried about the strain on her voice and whether or not she getting proper rest/recovery time. I'm not sure how she had the stamina for that, but it's just not healthy long-term.

Less than 5k off each W FACE album, which was 1.5 years ago. She's proven herself to be stable and consistent going into her 20th anniversary year. I can't complain after seeing what happened with Miliyah and Crystal Kay. I'm just happy she is still charting well and having healthy yearly shipments.

It is not much different from AND first week sale that was around 14538 and in total was 18946 (according to Geneasia) despite it should be much better. However, I hope it will surpass AND in total sale.

Corvina 28th August 2018 12:40 PM

Those numbers are good enough.
Everybody is falling in sales, she managed to get up about 15%. And we know from AND Tour, that there are enough fans not buying the music anymore, but only going to concerts instead (economy isn't that strong anymore).

Shops like amazon are restocked today.
We will see if that will help her sales or if people who wanted to buy last week but couldn't don't bother anymore to do it now.

Her Japanese FCs released an interview about the album yesterday.
Some interesting points:
Spoiler:

- WATCH OUT was originally for another artist, but Kuu wanted it for herself .
- HUSH was competing with WHO and Work That to be the 61st single.
- she didn't put HUSH on AND, cause she thinks due to its tension it doesn't fit live house venues. Both albums were put together to be performed live. She acknowledges, that AND included songs, that are probably difficult for fans, who like J-Pop, but she wanted those to go to the concerts, cause that might change their perception of them. DNA now has more of her "core" sounds, which consists of different genres,Western and others.
- she had the setlist for DNA Tour in mind, when she finished recording the songs.
- she wanted to update live songs like POP DIVA and UNIVERSE, cause time has passed since they were released, so she composed Dangerous with her husband. She says she feels like she rather rearranged what her husband presented her with that than producing herself from scratch, but things like the melody are done by her.
- HAIRCUT PV was done by the same producer who did Dance In The Rain PV - YKBX - and he/she alredy imagined the song at the time she recorded it. It was done first.
- considering she's in her 7th year of marriage, she asked herself if she should sing about love (remember, back in 2014 she said she's done with sappy love ballads). She says she noticed she still is very much in love with her husband, but she can remember how it was before, so she decided to do it.

She's talking about every song, so if you want to know more, just say it.

Thanks Corvina! I would love to read more if you have the time!

Gustavopc 28th August 2018 01:18 PM

Interesting that WHO could have been a single, it was indeed one of the strongest tracks on AND for me. A pity she didn't give it a PV for the album. Also it's nice to know a bit more about her work with Kenji on Dangerous. Thanks for those info, Corvina!

#3 is not bad at all (tbh I don't know how W FACE managed to get #1 lol It was long due she wouldn't be able to put out a #1 album again). I wonder how her release pattern will be next year now that she just released an album. I myself would like to see just some singles and (why not?) another best+ studio album for her 20th anniv :)

abestfah 28th August 2018 01:37 PM

Yes, please Corvina. To know her idea makes me understand and enjoy her works more.

lovethatkuu&ayu 28th August 2018 03:18 PM

Thanks Corvina, for posting the translation.

I always enjoy Kumi explaining her process. Even though I still have mixed feelings about AND, but I can understand her point of view now. She doesn't want to play it safe and pander. I can respect that, especially when dealing with Japanese audience that resists change as much as possible.

Her work with YKBX is so vivid and cool. I really appreciate the concepts they come up with. I hope they'll do another video again at some point. Her honesty about love ballads is refreshing.

@gustavopc, I think there is a good chance we may get an actual single again before the year ends. A BEST+album hybrid would be great. She is actually long overdue for a BEST. If it focused on everything from Dejavu to DNA, that would be perfect for her 20th.

jiarongisme 28th August 2018 03:36 PM

Indeed, it's long overdue, third universe was for her 10th anniv and there was nothing after it. I'm afraid she'll put out an ~all time favorite tracks~ spanning all her career and ignore lots of great singles that came up after third universe, choping off parts of her career like Namie did with her early 2000s songs in Finally. Most of her post 2010 work deserve to be featured properly imo.

If that compilation were to include album tracks I'd be okay with it though, cause songs like show girl and UNIVERSE deserve a lot more to be in a comemorative compilation than many single tracks out there. And it'd make sense cause in the last few years we haven't had a lot of singles but still got lots of albums.

thinkingoutloud89 28th August 2018 03:54 PM

^I think Summer/Winter kinda served as new best ofs

lovethatkuu&ayu 28th August 2018 04:32 PM

Her website profile refers to the Seasons of Love albums as "collection albums". Using that kind of terminology seems to imply that her last true BEST to her and her staff was Third Universe.

@gustavopc I'm not sure how a complete BEST would be possible at this point. Unless they did something like the LDH groups and used a luxury deluxe 5 CD box. I would hate for songs like Love Me Back, Go To The Top, and WALK OF MY LIFE to be ignored if they did a "selection" kind of release.

KarenPang 28th August 2018 04:53 PM

If Kuu put out a best album to celebrate her 20th anniversary , she should do a good proper 1 that's worth buying

Kuu can do something like what Kuraki Mai did for MAI KURAKI BEST 151A -LOVE & HOPE- where the regular edition cover has the same pose , colour scheme as her debut album cover

It will be nice to see an updated affection cover although I don't know if that might work

Corvina 28th August 2018 05:01 PM

Ok, so here are the essentials of what she's talking about in the FC interview
I rather don't translate word-by-word, at least not in English as it's not my native language, so that's why I'm usually just summarizing.

Spoiler:

DNA is overall described as an power album, consisting of Kuu's core sound, staying independently from those ever-changing times (meaning trends, I guess).
She says the album even consists to 200% of the person she currently is.
She tried to focus on the music and its details and declined most of other activities not being connected to music for it.
She acknowledges, that AND included songs, that are probably difficult for fans, who like J-Pop, but she wanted those to go to the concerts, cause that might have changed their perception of them. DNA now has more of her "core" sounds, which consists of different genres, Western and others.
When the interviewer says, that it's easy to listen to, she's happy about that, cause she recorded in between AND Tour dates and even though she knew already how to put the album together in general from the demo stage, the image changed when she was done recording and she knew how to put the setlist for the tour together at the same time. It was quite hard.
She's producing lives for more than 10 years now and in the last 8 years she also produced her music for performing live. She imagines stuff like choreos and costumes and so on while doing so, but as she also knows from her tour questionnaires that "catchy" songs like the ones from the "old" Kuu and easy-to-sing-songs (at karaoke) are popular with her fans as well, she also included songs from her husband and the writer of "you" (people, who already did popular songs among her fanbase).
So in that sense AND is for her fans and DNA more catchy and for everybody.

HUSH
Contains the lyric part "つま先から頭まで遊び、仕事、、get burned", meaning it's bad if you do something halfheartedly. Kuu personally thinks, that life should be fun nevertheless and if she's missing that e.g. in work, she's going to get burned out.
She usually doesn't put single songs as the album openers, but she felt it would be fitting here. She didn't put HUSH on AND, cause she thinks due to its tension it doesn't fit live house venues and is more fitting for a hall tour. And it has a catchy hook.

Dangerous
She wanted to update live songs like POP DIVA and UNIVERSE, cause time has passed since they were released, so she composed Dangerous with her husband. She says she feels like she rather rearranged what her husband presented her with that than producing herself from scratch, but things like the melody are done by her. In detail she says she took the song from her husband and said to him "I want that part to change", went to the studio, erased parts and composed new melodies being in front of the microphone and kept those her husband agreed to. :laugh

WATCH OUT ~DNA~

WATCH OUT was originally for another artist, but Kuu wanted it for herself .
The world now is overflowing with information and she's wondering how you go through the world distinguishing between the good and bad things (for yourself) without being mislead.
She wrote the song in the perspective of a strong woman, who's finding her "own groove" to pull through.
The interviewer then asks about what she personally thinks about all the social media and the current society of excessive information.
Kuu anwers she's not looking at social media (except her own), but it's alright if people who want to do. With her own accounts like on Insta and LINE she says it's always a borderline situation, but she tries to show the real person she is.

ScREaM
The interviewer says he feels like ScREaM is also a song for social media and Kuu agrees (in the sense of bullies and slanders). There's the expression of "high risk - high return" , cause there's always the possibility of a negative response, but it's better to pull through with it and not to dodge away, to understand it as a chance. (in general the song is about - the Japanese - society and fighting against obstacles in it every day)

CHANCES ALL
There's always a song on every album with a strong message Kuu wants her fans to receive. This time it's CHANCES ALL.
It bascially sumps up her own feelings from the songs before - that everybody should have the same chances in life and take their chances, face their obstacles like women, who are constantly judged by appearance, sometimes even just because they are women, just like Kuu is for example as a 派手なアーティスト, a "flashy" artist.
She wants to encourage here and give love and understanding.

会えなくなるくらいなら
A ballad about the tricky feeling of an unrequited love.
Here she's considering she's in her 7th year of marriage, asking herself if she should sing about love (sexual love). She says she noticed she still is very much in love with her husband, but she can remember how it was before, how she fell in love with him, so she decided to do it.

HAIRCUT
It was the first song done and the producer, who did the Dance In The Rain PV - YKBX - already imagined the PV for the song at the time she recorded it. She says cause the song has a western influence, it was easier to convey the metaphor of separation to her fans with her actually cutting her hair with scissors. The interviewer mentions that for him HAIRCUT also is like the rebound of the heart-broken individual from 会えなくなるくらいなら and Kuu is answering laughing, that it also has the meaning of restart, so you can see it like that. She says she likes the tension of rising again after dropping down in the flow of the album.

Guess Who Is Back
It's a new sound for Kuu and she says she always liked artists like Limp Bizkit, Evanescence and Pink and for this song she tried to do a similar sound like Evanescence as Black Clover asked for a rock song. While being aware of the dance (sound) within her, this is a song with a "high tone" she never did in the past and she wants it to be a call-and-response song with her fans.

HOT HOT
It was a popular song from the start and represents her core pretty well. The recording went smoothly. The interviewer says he find it to be the most fitting to the sexy and amusing Kuu and Kuu answers her fans were saying the same and she was surprised by that strong reaction.

心からi love u
This was the most popular song at the pre-release viewing and Kuu says that's probably because this is the typical grand Kuu ballad, but it does sound fresh within the album.
She has many songs with English titles, so she mixed it here to make it stand out.

Work That
The cute song of the album. It was competing with WHO and HUSH to be the 61st single, but as it has a summer feeling and the relase date wasn't in summer, she pushed it back to DNA.
It's a song about men, who act all good on the outside with strangers, but exactly the other way round in private.

Pin Drop
A song about the silence, where you can even hear a pin falling down. It's a live performance song, where she wants to break that pin drop (silence), finally entertaining everyone. She intially wanted to open the album with this song, but she wanted to end the album with a song, that when repeating the album would give a feeling of starting again.
Another meaning is that of "destination" - getting back to the place(s), where "the pin drop was done", breaking that silence.

It's an album full of different songs and songs to be enjoyed live.
And album to mark her ground in the changing times.

Enjoy, I hope I've got everything covered.

Money was also thrown out at the Walk of My Life tour. What other tours did she do this?

It's interesting that it's always modeled off of American money, lol.

Thanks for the translation Corvina! It was interesting to read.
