Mainly, because the photographer is a woman and I think it is great that a woman has now captured Ayu in front of the camera. It has nothing to do with quality, but Ayu has collaborated with so many male photographers that I actually like she is gonna be portrayed by a female photographer. The woman is really talented.

But also, I like the style of the photographer. Its a bit punk and girlpower and I am so ready for fierce Ayu after a million pastel photoshoots

Ayu is really into branded stuff these days. I don't hate the looks, but its the same stuff that's all over Instagram. I'm just not impressed with these lewks.

It takes me back to the wholr issue of her being a person vs a product from way back when.

This definitely makes her seem like just a vessel to sell merch. But, I don't hate her style.

You are right if you say Japanese are very brand-orientated, they do value brands more than people in other countries.
But I wouldn't say most can afford those. It's more like they set aside other stuff to have the money to buy branded items, so it's usually one or two pieces.

yeah most likley, alltough she also often wears brands were you spend 1000$+ for one piece she also has brands she wears often like Mirror9 or this Jello shoes that are rly affordable for normal ppl, I mean they are still more expensive than H&M or GU but not that exorbitant expensive like versace, LV and Gucci.
I whould have loved to buy this short pink jumper from Mirror9 she wore on an IG photo, but it was sold out so quikly *cries*

Wow, that hair is amazing.

I was really surprised with her influence into the fans' fashion. In the concert, you can see LOTS of people using the mirror9 red sweater. On the other day, I even saw a girl on the subway wearing this sweater and I knew instantly that she was an Ayu fan lol So in a way posting pictures wearing the brands is still a good advertising. But also I think Ayu wears the high luxury brands because she really likes brands and designers' clothes. Remember she has a full Louboutin and Chanel bags collection that she have been showing for at least 10years so I'm not surprised with her posting this kind of stuff on Instagram.

Agreed. I'm loving her fashion (for the most part! sometimes it can be questionable lol) and I'm not the type of person to villainize luxury brands. Her IG is style inspo tbh. From ultra glamorous to streetwear to just casual laidback, there's always something to be inspired from her imo.
