Seems like they're releasing the album versions of the single tracks. Wonder if they'll release the single versions of the PVs when the singles come out. Likewise, I wonder if we'll get PVs like NEVER ENOUGH which has an album version as well. Interesting! Again, JAPONESQUE is so iconic.

I guess I can already answer that for you.
They say they upload around 150 full PVs. But if you count every PV Kuu ever released she has over 170 (cause songs like hands, anytime and even Ai no Uta got album versions, not to mention dance versions like the ones for Crazy 4 U and Hot Stuff on Bounce & Lovers). And that's probably one of the reasons they only stated to upload "according to release date" - not original release date or song/PV release date or something like that. They're free to pick like that. |

The latter are all tour related videos, I know, but the first three are pachinko only and I don't think we get them (except Kimi Omoi maybe, cause the song was officially released, tho the PV never was, that's why I doubt it). SHUTOUT we might not get, but STRIP and GET NAKED as they used the short versions as promo on youtube. Though no matter how we count, the end result is always around 150 PVs altogether. :laugh |

I don't think I could make a top 10 kuu songs but it's very likely show girl would be there. oh gosh what a bop!
On a side note, this weekend I got to watch the JAPONESQUE PVs with my husband, and he has surely heard a lot of Kuu's songs over the last years, but never really got to watch her videos, maybe except for TABOO and BUT. And he was so impressed at the quality of all videos, especially after I told him they were not all singles. I was afraid he would hate Everyday or Love Technique cause of the sappy-cute of it all, but he liked it! He said she really got into the mood of the songs and how they should be portraid, everything matched in the end. I was really happy to hear this, it's exactly what I love about Kuu, she commits to whatever she's doing and the feeling she wants you to get, you'll get. She just inspires me so much :heart |

This has been such a good excuse to rewatch all the PVs, and it has been quite a journey!
I remember very well the TRICK era, with all songs being out from her OH! MY RADIO show (which I recorded most of the songs, from Winter Bell in november to JUST THE WAY YOU ARE in january lol), it was so much fun to spend the whole time pretty much understanding nothing, but when the song came up it was so exciting. The TRICK special live (with magic tricks and all, even levitating!) was so cool as well, even tho we only saw some smalls parts of it, it was a treat. https://i.imgur.com/pGzl1XU.jpg One thing that I miss a lot, now seeing it again, is the connected PVs. All covers are disappointing to be honest. You can barely see the JAPONESQUE name on it. They could, at least, use an outtake picture, and even the "old ones" were already used for the Karaoke Rooms.

She is not working with united lounge tokyo anymore (their last items were BSC DVD/LIT~HUSH~NEVER ENOUGH), so this is one of the reasons for the creative graphic change, I guess.
I also wanna know they the new uploads from HD pvs are not as sharp as they can be. Avex had already upload ESCALATE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YlDy5C2mRs), Brave (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ7yOPpjf00) and others from JAPONESQUE and they are in better quality. I like the regular DVD covers the better, and I'm very disappointed at the limited ones, the typography alignment makes no sense at all. And in all version I don't really like the "sticker" they added to it. And I think JAPONESQUE covers are better overall, the blue TVs fit both outfits pretty well. Wish I was rich so I could get both lol

I actually like all the covers, but they managed to choose silver font on silvery background and golden font on golden background which kinda blends in. I like the Limited Covers tho - they have a certain vibe I dig.

I was looking for some Akina Nakamori related stuff and came across some screenshots Corvina posted back in April about a playlist that Kumi made for AWA. It had Akina's DESIRE in it but also... Hiromi Go's GOLDFINGER '99 :P She was giving us some tips lol And she said reCORD was originally going to be a cover album, now I wonder if those songs from the playlist were being considered for the project.
Also, this made me remember when in 2010 for a magazine interview about favorite summer songs she mentioned COMPLEX's BE MY BABY and a couple of months later we got it on ETERNITY. |

There's something I noticed when I preordered the re(LIVE) Blu-rays. A lot of other artists are selling their concert Blu-rays for a higher price. For example Ayu's last costs 7,300 Yen Ai Otsuka's last costs 7,800 Yen BoA's last costs 7,000 Yen Even LiSA's upcoming Blu-Ray costs 8,000 Yen. Regular edition for all. Only Blu-rays I saw in my quick check being cheaper than Kuu's are from popular idol or rock bands (like Johnny's or Bz). So Kuu's is actually reasonably priced with 6,200 Yen. Interesting to see. |
