Kanon's site has been updated with a new preview song. It's got a lovely cello sound and then it goes into this electronic kind of sound~ It sounds very Kaya-ish. I think it's very nice.

There's also a link at the top to an english page, which is a translation of her profile.

I love the single~ I think it's a beautiful single for a debut. Still doll is still a first love for me. The cello solos are so pleasing to listen to. I love the beginning of Black Bird Cage, it reminds me of Schwarz stein song, and then the strings kick in and it sounds really nice. I really like Kanon's vocals too, her voice sounds really sweet. The music box version is so sweet, I can actually imagine it in a music box or a jewellery box and it playing while you sort for your jewellery. It reminds me of MALICE MIZER's La Collection "merveilles" when you open the special wooden box that contains the CDs/DVDs and it plays the string section of Bois de merveilles.

And now we now that she does actually say Hi Miss Alice in the lyrics.

As for the single, it's fantastic. Kuroi Torikago has a really unique sound, and it's just fantastic. still doll, of course, is amazing and the music box version is really chilling. I always want to play it alongside Marionette-prelude-.

It actually doesn't surprise me that it's not a smash hit. It sounds much different from the mainstream stuff, and unfortunately, a lot of people don't appreciate good ol' orchestral music :/...even if it is pop. But who knows? Maybe in the future she'll be recognized for her talents :yes.

Well, I ordered from CDJapan, but it doesn't actually mention it in the description. I don't know about the other stores though.

I was interested in hearing her song since I saw her featured on WikithePPN's front page last week and after listening to 'still doll' I have to say she's FANTASTIC! It reminds me of a more Victorian / delicate Rasputina, if any of you have heard of the band (if you haven't, you definitely should: it also features cellos and a lovely vocalist, though they're not an Asian group). I can't wait to hear more from her, she sounds very promising!

I don't think #37 is all that bad, really. It's in the top 40 at least, and considering her style isn't a very typical sound the fact that she charted at all is pretty cool - though I think being linked with that anime might have helped out, haha.

Since it is her first single I think it's hard to say whether or not it sets a bad precedent for her as an artist - not that I think any of you guys are saying that, though!

Well, the style of the single isn't exactly what the general Japanese public will jump up and down to listen to, so I think that it's doing quite well. But hopefully she'll do better with future releases.
