All about promoting the song pretty much. And I expect it to be more promotion for it in the next days/weeks, as the album release comes up, and this is still the debut song and a second single has not been announced yet. Besides it is too early to start promoting a next song. Look at all the big stars, and how long they promote one song before another one comes out. So I would think that's why. And it's good that tghey focus on one song for longer.

I'm going to enter this with my friend as well :) I have yet to tell her though, but I know she would end up trying out for it too. She's a good singer too, so I have high hopes that she will win. If I win, I'll take her and her boyfriend with me, along with my boyfriend too. If she wins, she'll do the same thing of course. I don't know though, there is so much competition out there. I'm glad that there is 3 place winners though, makes it better. I'm aiming for that trip to Japan though! Even if it's on a school day, I'm missing :laugh

It seems there's a case of "Serial Karaokist" going around. People see a new Karaoke Contest and must enter it on a whim, having not even heard the original song that they're trying to sing. You can tell where they switched in the recording for the live at the very beginning of her singing. Her live must not have turned out any better. I am thankful for the editing/mixing they did when showing her other performances. It hid the many flaws.

So I'm watching "Taking The Stage" on MTV and you know how on "The Hills" they'll play a song coming back from a commercial or in the middle transitioning between scenes or going into a commercial?
Well Utada's "Come Back To Me" just was used like that in "Taking The Stage"! I got all excited. Still am. These 2 kids who are in a weak relationship who'll break up any moment now were talking and Utada came in the background singing the chorus right after the bridge "Baby Come Back To Me" and then they parted ways looking back at each other and Utada came in louder with, "Baby Come Back To Me!", with the "La La La La"'s in the background of the chorus towards the end and you could hear it perfectly and then it faded away to commercial. It was so appropriate for the scene. Finally. May not be radio, but it's my first time hearing the song somewhere else other than my iTunes, iPod or streamed online somewhere. |
