Sexy little things: OMG SOMETHING NEW FROM HER FINALLY DAMN IT'S SO UNIQUE. sorry but I can't even express my feelings in captalizations. A big, positive shock. All in this song is fantastic. I can lol now at people who as first heard preview and said that her voice is cutesy. IT ISN'T.

count down: Reminds me of ballads from her old albums, but it's still something we haven't heard from her before. Verses are awesome, but I couldn't stand choruses. :(

Lady Dynamite: melody is going to be great in full and HQ... LOVE IT. It's song I'm looking forward the most to hear in full. Like count down, reminds me of her old works (SURREAL vibe? xD). I imagined pictures from PV we've seen and... It's suitable imo.

As I was saying on JPM, I really think her English is great! I mean, I saw bunches of fan videos, from England and Singapore, and she seemed very comfortable with the English-asked questions, and her answers were good!
And unlike most of people, I really enjoyed her CNN Asia interview, and I really think she did a great job!

Her pronounciation has gotten a lot better, I agree. However, sometimes I got the feeling she didn't really understand what we were saying.

Especially when fans told her about a postcard (or something) they brought for her, she just looked at them with pouted lips and eyes that said "I don't understand a word you're saying". (but that doesn't matter anyway cause I'm sure she read the card / book very carefully afterwards)

But her English has really improved! :yes and she was just so nice and delightful! Truly a good-hearted person she is.

Yes, he's talking about the recording studio, Metropolis, and that Lady Gaga recorded there too. A lot of famous singers have recorded songs there :laugh Just check the list on their website (they included Ayu too) ;)

My thoughts on 3 previews:

Sexy Little Things - so cutesy!!! I love it! I love its "errie-ness" on its composition and the beats are so very catchy! (My fave so far)

count down - it sounded like a dramatic-kind of rock, fated-ish.

Lady Dynamite - NOPE! I'll skip this one. I rather to hear it with a surprise! :)

i don't think SLT is cutesy to be honest... it does sorta give me sorta like a 40s-50s vibe type of thing for some reason. Not sure quite how to explain it. The words escape me right now. Btw, just the song. Not the PV.

Also, with Lady Gaga, i like most of her music, but i cant stand her herself.

all 3 songs sound pretty good so far! the most catchiest is Sexy little things. it's so different! i also really like count down, since i love these kind of rock ballads. and i think i'll have to listen to Lady Dynamite again because i forgot what it sounds like. :laugh but i'm really impressed! this album is turning out great!!

When discarding that bias, you can realize that the same applies for Japanese pop. Sure, there is a lot of crap on the Billboard 100, but in all honesty, a lot of that crap is 100x better than what's on the current Oricon chart. This is not directed at you, but I just feel the need to comment on embarrassed I feel when people hate on American music, but then glorify Japanese music just because it's Japanese and supposedly exotic.

Hey i agree. There is quite a bit that sounds the same out there on the Asian markets too. Trust me, I've found quite a bit. I honestly and personally don't think that Ikimonogakari for example sounds all that original. Also, I can't help but notice all the girl groups and boy bands to show up in Korea lately....

I've been listening to Jpop since 1997, so actually I find I also know some artists that many of the younger people today aren't familiar with. Like I was first there when like Namie and ELT were first starting out.

Also, i dont glorify it cause its Japanese or exotic in any way. To be perfectly honest, i think no matter where u go, whether it be music or anything else, theres always problems and such. And of course, with music, some of it is also opinion. I think about the oldest Asian artist i listen to and am quite a fan of (and not cause of anime tie-ins) is L'Arc~en~Ciel.

Also, something neat,(although off-topic) is I was about 6 years old when I was in Japan and saw the very first episode aired for the first time of Sailormoon.

No matter where Ayu got these ideas I'm always happy with Ayu, her life, her courage, her strength, her lyrics etc. All that has made me feel stronger and has helped me through some of the absolute worst experiences and situations of my life. It's always inspired me and gave me the strength to get through everything. I think if i didn't have her I never would've made it through some very horrible things I experienced.

So i honestly could care less where she got the ideas from as long as she keeps being that hero and wonderful person we all know we wanna be ourselves.

I hope it has a preview from every PV like NEXT LEVEL, and not just a behind the scenes of something and some single tracks like (miss)understood's CM was (using (m)u as an example because of the similar amount of PVs)

:S I'm pretty sure Ayu does occasionally turn on the radio. And Lady GaGa's albums have been doing quite well in Japan... so it is doubtful that somebody within the music industry has yet to hear of a current phenomenon.

But again, I doubt Ayumi thought "Let's copy Lady Gaga!" I really don't see the problem with simply incorporating a bit of London-esque high fashion in her PVs. The music video industry has been around since the 1980s; you cannot have a completely unique music video each and every time. So, people should just learn to embrace individual representations of at times similar themes in these videos.

And like others have said, I really don't see being compared to Lady GaGa as a bad thing. They are both talented and sexy. Let them do their thing~

i honestly dont find lady gaga sexy whatsoever. her fashion is ugly and i was really turned off when she said that something about wanting to sleep with like every rock star. The only thing i admire about her is about how she stands by the gay/lesbian community.
