I was like "What???" when I saw this post.

Major companies are in the cost-cutting process right now and I bet, perhaps, they can't afford Ayu.

Andali 13th May 2010 11:45 AM

meh, she gets along fine without them :D

ayu_ready? 13th May 2010 02:47 PM

weird about ICONIQ...hasn't she appeared in 8 CMs already...including super car, kitson, Starbucks etc? huh

tokyoxjapanxfan 14th May 2010 05:27 AM

^ those deals may have been bought for her by avex *shrugs*

the difference between being "wanted" and actually being used is different.

iunno, this shouldn't surprise us...

if a bunch of companies wanted to use ayu...she'd be in more commercials o_O.
but she isn't...

haha

avex paid a lot for those.

And this poll thingie is weird since it kinda comes from a place that's famous for Erika Sawajiri topping every poll that includes female celebs... haha.

Dinex_Taiwan 14th May 2010 10:58 AM

I remember last time in a similar poll ayu was on No.10 due to the same problem
Now since the position declines, I don't care about this result very much:)

Ayu should be in like...a Japanese Tiffany's ad :yes

CHE.R.RY 15th May 2010 02:09 AM

Ouch poor Noriko Sakai and Erika Sawajiri! Are the Japanese ever going to let Erika off the hook? :laugh

As for Ayu..so they don't want to use her because of her voice? And because she has groupies??? I'm not sure I entirely get what it's saying.

And about Anna Tsuchiya, I agree that she is a bit rude at times. I guess that's just the way she is...just by looking at her you can tell she has a gruff and rough way about her.

CHE.R.RY 15th May 2010 05:19 AM

SURREAL__RAINBOW 15th May 2010 05:35 AM

emi♡ 15th May 2010 05:47 AM

I find it so stupid. People have been stupidly calling her a ***** just because she had an entire day when she didnt feel like doing any promotional work and was in a bad mood. She did state she had some serious personal reasons. Now people have been judgind her based on her divorce, which is her choice.

Everyone hates on Sawajiri because she has the most potential as a "triple threat".

I like her talking voice

I like it too unless it's that cutesy high pitched talking voice. I like her normal talking voice.

You know, I don't care very much about Ayu's desirability for commercials. Groupies & her voice sound a lot like fall-back reasons. It's more likely that Ayu would outshine the product and they're all intimidated by her.

What really threw me about this was what they said about ICONIQ. I always get culture shock when I see things like this. I mean, it makes sense... the shaved head (which is absolutely beautiful in my opinion) goes against the feminine stereotype, and we all know how important gender roles are in Japan. It still jarrs me each time.

Japanese public don't like Erika Sawajari for a NUMBER of reasons, not because of "a bad day". Japanese media is reporting about Sawajiri's bad behavior for years and years, her agency fired her because of her bad behavior, she has been accused of bullying young actress...

Regardless, she's still extremely popular. She's the "love to hate"-type of character, the Japanese public is completely obsessed with her.

a_kingdom21 17th May 2010 01:16 AM

does ayu still hold the number of 100millioon yen each commercial..

microphone 17th May 2010 07:47 AM

Panasonic and Honda seem to like her a lot! Two of the biggest companies in the country (and world) want to hire her so I have no bad feelings toward this poll.

Ayumi's cute and small voice is really fun... She should talk like that more~

Don't be sad people. These companies have to be selfish in order to ensure the survival of their marketing. To get it straight, this is just about their company pride. What you people don't see the message within is the possible results caused to the company, and that is their message.
