Hi everyone!
Just thought I'd share a quick report of the show I went to on Sunday at Yokohama Arena.
Firstly ayu's voice was amazing, definately the best its been for the past 5 years or so, I would even go as far as saying she sounded her best ever!!
The arrangements were really cool, and fresh as she had the strings + brass section + the usual tour band.
I thought the best performance was M and "a song for xx" which were parts of the "pain" segment of the show.
The orchestral rock rendition of M literally sent shivers down my spine it was so awesome, althought sometimes the music overpowered ayus voice a bit during the verses, but overall it still worked.
Anyway it was a very enjoyable show and it was nice to see a more casual and i suppose experimental side to ayu, through the show.

Thanks for your report!

Kashoku 17th May 2011 06:54 PM

Why do you need interludes if there are no costume changes.......

truehappiness 17th May 2011 06:57 PM

Probably to let Ayu's voice rest.

It's so nice being able to see many reviews, but I love that they're all positive! It seems there's nothing negative about this show at all. :D

I can't wait to see what other songs she'll mix in. Now if only she would sing no more words... :laugh Just kidding, I'm not complaining at all! ;)

That's because I never bother posting when something makes me happy.

I enjoy a lot more of her than most of you think. Rock 'n' Roll Circus was flippin amazing. Love Songs album - perfection.

I'm just extremely disappointed that Love Songs got freakin robbed.

And by the way, it was a question, not a *******ing complaint.

Taru86 18th May 2011 01:14 AM

It's so good to hear how good her voice sounds! I admit that at first I was a little on edge with this show, just not knowing what to really expect. But from reading the reviews, I'm really exicited about it. What gets even better is that I will be in Japan for a couple of months this year, so I actually have a chance of seeing this concert!! :)

tokyoxjapanxfan 18th May 2011 02:36 AM

During "Catcher In The Light" which was the first musical interlude, Maro is the main dancer, but then the others come out. It was really good. Kind of eerie? It felt like he was a demon or something, and kind of angry? I don't know...don't take my word on that part haha.

Then for "WONDERLAND", the clowns come out to entertain the audience. :)

Also, I believe it was mentioned, but there are "segments" for the songs. Each word shows up on the screen above the stage, and then disappears when Ayu (or whoever) comes on stage.

feel → relax → imagine → sorrow → pain → smile → change → joy → cheer → to be free → remember

*In regards to imagine, sorrow and pain...I might have them mixed up :-\ I wish I wrote this right when I was done seeing the concert, but I thought it had been written already so I didn't bother >_< Otherwise I would have remembered the songs in each segment...It seems as though these words, or at least some of them, were added to the Yokohama dates and were absent from Hiroshima? That's what my roommate gathered from some posts on Mixi. There's also a "correct" list of the words there, but I don't know how to access stuff on Mixi haha. Mine is pretty correct...I'm just unsure of three of them haha.

*Oh and truehappiness, I went to the 5/14 show ;)

MissElin_ 18th May 2011 10:16 AM
