Oh, interesting! Thanks for asking her :) I saw she was on Twitter too...maybe I should go back there one day just to ask her stuff :tipsy

Just as a note for people, I've uploaded SingerSen's entire discography onto AHS. Download links are all Medafire. :) Thread is here! Just as a heads-up, there's no point downloading the Ghost Street EP if you already have The World in my Eyes...but Sirens is worth a look, as it has a few other songs that weren't released on the album.

Pommy, thank you so much for the translations. I once tried google translate for her lyrics, but that wasn't the most accurate of translations, as you can imagine.

Thank you for the download links Koumori. Without you I'd never have discovered this amazing artist. :love

Super excited to listen to her album~ I'm going to set aside an hour of alone time and light some candles just for it, heheh.

Enjoy! :heart That sounds like a pretty perfect way to listen to it. :) Come back and tell us what you thought~

Okay....so I've accidentally checked Pomsy's post on Facebook With Snow Queen. I actually didn't think i'll like her voice after i listened to her for the first time, since most of the chinese singers i've heard are way too soft for me, but the sound of the music intrigued me and had to download the album...after listening to the whole album i hear she's got quite a power in her voice. And she can soften it up where she needs to. I have to say i had never heard anything like that. It's creepy, haunting and unique and her voice just gives a perfect spicing. Not mentioning the arrangements, the creeping/poping in guitar out of nowhere, strings and piano...just breathtaking.

She's deffinitelly a unique case. I am absolutelly stunned.
This absolutelly will become a "to listen to" artist in my list!

I think my faves are Wolf (love this one a lot), Footprints, Asura, Sirens and Snow Queen.

I don't know why but with some songs I get a "GACKT" feeling lol well more like his early works where he used lots of different sounds and instruments for his songs. The experimenting period. Strange of me, I know, i am just probably HEARING things i want to hear xD

ph and Koumori Thanks for all the links for download!♥

@susio: Oh hoho, I totally understand! Google Translate is really a pain :laugh

@artcika: Hehe please "accidentally" click on more of my recommendations next time :D

And I love Ghost Street!
It was hard to translate since there's a lot of imagery that non-Chinese fans wouldn't really get because she uses a lot of idioms that gives you a picture of ancient China. I tried to translate it to a more modern view of urban cities :)

Ghost Street (簋街)
The neon lights of the city
Is ready to stir up a fever wave in the air.
My heart is filled with hope again.
Standing at the familiar street corner,
Your smile keeps on emerging before my eyes.
I like you taking my hand and walking ahead together.

Tonight I’m where I wanna be
Tonight belongs to you and me
Tonight I’m near infinity
Feel like I’m gonna shatter
I am gonna crack

The sleepless night
Is like a couple-in-love's happiness.
Keep on blossoming to your heart's content,
I want you to embrace me
On this passionate street.
My heart goes towards the dreamy night, the tender night.
Gather all of the shadow streamers for this complicated night, this luminous night.
My heart goes towards the dreamy night, the tender night.

Tonight I’m where I wanna be
Tonight belongs to you and me
Tonight I’m near infinity
Feel like I’m gonna shatter
I am gonna crack

The brilliant lanterns has just been lit up. The joyous night is still young.
The bustling traffic, the rippling red lights.
The lively and vigorous city, the overflowing emotions leaves a pleasing fragrant.

Monologue:
When the night arrives,
I know that this city has just woke up.
I am enjoying
The penetrating warmth in the air.
Tonight, this city is mine
Just like I am yours tonight.

^lol i did click on that video you posted there out of curiosity because of the part of the lyrics....waiiiiit it was Sirens that was accidental xD Snow Queen came after xD

pommy48 14th December 2012 09:15 PM

^ It was Siren :luv2 :luv2 :luv2
My favorite! I've been repeating it all day lol

koumori 14th December 2012 09:16 PM

@artcika: Glad to see another fan around! :D I agree, Sen is really experimental and it's so refreshing to hear..she just brings so many different sounds into her album, and it all works :heart My music library is pretty varied, but she stands out by a mile.

@Pommy: You are the best :weep :heart I linked the translation in the first post. Ghost Street sounds almost like a story, quite different from the others. It's actually kind of nice, since I didn't realise it'd be a love song..:laugh

pommy48 14th December 2012 09:21 PM

Lol the English title is quite misleading cause the Chinese title is actually a real street in Beijing.
But the Chinese lyrics have this sort of fluidity to them, so I tried to translate that across a bit...(Yay~ I'm learning to take creative liberties with my translations muahaha)

(After googling, the whole song made sense to me lol)

Now you guys have a picture to the song!

koumori 14th December 2012 09:27 PM

I wonder why they called it Ghost Street then? :thud But oh well - thanks for telling us, I feel a bit more clear on it now. damnit, why don't I know Chinese :weep

pommy48 14th December 2012 09:30 PM

Oh! Cause 簋街 is pronounced as gui jie

But ghost in Chinese is also pronounced as "gui"

So she made a multilingual pun :thud

koumori 14th December 2012 09:34 PM

...but..but no one would get it if they weren't Chinese...oh, you multilingual jokers. You're so mean. :laugh

BlackSilence 14th December 2012 09:35 PM

^^ lol a multilingual pun xD that just makes me think of....GACKT.... again.... and his word play xD *shots self* gaaaaaaaah~

btw Snow Queen kinda made me think about Evanescence's Snow White Queen

Thank you so much for all the translations! ^_^ I really appreciate it.
Would you happen to have translated "Shadows"? I would really like to know what that song is about. o.o

pommy48 15th December 2012 12:58 AM

I'll probably translate that one next week :)

The less words she uses, the harder it is to translate :laugh

Bad Wolf 15th December 2012 04:22 AM

omg pommy you are an angel :heart

sesshy 16th December 2012 01:50 AM

I have Sirens and Ghost Street (both versions) on repeat. She's weirdly cool! :laugh
