Look at the music industry in the US/UK. It's hurting because of all the illegal downloads, and it's certainly the same case in Japan since only two singles sold more than a million copies this year.

Where have you been? ALL of AKB48 singles released in 2011 sold over 1 million copies (5 singles). Not to mention some of them sold more than 1 million in a day which set the new single sales record of all time in Japan.

And i understand the frustration of some people here, you spend your hard earned hundreds dollars on something and other just wait at home to download it for free. But face it, not everybody has that much money, most of us here don't live in Japan, 300$ maybe not much in Japan but in our countries it's huge money. And i don't think sharing the Complete Clip Box here would affect the sales at all. Not everybody will have the time and/or data quota to download all 4 BRD (which is 124GB).

I actually meant to write a few, rather than 2. It's still the fact just a few years ago, a million seller single was just enough to get in the top 10 for a year. Now the only "artists" that can sell more than a million are a marketing/cash cow girl group. It can't be denied that piracy has had a significant effect on entertainment worldwide. Anyway, I don't mean to go off topic, or start an argument.

What's everyones favourite PV from this box? (Audio, video wise). I think is this LOVE?? looks absolutely phenomenal.

Honestly, the price of something shouldn't matter. Illegal downloading is illegal downloading, plain and simple. I'm sure everyone here does or has done it before and if you add it all up, it would cost way more than this box set. How much the cost of something that was downloaded is just semantics because no matter what it is ultimately wrong. Or ultimately right if you believe that music isn't something that should come with a price tag. :)

^I support to buy music,I bought music.Almost all my money is destined to music(specially Ayu). And the correct thing is:if you like the music one artist does, you must support.Agree with you.But there are some people who need the money for other priority things~
I don't want to talk about this anymore

I honestly don't think that illegal downloading really has any effects at our level.
imo, illegal downloading was an inevitable consequence of the industry's inability to recognize peoples' laziness, and properly take advantage of the internet.

Unfortunately a lot of people think this way and try and justify their illegal downloads this way. Blaming others because they don't buy something.

There's multiple areas of proof that illegal downloading hurts every part of the industry significantly. When you have seen like I have people lose their jobs because of illegal downloads, maybe you'll have a more mature and adult view on the situation. In 10 years when hardly any record companies/film companies are around, this is the reason why. Illegal downloads devalues a product to the point where people seem to think the product is worth nothing. Look at the anime industry as well, that's hurting extremely hard (especially in the USA) due to fansubbing/illegal downloads.

I did notice that sparkle looked very good last night, however I was so tired after watching so much that I think I stopped focusing on the image quality and just on the music instead.

Yeah, mine seems to have arrived at a nearby DHL facility, hope I will get it when I get home today. Are you from the U.S. as well? Do you know if U.S. customs will charge tax for this? Thanks!

Yeah I'm from the US and there was no customs charge.

I actually got my Clip Box about ten minute after my last post!

They can release a cheaper overseas version on DVD because the DVDs will be region 3 locked (almost all DVDs in Japan are region 2). With Blu-ray, Japan and Hong Kong are in the same region and that's why there won't be a Blu-ray release outside of Japan. People in Japan could import the cheaper HK version for 1/3 of the price and not need to worry about region coding. It's the same reason I don't see overseas versions of her concerts coming out on Blu-ray, at least not for a while.

As for illegal downloading, it isn't okay to steal something because you can't afford it. People will do it anyway because they can and they won't get caught, but that's the bottom line.

Personally, I saved my money, foregoing a lot of Black Friday deals and Christmas shopping and even selling off a few items so I could afford it (my copy is with the DHL courier now). Someone said they couldn't buy it because they wanted to preorder a Final Fantasy game; if I told you I had downloaded that game for free you might see where I'm coming from.

At any rate, I'm not sure I would have purchased this on Blu-ray had I known most of the videos were going to be upscaled, and a much cheaper overseas version was going to be released on DVD (I have a region free player that does a nice job of upscaling SD material). I'm also not impressed by what I've seen of the packaging or the bag. By the time the early reviews were in, my copy from Amazon was already "Shipping Soon". At this point I'm just hoping I won't be too disappointed.

By the way, I just found this forum when I was searching for some reviews of the box set, so hello. ;)

I was waiting for the HK version but now I'm not sure if I really want it =/

Idk... I think I prefer to buy 6 or 7 old singles I don't have, but this is like a 'collector thing' D: I still don't know what I want T___T

...

About Piracy...
I don't like it, but I don't hate those people who can't buy original things... Obviously I download ayu's singles, albums, PVs, everything you upload here, but I try to buy it too... If someone can't afford original stuff I don't care if they download it (Even if I can, I try to rip my owns DVDs to upload them to my blog), one thing is sure: Artists will always have fans who can buy every single thing they release...

Stealing is NOT the right term. It's copying.
It's only stealing when otherwise the people would get the money, however if you copy it because you cannot afford it noone would get money otherwise -> no stealing.
If you download it though you can afford it it can be defined as stealing.

Downloading something because you cannot afford to buy it does not hurt anyone. I don't support piracy as a practice overall, overall it DOES harm the industry, but I think we do have to look at which acts actually do damage and which don't.

Is the overseas DVD playable on european DVD-players? If so I might get that one. 60€ is affordable to me and a fair price and it being bluray isn't all that important to me, I just want all of her PVs and CMs in physical form(right now I only have around 1/3 of her PVs)

So under your definition, someone out of work can go into a shop and take a CD because they can't afford it?

Just because you can not afford something does not make it right to "copy" something.
