^ according to Karen’s post they’re releasing her whole discography, minus her super monkeys stuff, which I guess makes sense since they were signed to Toshiba EMI even though Namie was solo on a lot of their songs, and Ive been getting into it recently. But yay for digital release of 95% of her stuff plus the live recordings from 25th anniversary Okinawa Live and Finally tour. That’s really awesome and I’m excited for it!

From the post that natalie.mu published last night , only the material that Namie released when she was under avex

So material that Namie put out when she was under Toshibi EMI prior to her switching record labels , it wouldn't be made available digitally , for now

It's all on there now. Her whole discography. So glad it's available now, it bothered me not being able to stream her stuff and having to have the files seperately on my phone. I noticed some tracks from Checkmate and 181920 are missing. I figure the checkmate tracks are missing because the featured artists arent on streaming (like yamapi) and the 181920 tracks that are missing are from her super monkeys days.

I hope we get her Super Monkey's stuff one day. I really want dance tracks!
I noticed on the Finally live tour album, they included the orchestra instrumentation for Finally! :luv2

Wow, I'm really surprised/impressed! I knew this was going to be a big deal for Japanese fans, but she even has her own promo banner in the American iTunes store!

There's also offline promos in Japanese stores:
https://twitter.com/ah20100926/statu...02845749092355

I wonder if they'll fix some of the sorting later.
_genic and Uncontrolled are listed as compilation albums, and the SSWD/Love Story single is listed as an album :laugh

Also... according to some fans on Twitter, Namie was spotted in Hawaii a few days ago!

hud 16th June 2019 12:59 AM

omg I'm so disappointed she ignored Spotify.

EndOfTheWorld 16th June 2019 01:11 AM

The US promo is amazing.:luv2
I don't stream very often but it can be annoying sometimes not having Namie there.

haraiso 16th June 2019 01:13 AM

^^ Apple probably offered her a generous amount for initial exclusive streaming rights hahaha

I'm guessing anywhere from a few months to a year and she'll start appearing on other streaming platforms :P

Celaphorce 16th June 2019 01:21 AM

While I'm excited to see that her music is available on iTunes now, I'm a little agitated at whomever had the task of separating singles/compilations/studio albums, it's a bit of a mess lol but my only minor complaint. OTHER THAN THAT!!!! Bring on the b-sides!

ladyluthien 16th June 2019 02:11 AM

I am really surprised at the american itunes promo too!
When I saw that Namie was spotted in Hawaii, my first reaction was "new musss-" arghhhhh
Either way, I feel all giddy seeing new stuff from Namie even though it's not new lol

Xianghua 16th June 2019 02:57 AM

AHHHHHH I had to check and see for myself!
That's great, even though I'm not subscribed to Apple Music.

They've made 5 playlists: Essentials, Next Steps, Deep Cuts, Inspired, and Love Songs.
The Inspired playlist consists of other Japanese artists.

I wouldn't expect less from Namie legend hahahaha
I don't have Apple Music but I'm really loving the attention she's getting again :luv2

Wow, they’re going all out. I don’t have Apple Music so I can’t see the playlists, but I like the iTunes banner. I did a quick check and the 25th anniversary live album is available to buy on regular iTunes Store, but the Finally tour is not. Interestingly it’s copyrighted to Stella 88 inc. not Avex or dimension point, so maybe she did buy out some of the rights or struck some kind of deal with Avex.

The Finally Tour is up there! :)
If you search Namie and go to the albums section, it's like the very last one listed.

I still can't believe that it's available WORLDWIDE!!!! yaaaaaaaaas

I'm even shocked that they even translated the playlist names and description to Portuguese!!!

ladyluthien 16th June 2019 05:59 AM

I see they included WANT ME, WANT ME on the Love Songs playlist hahaha

Thanks, I did another search just to check again and it doesn’t show on google search, it’s only Apple Music links. I think it is only on Apple Music. Interesting playlists. I like the essentials one Can you celebrate is definitely her biggest hit and a classic.

EDIT: Finally tour did show up. I think it was just my phone glitching and not showing some of her stuff until I specifically searched by title. Anyway, I just had to see it for myself, it’s great to see her stuff accessible to a worldwide audience. I think I’m one of the last people in existence still actively buying physical CDs instead of digital though :p

Well... the song is about making love... so, there's love on the song... kinda haha :P

Xianghua 16th June 2019 04:29 PM

Really surprised to get a ticketboard email about Namie today.
Here's a link to a variety of streaming services to listen to, unfortunately there is no Spotify :(
