Although I wish CMJK would take a few ballad arranging tips from Shima Ken - Shima's arrangement for "Voyage" was beautiful. I'm not saying that CMJK's "forgiveness" was bad, it's just that the sound's not as thick as that for "Voyage".

CMJK's Forgiveness????????

I dotn like remixes any how.... I only like the ayuromix and nicely nice mix

MedJohn 11th September 2004 06:48 AM

CMJK for forgiveness is perfect!!
don't blame him...
I didn't like the plethora of strings in Voyage...
it sounds too acoustic~~
while forgiveness sounded very nice w/ those dumping bass drum beats in the chorus!!
a very heart-touching arrangement~

CMJK's remixes are a bit banal, but his arrangements are very nice~~

Oh thanks, I didn't realize that. I thought CMJK had only remixed for Ayu. :)

No, About You will probably be an album track, not on any singles. That means we have to wait to hear it! :headache

Four tracks, long songs? Yes!

alternarist 11th September 2004 09:24 AM

i was hoping for a 10 tracks single.. is it possible ?

luminaire 11th September 2004 10:43 AM

I'm not blaming CMJK - at first I did prefer "forgiveness" to "Voyage" when it came out, but now I can't even recall "forgiveness" in my head, whereas I can for "Voyage". It all boils down to who arranged it better such that the song is more memorable - and Shima Ken, in my opinion, succeeded more than CMJK.

Avex has phased the 10-track single format out since 2002 when they released "Free & Easy" as they probably figured there was no longer a need for such long singles to ensure Ayu's sales. Or something like that.

Anyway, why do all of you want the 10-track single back so badly? Are the remixes even good in the first place? Not all of them were, and I'd rather pay for a 4-track single with good stuff rather than 200 yen more for 6 more tracks which I either do not listen to, simply because they are too generic and a waste of time, or because they just plain suck, being crappy remixes made up at the last minute to occupy listening time on the disc.

I want more remixes of ferry corsten, armin van buuren, above and beyond and wippenberg...

but that's just me...

Odd, I thought CMJK was a group of men, not just one. Oh well.

This track listing sounds interesting, especially the remix featuring a Hammond organ. I won't say "Oooh, I might buy this one!" like I usually do lately whenever Ayu releases something because I always end up disappointed somehow. I'll wait and see.

Thanks for the news!

MedJohn 12th September 2004 07:20 PM

well, i think the whole arrangement thing depends on the audience's likes
i remember forgiveness so much more clearly than Voyage coz my tastes r like tht
there's no right now wrong, no better nor worse...
diff ppl hv diff tastes
u can't conclude forgiveness' arrangement is worse than tht of Voyage~
>.<

also, nobody ever thot dat the 10-track thing was totally bad
i find a lot of good remixes in her 10-track singles, esp. M, NEVER EVER, UNITE!, etc.
i'd rather pay more for more remixes, coz many of them aren't as mediocre as u think
(the rule of 'diff ppl hv diff tastes' again...)

HMV shows that the Hammond B-3 Organ Mix is by Daisuke Kawai. He has an official site here, and there's a bio on him here
