I was thinking the same thing. After reading this and the news about her shopping in Hong Kong, I was really dissapointed in her wastefulness. It would be so easy for her to donate just HALF of what she spends on shoes to charity; to give back to this dying world just a little. I don't know, that's just me. I feel she could be a real idol for the millions of people she reaches if she did something like that.

Maybe you guys are right, since I also admire people who donate amounts to charity. Like when Namie donated so much money once.. I believe it was to the Tsunami tragedy. But she also contributes in charity cases such as the song+nation initiative for the September 11, 2001 attacks, where she sang "a song is born". And Leslie Kee's Superstar photobook was another charity initiative too. According to him, all proceeds will go to the the victims of the Tsunami and various charities.

Finally (I think it was last year) when Ayu auctioned a pair of jeans with her signature. According to wikipedia sold at 76 million yen. The money was sent to charity. So it's not like she's completely ignoring charity cases.

I find it funny when people slate Ayu for NOT giving money to charity.
