I don't think it's a matter of fitting the songs, but more of a matter of Ayu feeling happy doing what she loves.. :o

If that was true, then everything would be a fairytale coming true. If you combine two things that don't fit.. then you don't come out with something good, that's a fact. Of course, there's no harm in smiling, but for example, singing about your wishes not coming true or the passing of a friend.. wel.. smiling while singing that.. well.. you can fill it in

Well, she's obviously not smiled in the past when singing about stuff that she really felt strongly about [see Memorial address at AT03-04 and untitled ~for her~ at CDL07-08]... but songs like Mirrorcle World and my name's WOMEN are meant to be empowering, like "Fight it!" or "Let's do this!".. XD

Put simply, I mean to say that the songs that the person initially stated "Why is she smiling in these? It doesn't fit the song at all." for really do fit the whole smiling-thing. :o

Mirrorcle World is a very dramatic song, and the way she looks while singing it makes me think that she's doing Beautiful Day or something. my name's WOMEN should be done in a very "controlling" atmosphere, like 1 LOVE. She's gotten better at that since AT05, so I hope she will improve her my name's WOMEN performance with her new dominance. :D

Edit: ^ ...o_O.. Mirrorcle World isn't "lol we're happy and fine let's do this". Check out the PV..No smiling. XD Except the running away part.. but then again the PV doesn't really fit the song. IMO it's more like is this LOVE? and talkin' 2 myself songs than HONEY.

When polka-dot-jewel and I were talking about the setlist (about how upset we are) last nite, i thought "WHY can't I just be content with everything Ayu puts out there like I used to be??" itz sux that I can't be a wholly supportive fan anymore for some reason... I am just blown away from her having my name's WOMEN in there and not UNITE! >.< if that was diff. i would feel loads better but... i suppose i'll get over it by the time I go at the end of June (plus, i'm hoping they'll make some changes between now and then lol)

I wonder if her Depend on You performance is the new remade one from her single. The tour sounds amazing! I'm so excited to see it.

I mean look at Ladies Night and the whole dramatic atmosphere that had... and it was translated into a fun and perky little concert performance.

And as for Mirrorcle World, the lyrics say a lot about the song..
It's about looking forward and pushing on even though the "unknown" is out there.. :o

@NeoDaydream: Lol I have the same thing! But I'm only a shorttime fan so I can't say that I used to be 100% suportive. It just seems that since I became fan all stuff she released is considered as "her worst". XD GUILTY -- worst album in a lot of opinions. Mirrorcle World - recut single, nothing really new. AT08 - lots of actual copies of old stuff. It's so depressing. Like COME ON Ayu release something really amazing! XD

What's wrong with My Name's WOMEN?

TV is shown to the public, so ayu looks more serious during tv performance...while AT08 is to get closer with her fans and thus it's more like a light hearted session with fans so i guess ayu tends to smile more often?

I tried liking Ayu's music for quite some time without success, and I became a fan after listening to GUILTY where I liked pretty much every single song!
Plus I'm really digging the MW single and AT08 tour too :heart

I think it's funny how people think that bit from MW is optimistic. Ever since the first time I heard it (back in Mirror) I always thought it meant : "Have I become strong, or am I so numb in pain that I can't even cry anymore?" or something like that. But I guess that's just me...?

Anyway, there's something I want to ask: why is Fly High always performed with the "cute" outfit? The song is not "cute" at all o_o The CDL 06-07 performance of Fly High is WEIRD, man... and from that outfit it's going to be the same this year, huh? Not that I mind it XD I just don't get it, lol

she just has ALOT of better songs... and classics that i want in itz place >.<
