Seems moments was always a full song.

I don't know...in the end...people will believe what they want.

Interesting thread.

I know, it sucks, does'nt it?

LOL @ still alone.
I remember watching the cm and thinking "Ah, this ballad sounds great"
and then when I got I'm... I was like " DX ".
Hey did the original ver. of still alone ever surface?

That's like asking why any of her albums are titled the way they are... it's so hard to explain some of them if she hasn't spoken about them personally @_@

Lol, I know it was just a funny response because I wouldn't know how else to explain it either.

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 27th June 2008 01:17 AM

It seems she picks alot of random titles. Like.... these come to mind right off the bat:

NEVER EVER
And then
Dolls

Yeah the still alone CM version is great but imo the warp brothers remix makes up for it. It's so funny how you mention still alone and I look up the CM again and I change from Naturally Initiate to still alone Initiate.

They have their purposes. Kind of like how Dolls was a song she wrote while inspired by the movie "Dolls"..

Quote:

This is a large-scale, medium-tempo track that was inspired when ayu came into contact with Dolls, a film by Takeshi Kitano, just as album recording was beginning. Although the song itself existed before this meeting, ayu immediately set to reassembling it into its final form: A mature song that carries a strong impact. Her performance in the chorus, which crescendos during the latter half of the track, is very dramatic, and can be likened to a blossoming flower.
They're far from random. Usually, they express the meaning of the song in a few words. [or they're just a random English lyric she has in the song itself..]

extepan 27th June 2008 01:26 AM

moments and memories are definitely not the same song, because in early promotional materials of moments, it says "moments c/w memories"

Where did you see that?

Bad Wolf 27th June 2008 01:32 AM

^ Well that complicates things lol

Zeke. 27th June 2008 01:34 AM

It certainly does. I searched all over google and didn't find anything regarding "c/w Memories".

truehappiness 27th June 2008 01:50 AM

Maybe we should just forget this ever existed.. D:

I'm pretty sure that's what HIKARI wanted people to do when he removed the information from his site. :O

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 27th June 2008 01:52 AM

lets keep at it!

Zeke. 27th June 2008 01:54 AM

I think I did my fare share of searching. Now it's somebody else's turn.

Tasked 27th June 2008 08:57 AM

I was never ever THE source of the moments-thingy.. It was, back then, something that was generally accepted among the forums.. I remember several teamayu members talked about that in in the japanese BBS, and hence also the english forums..
Just like Endless Sorrow and M indeed.. M was first called bliss; I remember it being on yesasia as Bliss, too.. And Endless Sorrow was first called Sepia, but was changed because a release of a different song that was also called Sepia... And the dearest and I am...-covershoots were swapped because of 9/11 (or changed, there's a bit of a debate)..... I agree; it's kinda hard to prove these kind of things.. totally

I don't think that a "full" CM version ever surfaced, as just like happens to all her other songs. It was just a sample before the full thing was ready. Even being somewhat different, I still love the full "still alone" (The start does remind me a little of "The Police - Every Breath You Take" :laugh, but w/e LOL).

However all this talk about Cms reminded me of Beautiful Fighters, and how ppl were trashing BLUE BIRD because they'd rather listen to this awesome hard rock song that would come, by the preview they had listened on the CMs, rather than her new summer pop song...but in the end they were very dissapointed like "What? This is bubblegum pop? I thought it was Rock!!" :laugh

Zeke. 27th June 2008 09:32 PM

^ Totally. I loved Beautiful Fighters when it came out but now I really do want the version that was in the CM. Just grand.

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 27th June 2008 09:49 PM

^ Yeah, but I like the pop version more... XD

Still alone... i like it like it is, but that epic version of the cm was great.

I did'nt know the Dearest cover was changed though...

I did know that about the covershoots, but i thought they were just changed, not swapped...i dunno, i can't see the dearest shot being with I am... haha...

if you listen to the visee commercial version of Moments and the My Story album version, Ayu's actual voice sounds quite different. It sounds more "cutesy" and higher-pitched in the commercial version and more serious in the My Story version. I know voice pitches can be changed easily electronically, but the actual way she sings sounds very different, like she rerecorded the vocals. I don't know. I'm more in support that the song was written a long time ago, such as the Trilogy era, and wasn't released until the commercial and single.

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 27th June 2008 11:59 PM

^ Just heard it.

It does rather sound like her "old" voice, high and nasal.

Zachery! 28th June 2008 01:29 AM

"Memories" is not a song. The title was a typo made on the part of HIKARI's most likely non-english-speaking webmaster. The titles "Memories" and "Moments" are visually very similar and it would be an easy mistake to make for someone not schooled in English. At the time, both song titles WERE NOT shown on HIKARI's site, according to both Deli and Prime's memory. The site ONLY showed the title "Memories".

emiko said, essentially, the same thing a while back also.
