So D/G will be on the 2009 single ranking, right? I remember YUI fans rejoicing that YUI's single "again" surpassed Ayu's R/S as in terms of sales in 2009 and is now the best-selling single by a female artist this year. :P I suppose they weren't counting oricon year. I feel oddly happy about that.

I'm still hoping that S/S won't go by the halving formula for her other single sales though. Since there wasn't first press for this single, perhaps the 2nd day sales will be higher. THEN going by that and making a prediction:

36k --> 26k --> 15k --> 9k --> 9k --> 7k = 102k

I tried to be very optimistic with the dropping numbers. 2nd day numbers were inflated just because I hope they will be high. :P YUI's 1st two days were really really good. If only Ayu went from 36k to 34k.

On a side note if we did the usual halving though:

36k --> 18k --> 9k --> 9k --> 9k --> 7k = 88k

Yes Rule/Sparkle was better imo as well, but that doesn't mean it sold because it was better, talkin' 2 myself was the best single she released since HEAVEN (imo of course), but it's among her lowest selling singles. The quality of the music doesn't necessarily mean good/huge sales.

Yeah YUI had FMA2 tie-in and I am hoping Sunrise/Sunset will have more stellar sales, but it would be good if it could sell as much as "again" in it's first week.

that time when YUI's again was released , all her fans rejoiced in that she had the highest 1st week sales attained by a female solo artiste & NOT the total sales that again has accumulated so far

anyway I hope Sunrise/Sunset will do well . I can't comment about Morning Museume at all since I don't listen to them

Shuchishin has been disbanded since this Jan with 1 of them called Yusuke flying solo

you can see his 1st 2 solo singles in the top 50 chart & I like both singles of him despite the fact that I don't plan to listen to Shushichin at all

And both on the 2009 oricon year. Unless if they wanted to make it 2009 in normal year.

Koda with 3 SPLASH has sold 87K in 3 weeks with a 3 a-side single and 3 PV and multiple verions with gift, etc... so looking at that it seems great if ayu can do that in only 1 week with S/S.... no? ^^

They count it as a normal year. Same goes with GReeeeN, they have the highest opening of the year even though Mr. Children's album, which was released on the 2009 Oricon year, opened with 707,000.
