Hey! Say! JUMP’s Ryosuke Yamada to play the perfect son in upcoming drama

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Ryosuke Yamada will team up with actress Kyoka Suzuki in an upcoming winter drama “理想の息子 (Riso no Musuko, the Ideal Son)” it was announced on November 24, reports Oricon.

This comedy drama follows a single mother who’s down on her luck with men. She’s never found the right guy, and even though she marries the father of her son, he soon divorces her. Her plan now is to raise her son so that he will love her enough to buy her a house and look after her when she’s old. Fast forward a few years, and now Daichi is at high school student who’s proud to say, “my favourite type of woman is someone like my mum”.

But in real life, Yamada says he is a mama’s boy like his TV character, but is excited about working on the drama.

“I know she’s (Suzuki-san) playing my mother, but even so I think I’ll get nervous because she’s very beautiful.

“This is my first comedy so as I’m reading the script, I’m also studying about it.”

Other’s Johnny’s talents to co-star with Yamada in the drama include Kis-My-Ft2′s Taisuke Fujigaya, who will play Yamada’s senior at school, and Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yuto Nakajima.

The drama will go on air in Japan from January 2012.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke (18) will challenge a historical drama for the first time. In TBS New Year’s drama “Shinshun Rekishi Special Shirarezaru no Bakumatsu no Shishi Yamada Akiyoshi Monogatari” (Next Year January 2nd 3.30pm) he plays a soldier of Meiji Government, who lead Battle of Goryogaku among others, in his young days. For the first time he wore the topknot wig and transformed into a brave soldier.

The shooting was done in mid-October. It was his first historical drama, so he confessed: “When I heard about this the first time, I was a bit worried like ‘Can I really do it?’”. But as he visited the holy
place for the historical drama, Uzumasa in Kyoto, he said: “When I wore the wig and the outfit, I felt like something passed through me.”

Before the shooting he studied properly about the characters and historical gestures. The producer told: “The movements in fighting scenes and how fast he learned everything surprised the instructors.”

Kiriyama Akito from Kansai Johnny’s Jr will also be in the drama.

Hey! Say! JUMP to hold their 1st Asia tour

On January 2nd, it was announced that idol group, Hey! Say! JUMP will be holding their first Asia tour in March to June. The members were informed about the tour on the same day by Johnny Kitagawa, the president of Johnny & Associates, right before they began their live concert at the Yokohama Arena.

Member, Yabu Kota commented, “I’m happy that we will finally be able to see fans overseas“, while Chinen Yuri said, “We will show off our performances!” Yamada Ryosuke also added, “To hold a tour overseas was our major goal, so I’m happy! This will be a new start as JUMP.”

According to Johnny & Associates, Inc., there will be 3 stages in Hong Kong on March 24th and 25th, 4 stages in Taipei, Taiwan on April 28th and 29th, 2 stages in Bangkok, Thailand on May 26th and 27th, and 4 stages in Seoul, Korea on June 23rd and 24th. This will be their first oversea concerts ever since they made their CD debut back in November 2007. The Asia tour will also include the live concerts in Japan which will be held at Yokohama Arena for a week continuously (total 14 stages) on May 1st ~ 7th.

During the concert, Hey! Say! JUMP performed total 26 songs including their new song “SUPER DELICATE” which is scheduled to be released in February.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yabu Kota to enter Waseda University

Hey! Say! JUMP member, Yabu Kota (21) has announced that he passed the entrance exam for the Department of Human Informatics and Cognitive Sciences (an e-learning course in the School of Human Sciences) at Waseda University.

Though Yabu gave up seeking after a higher education because of how Hey! Say! JUMP’s debut’s came about after he graduated high school in 2008, he revealed, “From the beginning, I’ve never hated studying, and I always had a feeling of wanting to go to college these past 4 years. I will try my best to cope with both work and study.”

He will enter Waseda University in this April.

His seniors, NEWS‘ Tegoshi Yuya (24) (currently temporary absence from school) and KAT-TUN’s Nakamaru Yuichi (28) also belong in the same department at Waseda University.

Three Hey! Say! JUMP members graduate from high school

On February 17th, Hey! Say! JUMP members Yamada Ryosuke, Chinen Yuri, and Nakajima Yuto officially graduated from high school through a ceremony at Horikoshi High School.

The boys held a press conference after the ceremony, and reporters noticed that Yamada had tears in his eyes. Shaking his head, Yamada protested, “No no, it’s eye drops.” He also recalled a ‘cold’ memory from high school, “My teachers scolded me a lot. I had to sit in the hallway a few times. Sitting there in the winter was tough.”

Meanwhile, Chinen shared a cheerful memory from high school, saying, “I was happy I placed 4th on the tests in our grade level.” When asked, “When did you study?“, he quickly responded, “I just listened to the lectures.”

Nakajima also shared, “I always looked forward to eating onsen tamago (slow-boiled egg) curry with Chinen during lunch. Because of it, I became this big.”

Now that they’ve graduated high school, the three members plan to devote themselves entirely to their entertainment activities. “We’ll get employed by Johnny’s Entertainment,” they said in unison. Yamada added, “I want to take advantage of the time I’m not in school to build up my own abilities and mature as a member of JUMP.”

Hey! Say! JUMP will embark on their first Asia tour starting March 24th. They are scheduled to hold concerts in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangkok, and Seoul. Yamada said, “To make up for the language barrier, we want to show it in our performance.” Chinen also promised, “Let’s do some acrobatic stunts.”

Keito Okamoto accepted in Sophia University

Another Hey! Say! JUMP member will start university this April – Keito Okamoto has been accepted into one of Japan’s best international universities, it was announced on February 18, reports Nikkan Sports.

Okamoto will study at the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Sophia University, located in central Tokyo, after he passed the university’s general entrance exams, including a good enough TOEFL mark and English essay.

It has been reported the exam results were announced around the end of January. Okamoto, his father and Johnny’s senior talent Kenichi Okamoto, and their pet dog crowded around the computer at their house to read the news on the university’s exam results web page. The Hey! Say! JUMP star has been living together with his dad, who has supported Keito over the years, driving him to and from work if their schedules allowed it.

The faculty Okamoto will join from April teaches all of their lectures in English, and it was his first choice for university.

“They use English as the first language in classes, not many places in Japan offer this.

“I want to learn more English, and I’m interested in international marketing as well,” he said.

It has been reported Okamoto spent his free time during concert tours in his changing room reading textbooks.

A number of celebrities have graduated from Sophia University’s Liberal Arts faculty, including BENI and Crystal Kay. Thelma Aoyama is currently studying there as well.

I honestly want a new HSJ album as I really don't care that much for NYC's stuff (which I find their material too cheesy / kiddy for my liking)

JUMP NO.1 was released 2 years ago :x . I really want a 2nd HSJ album but I think they need to put out 1 more single before that happens T_T

Magic Power is my least fave track to be included in their 2nd album but the other 3 singles are excellent
