Oh~ I was watching a Taiwanese talk show and it had celebrities talking about how balancing work and family. They say they missed out on a large chunk of their kids' life to the point that the parents felt like strangers to the kids, so it's really great that Namie turns down so many promotion. She doesn't necessarily put her career first, but her son is very important to her!

Japan is small. :) I'm sure for most tour stops she just heads back to Tokyo as soon as the show is over. Also touring would leave her several days off per week which I'm sure is probably a better schedule for her son than doing constant promotion for new singles/albums.
