Fav tracks off this album are PROUD, thinking bout you and MONEY. There is really an awful lot of autotune used in this album though, kinda unbearable if you listen through the whole album haha

Impossible , Singer Songwriter no Uta , ENCORE (the song) are great while DREAM is my favourite single in the album Carole King's You've Got A Friend is the only English cover in ENCORE . It was probably a leftover cover that didn't made the cut in Shota's MELODY covers album Also You've Got A Friend was oddly excluded from my Taiwan press copy but Sony BMG Taiwan left the other 10 songs intact . It was probably because of copyright issues :x |

Shimizu Shota, who made his debut with the single "HOME" on February 20, 2008, will be kicking off his 10th anniversary year with a single titled "FIRE". As the title suggests, the theme of this single is fire. The title track compares one's feelings with fire using lyrics, such as "burn anything and everything" and "I want to see you even if I lose everything." I honestly wonder why in the world he likes autotune so much. Especially since his genre of music doesn't call for it. He has a nice voice and I wish he would go back to just showcasing that. All his good songs have little to none of it. :no |
I don't mind autotune but for Shota to keep on using it constantly the last 2 years since I miss you -refrain- , it's an overkill :x
Some of his best songs be it solo or collaboration songs , have little if not no autotune to begin with Shota really should restrain in using autotune so much & focus more on singing and not on rapping |

From what I heard so far , FLY is OK . Autotune usage has been cut quite significantly from PROUD but it's still not as good as Shota's past albums (like COLOURS & ENCORE)
It's a real shame that speechless is way too short cos that's 1 rare standout track in FLY & let alone it's a ballad |
Gave the album a quick run through! The songs with little to no autotune were nice.
But the fact that I would've legitimately liked some of the other songs on the album so much more if only he had not used autotune on them really irritates me. Like, does Shota strive to be a vocaloid? Why does he keep insisting on ruining what would otherwise be nice songs?? I don't understand :confused :confused :confused I want to get back into him but he makes it so irritating to do so lol :grumpy |
Shota's last single that he didn't had autotune in it was 2014's SNOW SMILE
I don't understand why in recent times Shota starts going overboard with autotune , it's real annoying especially since his voice's nice to begin with I mean , Shota didn't use any if not little of it in his older works and also when he duet with Kato Miliyah & DOUBLE so I don't get it :no Also , Shota's recent image/promo shots really don't suit him , the whole hip hop + wearing sunglasses look turns me off :x |
