Cmon, avex, Kuu is pregnant, but she can sit and sing a song from JAPONESQUE, like All for you :( We need lives for it! Not to mentior airing the PVs.

No Man's Land is definitely gonna be my fav new song im sure ahhahaha

I have a feeling the CD is lurking already hahahah

Lady~Deviance 13th January 2012 06:42 PM

Avex really needs to step their game up. This upcoming album has the potential to outsell [Dejavu]. I just wish Avex would do more on their part. :no

Luja. 13th January 2012 09:14 PM

The songs sounds so rockish:heart thanks for posting the preview, can't wait for the rest of this album:yes!

Not~Yet 13th January 2012 09:27 PM

God I'm sooo thrilled!:woohoo: Pretty much all of the previews sound amazing with wide variety of genres and effects. This album has serious potential to be a killer aka Black Cherry or even more. Though the PV doesn't seem impressing No man's land sounds ****ing awesome too asfdfhj

Anticipating So Nice, Boom Boom Boys & Love Technique the most and Lay Down and ESCALATE must be good since the previews are so vague haha.

jyujiw 13th January 2012 09:29 PM

Exactly. idk to me it seems like over the years they've been back and forth with Kuu. She has the talent, she has a solid fanbase, and hell, she has the passion and energy that are needed to maintain one's career and yet they always half-arse their promotion, support, releases, etc. for her. It makes no sense to me. It's not even like she has to compete THAT hard, IMO.

I dunno... it just seems really unfair to me, especially with how hard she's worked and how badly she's always wanted to be a singer. She's always had this desire and worked so hard for that goal. I've always been really moved at how "walk" is something she wrote ages ago and she STILL sings at every live. It's her anthem, it expresses how determined she is. And yes I'm definitely being too sensitive here but it just upsets me :/

Lady~Deviance 13th January 2012 09:43 PM

Could someone clarify something for me? Did Kuu's management cancel all of her upcoming mini lives and performances? I already know her tour was shelved but I'm just curious.

I guess her health is Avex's main concern and it should be. I'm just floored and astonished that Angela Aki performed at Kohaku and held her annual concert at Boudakan while being 9 months pregnant a couple of weeks ago. :thud I guess Kuu would rather put music on the back burner. :P

KuuXAyu-fan 13th January 2012 09:54 PM

Performances may be explained by her health. But what about commercials, previews, digital singles? Namie didn't perform anywhere for her past two singles but they were still promoted very heavily through other outlets.

kaled kalil 13th January 2012 10:04 PM

@Lady~Deviance: Only one performance was announced this year, the Ontama Carnival Live 2012. Last year she was going to perform at a Xmas Special but she wasn't felling well, then was cancel her performance.
So, the only live (right now) is the Ontama one, and she probably won't do since it's a special show when she usually sing 4, 5 or 6 songs.

The album will be release in almost two weeks and even a CM we don't have, this is really bad. I saw in her official twitter that the songs will be added on Chaku uta soon, but I think some people don't even know about the new album, specially the new release date.

Lady~Deviance 13th January 2012 10:06 PM

^ Thanks for the info Kaled. At least the "Ontama Carnival Live'' sounds like some useful promo.

PV's on tv the 1st, 7th and 11th of february? when the release date is 1/25????
what's up with u avex? :S what kind of promotion-joke is this?
at least they could postpone the release to late february if that helps to make a better promotion, but this is making me angry, seriously

Minttulatte 13th January 2012 11:43 PM

It's really odd that there's no promotion. She could sing ballads for promotion in a gorgeus dress and all that but no. I hope nothing's wrong with her pregnancy though~ .__.

kaled kalil 14th January 2012 12:05 AM

^
^ They always do this Special PV things, and usually don't have any new PV (like the 50th Singles Special). It's not a big deal, and also not a big promo. lol

I'm not expecting anything anymore. The promo, this time, is a complete mess.

I was thinking this one too. Maybe she will get some heavy billboards and trucks driving around soon?

avex didn't made the efort of making a CM comercial.... I don't think they are thinking on spending so much money on a truck.. xD
btw, there's something surrounding my head... a big part of the sales for Japonesque are going to avex, so I don't know exactly why they don't promote it :S it's so weird all that s-it

This is a set of a magazine shoot:

EDIT

I've been thinking, all the promo that she's gonna do is what they planned for the original date release 02/01. I mean, the Special PV thing, Ontama, magazine probably will be march issue... Maybe that's why everthing is kinda slow now. It won't be good for the first week sales, but at least it could have some real promo.

And btw, I don't like the previews are only for FC, they are not the only ones that will buy the album. lol

gosh. you are right. but then it doesn't make sense, the avex policy. they decided to shift the date and they MUST shift the promo. or is it the new type of promo? like not promoting for the first week, but actually after first week? something Rihanna might do.

Listened to the previews now!

I LOVE Boom Boom Boys, No Man's Land, Love Technique and All for you previews! :heart
Gonna love these songs in full, I know it.
Love Technique sounds so fresh!
(though the repeating is a bit dull, lol)
Don't know abou the rest yet.
ESCALATE and Lay Down are in the same style. I prefer ESCALATE, but can't say much so far.
Brave and Everyday are also in the same style, her typical medium song style. I prefer Everyday here, Brave sounds sadly really boring.
For Slow they took a bad part for the preview, sounds like the ending of a chorus. I imagine the full song to be great, Omarion has a nice voice!
So Nice preview is just alright, but the song picks up at the end.

For every genre on the album there are at least two songs. Seems to me like they want a decent flow for the album.

No Man's Land PV preview looks promising! Dramatic atmosphere... wanna see it now!
Just hope there is some kind of storyline, not only those scenes, as great as those look.

And I think you're right, kaled, promotion is probably schedlued for the original release date.

elaniel 15th January 2012 05:03 PM

I dunno... it just seems really unfair to me, especially with how hard she's worked and how badly she's always wanted to be a singer. She's always had this desire and worked so hard for that goal. I've always been really moved at how "walk" is something she wrote ages ago and she STILL sings at every live. It's her anthem, it expresses how determined she is. I don't think you're being too sensitive, you're worried for a good reason. Kuu works damn hard, and although I am not sure how much Kuu plans her promotion or if Avex does, Avex needs to work a little harder to being Kuu back up. It wouldn't take much work because Kuu is an amazing singer and performer. Everybody is worried about the lack of promotion thus far and is right to be, JAPONESQUE can has the potential to be a highlight of Kuu's career like Black Cherry, and Avex needs to take advantage of this. They're starting to get PV previews out now which is good...But it's less than 2 weeks til it comes out, they need to get the CMs, posters + billboards on buildings and PV's out on the TV now! People who aren't fans of Kuu probably don't know much about this album yet, and they should, because a lot of people are impressed with it already, the more people know about it, the more it will sell! I swear, if Avex makes JAPONESQUE a flop I shall flip a table and hit the roof. >[
However it's good to see a little bit of promotion in the works now, and Kaled might be right, they have probably scheduled the promotion for the 2nd of Feb, as that is the original release date. I hope this is true, so we can see more promotion as the days go on. They are fully aware this is Kuu's 10th album, and something big to promote, so they would be shooting themselves in the foot not to. Of course it may not just be Avex's fault, I imagine Kuu's pregnancy has cancelled a lot of things already that were going ahead, so who knows. Let's just hope we'll see more promotion and hopefully scheduled lives and magazine shoots as the days go on.

I don't think they could do that. If they have already booked the photoshoot, like for this magazine shoot for example, than unless the magazine company is okay to shift it, than they can't. :/ And by then they probably already have people and photographer booked for the February issue, since they usually book these way in advance. As for the other promotion under Avex, such as CMs and posters and such...I don't really see why they can't get them out sooner, even just the CM to raise awareness a bit until more promotion is out. Unless there is a problem with the TV companies, in terms of what slots and dates they have the CM booked for, and what channels etc?

Also, No Man's Land PV preview.....OMG. :love One of Kuu most epic yet, so far! I can't wait to see the rest! <3

tbh this album reminds me of dejavu part 2...not that it's a bad thing. These songs seem more polished than their dejavu counterparts lol

krauterol 16th January 2012 10:39 AM

I honestly can't find a big similarity between Japonesque and Dejavu... IMO it's like talking about water and oil.
Songs like So nice, No man's land, or Lay Down have a more "Second Session-Kingdom-Universe" feeling than Trick or Dejavu for sure.
The only song reminds me of Dejavu is Slow, (rmnds: passing by) but judging the preview is going to be a pretty much worked track than passing by.

Gustavopc 16th January 2012 01:41 PM

^ Totally agree. While TRICK and Dejavu had many similar tracks, Kingdom and second session had many unique tracks, and that's why I love them so much :heart Not that I don't like TRICK or Dejavu, but when it comes to Kuu, I prefer albums with many different styles.

Me, too. The dance songs have really similar arrangements to the dance songs on Dejavu, so the album basically sounds like Dejavu with a few Can We Go Back?-ish sock songs.

On that note, No Mans Land totally reminds me of Can We Go Back?, except 1000 times better because it doesn't sound like a cheesy, generic American pop rock song from 2005.

I love the previews of the new songs from Japonesque

I will get the CD+2DVD version along with the Dejavu Bluray

Gustavopc 16th January 2012 04:46 PM

I was listening to some demo songs by Ryan Tedder, OneRepublic vocalist, and came across this one

Do you guys think it's a demo for All for you by Kumi? Kuu song is a bit slower, but I don't know...

kaled kalil 16th January 2012 07:53 PM

^ I don't think so, the song sounds different, and Kumi's ballds are usually from japanese composers.

Rumor that Kumi was smoking a cigarette in some place. Oh Lord.......

yes, this can appeal to photoshoots and buying the airing time of CMs etc, but putting posters all around Shibuya 109 for gals could just do a thing! at least...

KODA NEVER SMOKE YOU ****ING MEDIA BASTARDS. she's for the health. she doesn't even drink much!

Bad Wolf 16th January 2012 08:15 PM

^ pics or it didn't happen DDD:

Minttulatte 16th January 2012 08:47 PM

Lol, Kuu doesn't smoke. Media just tries to make her seem like she did. I bet it was just someone who looks like Kuu in a way so they thought it was her lol. :D

Meaning I don't believe a thing unless I see a pic of her actually doing so.

happiholic★ 16th January 2012 09:15 PM

Ayu got married quickly, and a year later got divorced. Kuu is kinda in the same boat. I'd be even more sad if Kuu gets divorced because she is having a kid with Kenji. Mind you, Kuu and Kenji are both Japanese, work under the same label and live together, but still...

kaled kalil 16th January 2012 09:35 PM

Kumi is promoting Boom Boom Boys... Throwing up in a concert (Xmas Live)... Smoking... lol just joking. :D

Ayu_Love 16th January 2012 11:03 PM

Kuu has never smoked, I don't think she would start while she was PREGNANT. xD She has already taken lots of measures to ensure her baby is healthy, I think it's kinda an insult for the media to even post this. They're obviously just trying to get at her, using the pregnancy for bad press. PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. XD

It's good too see some promo out for JAPONESQUE, but no CM yet? D:

And I agree with Setsuka, I'm not going to do any comparisons between Ayu's and Kuu's marriages, because they are both completely different situations. Ayu and Mannie are practically a world apart, it would have worked if Ayu had moved to the USA with him, but she chose to stay with her country after the earthquake, and as they begun to see each other less, she realised that her desire to be with her country outgrew her desire to move to the USA, they just grew apart. Ayu's marriage was just what sadly happens to a lot of long distance relationships if both parties wish to stay where they are. XD Kuu and Kenji are different, they not only live in the same country, but they live TOGETHER, and they are having a child together. They are the complete opposite to the situation Ayu had, hahaha. They don't have to move across the world to see each other, all they have to do is move from the couch to the kitchen, LOL. And they are both obviously ready and excited to make a family. :) That's my opinion, hahaha. They both seem very happy so I am not worried.

I gotta say, I think there are elements of Black Cherry, TRICK, Best Second Session and Dejavu in JAPONESQUE. The whole album is kinda a mixture of all the genre's and styles she has done over the years, that's why I like it so much, It's a great album for her 10th! :love

kaled kalil 16th January 2012 11:42 PM

Yeah, and it's not a huge website, so pretty sure is just a lie. XD

Twinkle ! 16th January 2012 11:59 PM

LOL media never knows when they write a lie in a good time XD , such an epic fail !

happiholic★ 17th January 2012 12:17 AM

I guess I'm just worried, because even though I didn't really have faith in Ayu and Mannie (bad, bad fan) I was still kinda blind-sided by their divorce. I don't mean to compare or be negative, I just realized that these things can really happen :(

krauterol 17th January 2012 01:08 AM

^
well, of course these things can really happen, but I don't think it's something people should worry about... people have to try things (like marriage) instead of living with worries and fears. Then if something goes wrong.. well, at least u can say you try it!

You are right. I was just sad to hear about Ayu, and now I worry about Kuu. As fan we want them to be happy, you know?

setsuka 17th January 2012 02:12 AM

Cyzo is a pretty big website though

but it is a tabloid and is usually fake as hell,so happy Boom Boom Boys is being released early, it was the one I wanted to hear the most

Zeke. 17th January 2012 03:09 AM

I thought Boom Boom Boys sounded chaotic and not one of the ones I have any faith in. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised but right now I'm not excited for that one.

emi♡ 17th January 2012 03:14 AM

^it kinda reminds me of pop diva cause she has a lot of vocal track layers during the chorus, including that really high one that made pop diva annoying lol Im thinking it might be better live~~

about kodas situation...idk its obviously going to be easier for them...maybe the baby will super cement their relationship? lol relationships are so unpredictable. It certainly doesnt feel crazy like ayus did though.

Kingdom 17th January 2012 04:27 AM

I hope my upcoming marriage will last longer than Ayu's.

I'm not really feeling BBBoys's preview.. I would much rather have Love Technique or So Nice or ESCALATE or Lay Down. they all seem to be my favorite so far.

but maybe BBBoys will grow on me in full.

Lee^ChaN 17th January 2012 06:50 AM

Quick & crappy translation (sowwiiee.. i have exams :laugh)

Introduction: It has a theme how other countries see Japan. The song will be the introduction for the album, and it has the image of a "oiran" (courtesan) walking, while saying "please follow me"

So nice: The oiran who walk across and waiting for a guy who can light the flames (probably it has a sexual implicit since it's Kuu-chan :lech). The major color in the MV is red and gold (the dress) and it's so Koda Kumi-ish. Since she once lived in Kyoto, she wants to try the oiran style.

BBB: Close to FREAKY, Rock and Dance tune. The theme is a free wild woman who drinking alcohol everyday, dating with different guy everyday. The story of the MV is a woman who drinking alcohol in the club and dancing to release the stress.

Slow: There are a lot of guys who think that "you can't give happines to a woman if you don't have money". on the other part, woman thinks "there is other thing that is more imporant than money. I only waiting for you, your kindness and smile; because it's your charm". Kuu and Omarion will be move in real time-motion, meanwhile the other cast will be in slow-motion.

Brave: Actually this song was finished 3 years ago. The story is about a guy who got seperated with the girl; even tho I were re-born, i wanted you to love me again; and i wish that you would think the same way too. The MV, in the room there is a uncoordinated clock, hanging on a tree. After the break-up, the time doesn't move; the girl wants that time to come back.

Everyday: no matter whether you're sad or happy, as long as you're together, you'll be happy. MV will use a lot of CG. Rainy girl and Sunny girl. Typical cutesy song

ESCALATE: When the feeling of love is increasing, the mood is escalating. The strong woman type of song. The MV shows that love is like a chess game. There won't be too much dancing scene, but the choreo is cool; and she can't wait to perform it live. In further detail, she wear a different contact lense color on her right-left eye.

No Man's land: the demo and the re-arrange were very different. Man and woman sang it together, but then it was changed to rock sound, and the rap part is written by Mr. blistah. The title has "soil land" meaning, "i want to go to a world where none of guy exists. I want to be free from a guy who betrays me. But the things keep repeating again and again. The shot used monochrome for the first time.

Lay Down: Can you handle me just like a doll. Another type of strong woman song. Since this MV used backlight, they have to do the re-take couple of times, cause the make-up didn't turn out to be good.

Love technique: Cute song and Kuu will be a love teacher blablabla

All for you: This song is dedicated to her kid-fans (if i'm not mistaken x___x)

setsuka 17th January 2012 08:26 AM

they also put the preview on her site
http://rhythmzone.net/koda/sp/japonesque/music.html
like the boxes with the screen caps must mean she will be putting all them as the days go on but who knows, would have been better if they uploaded it on avex's youtube

any way looks awesome

^
sucks it says not much dancing,I thought it looked hot, was hoping we get good dance routine in at least on pv, V.I.P dancing was weak, same with LMB and No Mans Land has a rap o_O by her, lol sounds very Back-On must the husband influences

waterballoon 17th January 2012 08:57 AM
