So according to the last.fm shoutbox for Big Boys Cry; it seems that some people find it awful and whatnot. How come? I think that the song is really hot.

I love the beat, and I think it's catchy. The effects that are thrown in are a little wonky at times but other than that it's still really enjoyable.

I only like the flute. It reminds me of a Beyonce song. And I don't care for Beyonce's music.

I think Big Boys Cry is very enjoyable and fun to listen to. There's something about the "messy" chorus that I absolutely adore. I think it's an amazing song. Not her best, but still pretty great.

I wish she could have had put Beautiful in FEEL tracklist instead. BBC didnt show anything of Namie, vocal & style. It feels like some random girl singing it.

I don't get the hate for BBC, it's a great little tune and she manages to make it sound fierce and cute at the same time. There's just this hint of flirtation in it that i love, it doesn't fit FEEL at all but it's one of my favorites from the album.

I really like Big Boys Cry, imo it's way better then other FEEL songs like Rainbow (yeah, I know many people love it, but for me it's the worst song in the album) or Can You Feel This Love...

BBC is a very simple song, but somehow I really enjoy listening to it. The chorus isn't outstanding at all, but the verses are fun to listen to :D

I like those songs way more than anything else on FEEL, for me they sound meaningful, beautiful and pleasant to hear, while the other songs in FEEL don't stand out at all for me (with the exception of Supernatural Love), they are just regular and ok pop songs... My opinion, of course. Stardust In My Eyes is probably the song from FEEL that I tend to forget the existence the most lol


Add BBC and you have the 3 songs from this album that I listen to regularly... It's not that I don't like the others, it's just that they didn't manage to get my attention that much.

Hands on Me is my absolute favourite on FEEL, but Stardust In My Eyes is just behind, that song has such a unique feeling and sound!
Get Myself Back is nice, but nothing more for me. It's a good ballad, but it lacks the emotion Namie can pull out of ballads such as Tempest or Wishing on The Same Star. Honestly, when it was released in the single, I almost completely ignored it because, well, Break It!!

I'll admit that the post chorus of GMB is good, but I've never liked R&B. I've been trying to like it, but it's never gonna happen. So I think the song is overall garbage. Even the dog song is better. Only you is probably the best song on the album imo. Take the lime and light the fire.

and um GMB is one of my faves from Uncontrolled togeter with Tempest, ONLY YOU and a couple of more. And um Tempest wil always remain a masterpiece for me, everything is just too perfect in that song production.

Get Myself Back is more like a pop influenced R&B song. It's not pure R&B like Baby Don't Cry or LOVE GAME or ALL FOR YOU for example, but I love it anyway. Although I've always been a sucker for R&B so of course Get Myself Back stole my heart at once. XD

(I'm putting these two together because I'm not really sure what's the exact difference between them.) I feel kind of dumb asking this question, and I've googled it (the difference) but there's no satisfying answer.

I totally forgot I was in the Namie thread, and I was going to answer the R&B vs Hip hop post using koda's music.

@Chiharo: Hip hop songs are usually upbeat, and very beat centered. You have a lot of hard hits with smooth transitions. Traditionally, R&B music is most associated with ballads, and to me, it's much more arrangement centered with beats that are a lot simpler, and less of a variety that you see in hip hop that mixes up a lot. You also have a higher emphasis on a smooth melody.

Examples in Namie's music...hip hop is gonna be like Want me Want me. And yeah, Baby Don't Cry is so R&B, but it's not THAT pure. You have that arrangement, and the super smooth melody though. I think it's reaaaalllyyy hard to have pure songs of the R&B type without sounding cheesy.

Get Myself Back also has a lot of R&B elements, but I think the pop elements outshine them. And I just noticed that drdolce said the same thing~ we think alike ;P

Sexy Girl is also one of those.


I'm not remembering Namie's discog right now, but if you want some seriously pure R&B songs examples, you can listen to Koda's feel or 24. Those could have been ripped straight off a 90s album.

Namie's official YT just uploaded what looks like a more professionally recorded/studio version video of her Vogue hologram segment. I hope it hints on a single release soon, cause i need the full song in my life. I've played the preview to absolute death.

Namie looked dead and bored in that CM yet irresistibly sexy and shat on many weaves. Didn't even bother to take them...
One thing I lurve about namie is that she gives no shits half the time yet does it better than most flops in Japan and possibly the west.

NEWS: According to Chaku-Uta, Namie's unreleased songs 「Neonlight Lipstick」and 「Ballerina」 will be available for download as Chaku-Uta Rekochoku ringtone exclusives.

Namie goes on her tour break starting tomorrow October 2nd. During her breaks she usually crams in a lot of work in preparation for future releases. [Gotta keep the money rolling in!] That includes photo shoots for upcoming magazines, music releases, endorsements, etc. She sometimes shoots PV's during her breaks as well.

^OMG YES YES YES, FINALLY! :luv2 This could end up being her strongest and most exciting single since Wild/Dr if Neonlight Lipstick serves the hotness.
I'm already sold on Ballerina obviously, no question.

Personally I just use the Zedge app on my phone for those. I have plenty of jpop, VG n other random stuff in ringtunes, notification sounds n even few wallpapers from it. :D
