It seems the members respect her decision, but Jessica started her brand earlier, before the last album with the 9 girls.
The other members think SNSD isn't her priority and they kick her out.

That's what I'm understanding.

visionfactory 1st October 2014 05:16 AM

If Jessica really wanted to be Jessica of SNSD she still had the opportunity and refused

dot

kimmeh 1st October 2014 06:30 AM

This is just getting uglier and uglier. I'm shocked that the other girls would push her out (if it's true) - I mean I never believed in thee "BFF BLISS", they're 9 GIRLS. They probably fight and argue all the time, and some probably don't get along at all, but I didn't ever imagine they would push one out. This is so rotten, and I'm worried we will never get a true answer to what is actually going on..

kimmeh 1st October 2014 07:12 AM

Apperently some "inside info" on the situation. Id take it with a grain of salt, but interesting to read:

ayu_ready? 1st October 2014 09:41 AM

^ this Dispatch article seems like a buy-off SM biased
this is ugly, I belive Jessica, SM fucked big time this year, with pretty much every artist they have, so my faith in SM has pretty much vanished

Tom Punks 1st October 2014 10:16 AM

^ Seriously. Dispatch is the one who leaked the Baekyeon or w/e their couple name is info lol. I would take anything from them with a grain of salt, since they're very obviously "in" with SM.

To be fair, there's no way of knowing whether Jessica's lying or not, but I believe her 100%. Just because SM is a HORRIBLE, horrendous company. I seriously feel like they're just going to somehow implode within the next few years. Especially considering the shit that happened with Kris/EXO this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked Jess out just to set an example for their other idols. "Like, hey, you want solo esteem? Don't expect to keep your job." They can't just let her get away with trying to have a solo project! Especially not with Kris bailing how he did like four months earlier.

God, I HATE SM.

emi♡ 1st October 2014 11:46 AM

It's just ridiculous how these companies operate on these draconian business models.

The idol culture is out of control. The labels are out of control.

It's fucking disgusting.

Then why renew for 3 years and why not 1 year? That's just stupid
But if we listen to Jessica, she never intended to leave the group anyways, so I don't know who to believe anymore... I'll stick with Sica though, I don't see why she would be lying.

maybe they didn't give her that option? Maybe it was 3 or nothing, and if she though she would stay in the group for, let's say, 1 more year, then it made sense to sign it. And, of course, they're saying she had changed her mind about leaving the group completely, so it makes sense she would sign it.

am I the only one that doesn't get this concept that, if someone is leaving his/her job, he/her has to commit to it 110% before effectively leaving?
I feel it would have been way better if they had just let her stop participating in the group schedules little by little, this way everyone would start to accept that she is leaving little by little until she finally did so. But instead they expected her to work completely committed pretending like everything was normal. What would they do when her time to leave finally arrived (had she not been kicked out)? "So, she left the group. She has been leaving for over an year, but we just didn't mention until know. Surprise!"... sounds like a stupid idea to me, and clearly it has backfired in the middle of the process, because, let's face it, she signed a contract with the investors, so demanding her to halt her business activities when she's actually bounded to it by a contract is a bit irrational...

Why? Jessican trained for 7 years before getting into SNSD, do yo know that's a lot of money for SM? (Food, classes, a place to live for 7 years) Then she has been a SNSD member for just 7 years. You expect for an investment to at least she will be performing MORE than 7 years that's the cost of producing her, she didn't even care.

terra 1st October 2014 07:19 PM

I said premature because, as all said before, it doesn't make sense to just kick her out of the group while a clear agreement has not been settled yet. And it's unfair to just suddenly taking a one sided decision while leaving the other in the dark.

I believe in Jessica, SM has been so fucked up this couple of years I can't believe them anymore. I just hope that as they continue to fuck up, the stock prices decreases more and more to the point that Youngmin should be kick out too.

SM wouldn't make their original contracts, if they didn't know they were going to be profitable. I'm SURE that their investment in her has been made many times over. If it wasn't, why would they resign her or any of the girls? This is one of the most profitable groups in the world. You REALLY think they haven't made their money back?

Lols. You must not know how businesses work. None of these labels are in the red.

Just because they're profitable, doesn't make it right. But that's just me, hating Asian idol culture and the practices therein. Whatever.

tbh a lot of these groups probably should stop while they're ahead.

And lulz at that clip. Jessica's voice for daaaaaaayyyysssssssss.

ahtka-chan 2nd October 2014 03:46 AM

Let's be honest, lots of artists have their clothing brand and that never conflicts with the group schedule.

And GG schedule is almost inexistent. In between their albums, they practically disappear from Earth.

I'm with Jessica on this. I'm just sad she has bonds wih SM for the next years :/

thinkingoutloud89 2nd October 2014 08:02 AM

:eyebrow no, in Korea and China they do fanmeeting events, god they even performed Mr.Mr. for like 3 years in music shows and they also perform their classics

bluegie 2nd October 2014 02:54 PM

There are too many insiders' stories flying around. Some said all members kicked her out, some said SM forced the members to kick her out, and some said 5 members kicked her out and three against it (a few sources said that Yoona and Hyoyeon were two of three who trying to keep sica).

But I think that this is going too far now with point of no return. Sica blew up the her anguished feeling on weibo, SM made a really mellow statement, then Sica made her statement saying that it was 8 other members against her idea in the first place. If SM was the one doing that, probly the outcome would be slightly better. But from Sica's statement, she pointed out her betrayal from other girls.

So now, the SNSD world is shattered into pieces, SONEs formed into three sides: sica, the other 8 members, and the group who stand in the middle hoping that 9 will be back together. I highly doubt this will happen tho if Sica thinks (and if it's true that) the others kicked her out. Now netizens think that Sica is a selfish person, and the others are fakers and actresses. The halos on their head disappear and they're no longer angels.

Sigh... even tho I'm not really a SONE, I have been their casual fan since their debut in Japan. I just can't believe that the national girl group (the one of the most famous Korean group) would end up like that...

Tom Punks 3rd October 2014 02:59 AM

no one knows, but for quite a while it was evident that whenever Jessica tried to interact with her, Taeyeon would pretty much ignore her and appear to be somewhat annoyed, so people assumed that they must have had a fight somehow and Taeyeon never forgave Jessica. Of course, no one knows for sure, but it was quite obvious the both of them didn't get along well when you started watching some videos of them together.

Years ago, when I wasn't a fan of SNSD, I read on a blog, that Jessica kissed some members of TVXQ, Is that true? They called her b@tch and more beautiful nicknames, lol.

I am a fan since their Japanese debut, so I'm not sure.

ayu_ready? 3rd October 2014 09:16 AM

I know that VIPs and Sones have been battling for ages, YG is always opposed to SM, but this time I should say that YG also had some scandals this year, including the horrid Bom scandal, still, we can see how YG actually stands up for his artists. of course there was an issue with Gummy, yet she was let go upon the mutual agreement and both parties left satisfied, yet considering anything about its artists, YG seems to be more protective compared to SM. I don't know what became of the SM management, supposedly the golden age when BoA and Hyori were a part of SM were quite different in management compared to nowadays, this I cannot understand why so many problems in the human resources department

Yes, I've seen the photo on elevator of Jessica kissing some TVXQ guy

ExodusUK 3rd October 2014 04:48 PM

Jessica and Taeyeon have been cold for nearly 5 years. Well Jessica tries to engage but Taeyeon is just a cold sly fox...

pimenta 4th October 2014 09:31 AM

the whole "Jessica wasn't following her schedule" thing is getting more and more unbelievable. Jessica has BLANC, but she was also following all Jessica & Krystal program schedule, she recorded a whole album with her sister and she didn't miss a single SNSD schedule. Seems to me she was one of the members putting the biggest effort in all her activities. Seriously, the members need to give a better excuse for kicking her out than the schedule one, specially since no one seems to mind Sooyoung missing the SMTOWN just now....

thinkingoutloud89 4th October 2014 11:55 AM

Moreover three of them have the TTS thingie...why shouldn't the otherones do their stuff meanwhile?

ahtka-chan 4th October 2014 11:58 PM

Someone posted this in an article and i thought it was interesting to share. It's about how Jessica wasn't a lazy member:

Quote:

d say she's not lazy but efficient

good singer, but not the best in the group
was a good dancer but slacked off to be sufficient, known for putting in least effort but not for most errors
a visual, not main visual
gets enough exposure (covershoots, airport pics, pretty sns selfies, musical, own reality show) without looking like a tryhard
is a fan favorite
grabs lots of CFs, but not the most

it's actually a pretty smart way of living.
i guess this is what happened with blanc and the group activities. efficient enough to get by.

i can see how others who have to work much harder, are more skilled but get less out of it at one point either admire her or become jealous and fed up with her. it's just human nature.
I pretty much agree.

bluegie 5th October 2014 07:05 AM

Let's say in this way:

Obviously she's not the best singer but to me she's just behind Taeyeon. She's better than Seohyun a bit, and I dun think Tiffany is the top 3 vocal in the group.

Dance skill wise, we can say that Yoona, Sooyoung, Yuri, and Hyoyeon are the "dance troops" in the group. Sica dances pretty well, except the fact that she only did 70 to 80% effort most of the times, and still looked good compared to below average dancers.

visionfactory 5th October 2014 05:54 PM

The fact is that she was the only sexy member of SNSD and that's a huge loss

terra 5th October 2014 06:20 PM

I think kicking her out is not a wise decision group-wise. They lost a talented vocalist, a sexy member, a member with good exposure, general fan favorite, one of the face of SNSD, The queen of China and Japan. If they can't count that as assets coming for investing in her, I wonder what company SM is and how does it operate.

visionfactory 5th October 2014 07:20 PM

^Yeah I don't really see what's the point, everyone's loosing in this game... If they announced a graduation, they could do a special last single for Jessica and a special tour for her graduation making LOTS of money actually!!

I really don't know what's on their minds :rolleyes

edit:

Instant Karma @ TOKYO SM TOWN

SKYia 5th October 2014 07:34 PM

This looks like punishement for me, as if she really offended some HUGE-ego big fish CEO, otherwise I'm sure they would actually announce her leaving earlier, release few things to earn as much money as possible.

terra 5th October 2014 08:15 PM

^I had the same hunch, after all SM's Top Managements seem to have problems when their investments venture out without they're being involved, or some sort. Which if it's true, make this whole fiasco super dumb.

LMAO look at that. SM doesn't realize what a huge part that Jessica filled until things like that happen. I cannot imagine their future performances :|

I agree about graduating her thing, they can monetize it and make things ends in better terms, saving some faces, relieving fans with sufficient explanations and etc etc.

bluegie 5th October 2014 11:33 PM

They will have lot more to fill because Sica ALWAYS had bigger parts in the songs, especially those early ones when she and Tae were like the main attractions in the songs. Even she had "lesser" part in recent songs (yeah Tiffany got more), her parts were quite unique (e.g., IGAB). I dun think anyone can replace her vocal. Even Tae, who sounds similar to Sica, can't replicate sica's style.

ahtka-chan 6th October 2014 01:50 AM

The problem here is that, it's not only because she pissed off some CEO or anything like that, everyone is saying that the other members took part in her ousting, which is pretty sad if it's really true.

waterballoon 6th October 2014 03:50 AM

from the video in Shenzhen I can feel that Tiffany is with Jessica.. that pointing the mic to the audience during Jessica's part in Gee was a major "FUCK YOU SM" to me lol you go BFFs

anyway it's stupid... I'm not surprised SM pulled another scandal with their groups but I'm quite shocked it's SNSD, cos they are one of their biggest cash cows.. oh well.

I don't care much now, but just thinking of what Jessica would feel makes me really pissed off. stuck with them for another 3 years and God knows what gross projects they will make her pull out. *rolls eyes*

adantatu2 6th October 2014 03:51 AM

Honestly my favourite vocalist was Jessica, her voice is always so sexy and unique !

emi♡ 6th October 2014 03:53 AM

I love how people say that Jessica wasn't one of the best vocalists lol

Most of the girls can barely even sing :laugh It was her, Tae, Seo carrying their asses, with Sunny throwing in her two cents here and there, and Tiffany tryharding.

waterballoon 6th October 2014 03:59 AM

yep I totally disagree with people shitting on Jessica's vocals.. I don't even like Taeyeon's vocals much they're good but flat with 0 personality. at least Jessica's has that "I know it's her" quality & Tiffany has a unique timber that I love!

let's just sit down and admit SM/SNSD fucked up big time by letting Jessica go

terra 6th October 2014 04:25 AM

Sooyoung is my bias, but doing my best to look at it with neutral eyes, I don't think she is laughing at Jessica being kicked out, or seemingly "happy". Looks so weird all together. Also, I think it's unfair that she has to be the first one to address this officially, it should be Tae..

Kouyou 15th October 2014 02:36 AM

Maybe I was being a little hopeful, but after almost seven years as nine I thought they would stay that way for much longer than this, and of all the members I imagined would leave first, I never imagined Jessica. She's so popular, beautiful, and an amazing singer. This is a big loss for SNSD, no doubt. I feel so bad for Jessica. SNSD will never be the same without her.

For me, at least, this is vastly different from other groups having members leave or be replaced. Girls' Generation is the biggest group in K-Pop and they went a long time without anyone leaving. Also, for me personally, GG was my first K-Pop group and one of (if not my) favorite(s). This sucks. I knew they wouldn't be together forever, but this is such a bummer.

kimmeh 15th October 2014 06:37 AM

^Not really, for me it was more like "oh, that's her again" about three times, when you're not into her she doesn't stand out much.

visionfactory 15th October 2014 07:21 PM

^lol stop being on denial it's really obvious that she opens a lot of songs for example Gee, Genie, The Boys and DO THE CATWALK

ahtka-chan 15th October 2014 08:10 PM

^PAPARAZZI and ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU as well.

Huge loss

Maybe, I don't really like her so I'm not that conscious of her, she's just there, I'm always looking at other members.

That's what I said, I have been absent from listening to their songs mainly because I know Sica has most parts / opens most of their songs. She's not my bias but that fact kinda saddens me :|

Jessica pretty much sings the majority of their unique Japanese songs. For whatever reason...especially the ballads.

Also the PV is kinda funny...the chorus only seems to use 3-4 voices yet they're all lipsyncing.

The color coded version if anyone is interested :

I look forward to seeing how they reimagine the song structures without Jessica. I'm not devastated she's gone. 8 more members we should be fine. As long as we keep getting fun music and cute videos im cool.

visionfactory 27th October 2014 06:25 AM

I think they will make a statement they just can't get a comeback and do as nothing happened

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

adantatu2 27th October 2014 06:28 AM

I'm sad without Jessica, but I'm sure SM is going to prepare something amazing for the next comeback to cover this incident

ahtka-chan 27th October 2014 02:05 PM

^If it turns out to be as amazing as Mr. Mr. or I GOT A BOY, I hope they disband for good.

kimmeh 27th October 2014 03:30 PM

^ Wut?

Tom Punks 27th October 2014 03:43 PM

^ I think she's being sarcastic, as in "they might as well not even come back if they're not going to deliver something better than Mr. Mr. and I GOT A BOY."

kimmeh 27th October 2014 03:59 PM

I loved those two albums :laugh well, Mr Mr had 3 good songs.

milky_way 28th October 2014 06:49 AM

I don't care what anyone says, I GOT A BOY was flaw-free :heart

Tom Punks 28th October 2014 02:37 PM

I stan for I GOT A BOY. I can totally understand why someone would dislike it though. I generally think the guy that produced is terrible and his works for SM's other artists have been god awful. His songs all sound disjointed and like forced-out uninspired compositions; it just happened to actually work for IGAB lol.

visionfactory 28th October 2014 04:46 PM

^I feel that way about IGAB it really sounds disjointed and forced, I don't like it

adantatu2 28th October 2014 10:20 PM

I like the edition for TV performances, but the original version is kinda bad.

love in music 29th October 2014 02:14 AM

IGAB was somewhat tolerable for me in the performances/MV because the choreography was entertaining. But honestly it's such a messy and annoying song.
