The covers are awful but I love the preview

I would have liked that highly professional fan made cover better. It's interesting at least.
Haven't listen to the preview yet. But I'm hoping that after the last three albums, which I found boring as hell most of the time, that the new songs won't be just some demo left overs by US popstars like the last album was.
Past<Future was great. That was a creative album. I want something creative from Namie again.

the chorus seems generic but a positive generic, it's soothing, I like it but it sounds like a B-side so far

To me it also sounds very b-side-ish (got to listen it on FB), like Still Lovin' You meets Contrail, but I was hoping for something in the veins of Neonlight Lipstick meets Ballerina... It doesn't seem to be a bad song, but it didn't impress me either

When you put it like that, the cover is a disaster. But the CD edition has grown on me. The CD DVD one should never have been made.

I know namie is a fashionable/fashonista woman but make a song with the title: Red Carpet or Black Make up sounds so materialist for me, but anyway a new single is coming after all.

I thought Red Carpet would be similar to Photogenic, but it just sounds like a meh version of BRIGHTER DAY crossed with Still Lovin' You. Both of which I love.

Definitely sounds like a b-side to me too.

I have no problem with the covers. They're not the best but Namie's never are xD I'm just happy to have new music and I was happy to hear some Japanese in it!!!

Everything is leaking early because it's the Christmas season.
I actually don't like it at all. She's talking about walking on a red carpet and it sounds so light and fluffy. Well I guess if she wanted to serve a true reverse ballerina expedition, then she did. But thankfully I don't have to waste money on this tripe. I'll buy an old hitomi album instead.

Black Make Up can be awsome.
Song is to Still Lovin U for me, which I foudn kinda lame. I'm just happy she moved away from the genic_ sound which ended up to be too generic for a Namie album.

I feel like the song belongs in some cheesy Lifetime tv movie. That being said, I actually don't mind the song. It's cute. Hopefully Black Make Up is a little better.

And like...that cover I just can't. It's a piece of silk flying in the air and she's wearing a gray trench coat. How boring. She can do much better. Also the lyrics are very sappy and "you complete me and make me the greatest"--you'd think she'd emote a bit more in the cover.

After hearing "Red Carpet" in full...I have totally grown to really love it! :heart It's just so sweet, uplifting and catchy, once you listen to it a few times...which is what I've been doing for the past 15 minutes. :laugh :P I wonder what the PV will be like!

It just sounds like another BRIGHTER DAY, and to be honest, even if it's nice, a little, it's not the kind of music I like to listen to from namie which is more up beat and well more FEEL/_genic pop rather than that kind of pop (very generic?). I just hope her next album won't be full of these.
I can listen to kana or something if I want this kind of music.

I think that BRIGHTER DAY and Red Carpet are really made for the Japanese audience, that's the kind of music they like (also lyrics). The b-side SWEET KISSES and maybe the 2nd a-side here might be more my type.

The covers are a disaster, if we consider the plenty of universes that could have been used for the theme Red (carpet) / Black (make up), artsy & aesthetic things. But I suppose that they didn't want to spend a lot on a single cover (see BRIGHTER DAY and TSUKI covers...)

I am in total love with the "Red Carpet" PV, so far. :love It's simple, yet classy & done absolutely right! The setting is completely fitting to the song, too. I can totally see a Christmas/Holiday-ish vibe to it & I also must say...that I'm sooo loving the way Namie's dress looks in the video, alot more than how it looks in the single covers. :laugh So gorgeous! :heart I'm hoping the full PV will be out sometime soon!

Ballerina from TSUKI, Sweet Kisses from BRIGHTER DAY and Black Make Up (even though they are not stellar but they are quite nice). The rest of the single songs on these singles weren't on par.

Listening to Red Carpet again since the first time I listened almost a month ago or whenever the song first came out and I found that red carpet is actually BETTER than black make up. But it's still a subpar release that will be quickly forgotten.
