^SHAKE IT + 24 still have a chance since they were a single (24.11)

kaled kalil 9th February 2020 06:44 PM

Selfish was also part of the single, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for.

Party_King 9th February 2020 08:33 PM

^ Wait, IIRC Selfish wasn’t a single (or part of any Single). It was just a video release (girls~Selfish), or?

kaled kalil 9th February 2020 08:56 PM

Girls~Selfish was a dvd single with SHAKE IT and 24, the single was released in November.

That's correct. For quite some time I thought it was a single but it turned out to be video release.

Sucks that we aren't getting all the MVs but having the good majority of the MVs on YouTube is better than nothing. At least I can share those with my friends and new people I meet who want to be introduced to KK. As long as they aren't going to take them down after Dec 6th 2020. lmao that would be very disappointing.

This is awesome news. At this point, I don't care if it's DVD or Blu-ray, I just hope it's not a digest video like ~second session~ release party was. Even if they don't put all the talking parts in full I hope that the performances won't be cut.

Marurosu 10th February 2020 01:09 AM

I'd love to see TRICK performed again! Can't wait to see the 19th->20th event!

Having some footages from the 19th anniversary fanclub event is better than having none to begin with especially this's fanclub related

It depends on what Rhythm Zone decides on what should be in or out of the footages

It could be performances only but no talk segments but vice versa

We'll see

Corvina 10th February 2020 07:32 AM

As somebody wondered about Kuu and her team uploading all PVs on youtube with the first announcement already - it might even be on purpose to not upload all PVs, cause maybe they wanna sell them on that teased Singles Best.
For sure there are reasons for it, would be naive to think they simply forget them.
I mean they never announced they will upload all PVs

All tickets for the Nagoya re(LIVE) dates are sold out now!
Kuu's appareances for Tokyo 2020 he and that other variety show are going to air today and tomorrow.
And on Saturday she's performing at the Empower Children Charity concert.

They don't call the 19th Anniversary event a digest, so the performances will probably be on the release in full (as that was what Kuu was reviewing in her Insta stories).
But I expect the talk part to be cut for the most part.

Gustavopc 10th February 2020 02:14 PM

Selfish is such a bop still after all those years. And the video is simple yet the looks she gave us are everything to me lol

I wonder when we'll get previews from re(MIX), I am hoping for some killer mixes on OMG, STRIP and DO ME.

Also it'll soon be feel my mind's anniversary, but it had no video for the albums tracks... It'd be so sad if nothing gets uploaded, hope they at least upload COME WITH ME so Kuu can say something about the album lol I love it so much but it gets so little attention.

Party_King 10th February 2020 02:34 PM

^ yes, i can’t wait for re(MIX), I stan for her remix albums :luv2
Also I’m still unsure about the Black Cherry & JAPONESQUE non-stop Remix Discs.
Are these new mixes or old mixes non-stop mixed. I want to know that haha :D
I guess I’ll never get a great remix of Lay Down...

kaled kalil 10th February 2020 04:50 PM

I think it will be a Megamix of the live recording, judging by the name.

I'm excited for reMIX as well.

I thought about this too, but it doesn’t make sense, since it’s called a remix non-stop mix. Also she’s gonna release the two concerts already as live albums the same day...

She performed Rich & Famous there, so there's a chance that they might show only a short version of this particular performance. I'm hoping that it's a full version of the event but I'll be happy if it is only a digest too.

The tracklist for re(MIX) is out as well as for non-stop remix CDs for the FC/HMV Editions. The only two tracks which aren't included are Rich & Famous, as I expected, and LLVL. They got replaced with additional remixes of k, & GF2019.

non-stop remix CDs don't detail who did which remix at this point. Both CDs have the exact tracklist as the lives. You can find them on re(LIVE) website: https://rhythmzone.net/koda/relive/

It depends on how much footages Rhythm Zone is willing to make available since Rich & Famous was the song that stopped avex Taiwan from making re(CORD)

Rhythm Zone could cut out Rich & Famous performance entirely while leave the rest of the performance setlist intact

From my experience record labels rarely include fanclub related concert footages in full , not just talking about fanclub related events

Not to say it doesn't happen but end of the day it's up to the record label's decision on what they feel should be included or excluded

Both non-stop remix CDs are ending with “walk“, so no WOML remix here...

I can see why they skipped R&F due to all the copyrights and so but I wish one of the two GOLDFINGER's remixes was actually LVLL... Well, not a big deal but still a bit odd two songs getting two remixes. I guess they picked the most popular tracks for that?

Corvina 12th February 2020 01:52 PM

They also released a promo video for Black Cherry (not listed, which is why it's not poppin up as a new upload on her youtube account).

Next week 02/19 we're getting one for Japonesque and the 3 weeks after (till the release I suppose) we'll also get something.

If the non-stop Remix CDs are actually Remixes, you’ll get one or two remixes of LLVL...:D

Gustavopc 12th February 2020 05:11 PM

Oh, you're right, hadn't thought of that! I'm kinda not caring much about these two remix live albums cause I didn't understand the idea around them tbh lol Let's see if we get audio previews soon, maybe they'll surprise me.

Party_King 12th February 2020 06:20 PM

^ i refuse to believe that the non-stop remix album will be a live album.
It’s called remix, they wrote remix behind every single song.
It better IS a remix album... haha :D

It has to be a remix album otherwise what's the point of calling it so unless they are going to remix live tracks and not studio versions, which would be weird. I just expect that remixes on those CDs will be shorter than on re(MIX).

And I didn't notice it until you pointed it out that both non-stop remix CDs include walk and WOML has been left out. WOML wasn't remixed in the past so it would have been nice to get a remix for it, I mean they are remixing dance interludes but can't remix the actual song. Stranger things.

I think it's a cool idea and adds value to the pricey HMV / FC Editions if executed well. I just hope the quality of remixes is on DH level and that they won't recycle any old ones, they haven't done it since DH5.

kaled kalil 13th February 2020 01:25 AM

Watch it being a live album and the remix factor is that all songs are short versions to fit 'em all. It would be awesome if it was studio recording with the live mixes, from rehearsals or something.

About (reMIX): I love iamSHUM remixes (HOT HOT and Work That are great), KATFYR always sounds the same to me. Adolfo's remix is a surprise, it will be intereting to see more latin flavor in GOLDFINGER'19. Kiyoshi Sugo love a chorus without lyrics, and I'm not a fan at all, so I'm not that excited about OMG and GET NAKED sadly. MATZ has one of her most listened remixes (SWEETEST TABOO), so no surprise that he's back, and for a ballad again from DHit's 8. One month until the release, so let's wait and see.

Corvina 13th February 2020 09:32 AM

The rest of the covers are out.

Yeah, makes sense, it's what I thought first, but as I posted above it's written non-stop remix on the FC post.

kaled kalil 13th February 2020 12:42 PM

Love the main picture, just wish the hand was clear from the glitch, I had to look twice to understand that she's coming out of the picture. The effects are cool anyway.

Corvina 13th February 2020 01:54 PM

Kuu just posted this.

They're going to include a photo booklet in the Live CD called "Instagram Extra Stories".
It's going to include live photos as well as off-shots backstage.

Gustavopc 13th February 2020 02:43 PM

To me it's her best remix album cover since DH5! I really like how the effects give a mash-up/dubstep vibe to the image, so it's very fitting. Also a big fan of the coming out concept. Can't wait to hear those tracks!

taskinillusion 13th February 2020 11:05 PM

I am loving all of these new PV uploads!!! "Trust you" has always been one of my favorites of hers since I first heard it back in 2005, and I love the video! She looks so hot in her older videos (not that she doesn't look amazing nowadays, of course!). I still love her skunk hair! :laugh

Gustavopc 14th February 2020 02:49 PM

I was trying to find a pic from Kuu that I don't remember if it's from AND or DNA's shooting, but couldn't. She was sitting in a red chair, and it looked like she was naked? The chair was covering most of her body so you couldn't tell. Does anyone have it and could share it please?

It's from the DNA FC Edition photobook. There was a series in different colored chairs. I don't have scans of it, but I'm sure they're somewhere.

WIND PV

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBYiS2DUv_8

tokyoxjapanxfan 15th February 2020 03:37 AM

Wind is one of her most nostalgic songs for me.
It makes me feel sad somehow haha. Such a good time in my life, and that feeling of discovering new things...

I don’t feel the same about her newer music as I do about her older stuff, but I really loved her work up until maybe Trick. This is more J-POP in general, though. I feel like a weird shift happened around 2009. Actually Japan itself I feel had a shift. It’s like, there was a sexiness about the early to mid 2000s and then by the 2010s it feels like a conservative movement took hold again and it was like the death of “ero-kakkoii”. But I digress...

Anyway, 2000~2006... man. So many amazing songs! Like Cutie Honey... the production value is crazy. Chase too! J-POP used to feel expensive xD (I just happened to listen recently lol)

I have the exact same feeling about WIND. The song is happy however I feel nostalgic and so since its release.
The PV is so cute and well done. Her best cute PV for sure.

I agree once again.
Her most qualitative era was from 2004 to 2012. With highlights from 2004 to 2008 for me.
Her music became less kumi-ish/JPOP-ish after JAPONESQUE release.
Still love what she releases nowadays but it felt different.

I also felt the whole JPOP world become less entertaining at early 2010s.
However I’m happy with her current image. Although I loved her ero-kakkoii days, I wouldn’t appreciate to see her releasing PVs like JUICY now that she is married and has a boy.
I think she is still able to be really sexy without trying too much to be seen like this.

And this is for a bargain of 550 yens, comparing to her official stream that was 5000 yens for both concerts. Not sure if I'm gonna try to record this time around, I already did for the "original" final performance, and niconico's stream system is not the best.

I've never really cared for WIND, sorry. And since I wasn't following her releases back then I don't have the nostalgia factor for it.

No offense, you sound like an old man here. ._.

Ero-kakkoii is still her image in Japan.
It just developed with her through the years, less trashy, more of an adult kind of raunchy.
It's just not widely popular anymore, if that's what you mean.

If you start something with no offense, it’s probably offensive. Nothing I said was an attack on her. I was talking about ero kakkoii as a movement, because she inspired a lot of acts to be more sexual in their image due to the huge rise in her popularity.

I didn't take it as an attack, which is why I seperated it from the rest I wrote.
I only meant it directed to your "everything-was-better-in-the-past"-tone of your post, not really meant serious as I'm simply not a nostalgic person myself (hence the smiley).^^

tokyoxjapanxfan 16th February 2020 07:29 AM

Okay. :)
I’d just like to clarify that I do not think everything was better in the past. But Japanese pop culture was far more colorful. The 2010s hit and I feel it became sad and dull (as a whole).

And I will continue to reminisce about Kuu’s past, considering it’s her 20th anniversary and she’s releasing videos on their release dates lol.

thinkingoutloud89 16th February 2020 10:23 AM

^I rather think it is a combination of nostalgia, ones own age and the fact that a different kind of music was "in" all over the world. Japan shifted back to a more cute style over all while there is also an urban-indie scene that developed but never really took of. Everything else is just in between. I also feel like that there is a really small number of "really big" artist compared to back when.

Corvina 16th February 2020 10:28 AM

I don't mind the story at all, as it plays with Koda Gumi and her staff and fan nickname (Kumi chou - boss Kumi, but also the word for a yakuza boss or the boss of a "kumi/gumi", a certain form of company) and it's only a PV anyway. Acting isn't really that bad imo, fitting for a PV. It's playful and overdone on purpose.
And I absolutely adore her styling and the choreography!
I guess overall it is really well liked.

thinkingoutloud89 16th February 2020 04:26 PM

^nah i rewatched it and as much as I love the choreo and the outfits I think it is way to cringy.

Party_King 16th February 2020 04:33 PM

I love the Love Me Back PV... the story is bland but the execution is nice...
She looks extremely hot and the choreo is fierce.

kaled kalil 16th February 2020 04:44 PM

I love Love Me Back (album version), it's such a b-movie type of PV that it becomes entertaining. I love the looks, the dancing, the only part I dislike is the love interest (both men are not that attractive, you can't always win).

I don't mind the shift from her over the top ero-kakkoi to what we get nowadays, because people nowadays see overly sexy things, specially for someone her age (she's not old at all, but we all know how society and pop acts are seen when they are over 35...), as trying too hard or something like that. For example, I love PCD and their new single REACT is a bop, but I can't see Kumi dancing and doing poses like this...

https://i.imgur.com/jVPJyZm.jpg

... which is something she basically did back in the day. I'm all in for women expressing their "sexyness" and all, but I don't think this is what Kumi wants right now.

We all know this isn't the '00 anymore, sex doesn't sell as it did back in the day, if we go to a more "please the audience" route.

It's not that long since SO FEVER, and that's was such a throwback to her ero-kakkoi days.

It does. Even more now that then, at least in the west.

I love the fact that her image has evolved and matured. She has handled it really well.

kaled kalil 16th February 2020 05:15 PM

^ Where? The biggest stars are not selling sex as the other girls did back in the 2000.

Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Taylor, to mention few names. We live in times where is more important to be relatable than being sexy. I think the only one in my list that is trying to be sexy and all is Dua Lipa, but her new era is based on nostalgia, and to a lot of people "sexy pop icon" is nostalgic.

You know that girls are selling sex when they are part of men's magazine as well, like Maxim or GQ. Pretty much all pop acts from the 2000 were part of this era.

Each to his own, I love me some good trash here and there. ;)
Well, fun fact: The Japanese caption in the beginning actually only says the guy is "believed to be the head of Koda Gumi", so you can interpret Kuu being the real boss. :D
And as usual she is depicted as the one in power, one of the main points of her ero-kakkoii/sexy image.
Which makes it even better with her mafia play, as those are almost exclusively male. :laugh

And another fun fact:
Kuu took it from her staff and uses "kumi chou" as her print for her own tour/festival shirts (or also the English translation "boss" sometimes instead).

And regarding Love me back , it's a great guilty pleasure song that I still liked up to now which I'm not ashamed to admit

Speaking of Love Me Back, it's a pity we never got to see the supposed Say Her Name PV.

that works well for me, because the attention goes entirely to Love Me Back (I agree with everyone praising the PV, one of my favorites!), which is amazing. can't say the same about the other track, sorry :P

Brief performance footages from Sat's LIVE EMPOWER CHILDREN 2020 charity concert

https://twitter.com/KODAKUMINET/stat...04685007273984

I don't like pink but blush pink is ok for me x)

Corvina 17th February 2020 09:27 AM

Apart from Mezamashi, Sukkiri also aired footage of the charity concert.
Sukkiri also aired an inerview with one of the MCs, who was present Saturday as well (the pic Karen posted).
Her mic was still one when she was leaving the stage, so everybody was able to hear her saying "I was so nervous" to the staff. :laugh

Speaking of Sukkiri - they announced some days ago that Kuu will appear on Sukkiri on Feburary 19, on Wednesday, in the Haruna summary corner with a live performance.
Don't know what this part of the show is about, but wondering what she will sing.
As it's a live TV programme exact air time is not scheduled.

EDIT:
And just like that Sukkiri just made a tweet with the annoucnement!

https://twitter.com/ntv_sukkiri/stat...18865835810816

Viewers will be able to vote which of Kuu's many hit songs they wanna have her perform on Wednesday!
I assume it's going to be a live vote.

Also reminds me of the bit in AT THE WEEKEND where it goes "Who's the boss? I'm the boss". :) I think that fundamental attitude of 'woman in power' combined with the confident sexy look is what's always attracted me to Kuu.

It's nice to see on that a lot of people are asking for a lot of her newer songs on that Twitter thread.

tokyoxjapanxfan 18th February 2020 02:50 AM

Driving Hit’s 1 is a fun album.

I completely forgot about “come over” lol

Corvina 18th February 2020 07:58 AM

Kuu confirmed the voting tomorrow will be a live voting.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...922/iXYqZW.png

But yeah, it's great so many people are answering Sukkiri's tweet with newer songs (again, OMG and STRIP e.g. are mentioned a lot).
Let's see what they'll make available and how this is going to turn out!

Ayu_Love 18th February 2020 12:32 PM

^I do hope STRIP gets picked, I'd love to see it live. A lot of people have said Merry Go Round as well which is also a great option.

Party_King 18th February 2020 01:08 PM

SHUTOUT would be great!

KarenPang 18th February 2020 01:48 PM

Looks like it's either Ai no Uta or Butterfly on tomorrow's Sukkiri!! live broadcast :s

https://twitter.com/ntv_sukkiri/stat...80514811846656

I like STRIP but don't think it's appropriate for Kuu to perform it early in the morning :s

But I do agree about Merry Go Round , it's a very under rated re(CORD) album track

Corvina 18th February 2020 01:55 PM

I think she's performign two songs: One voted today through Twitter (Butterfly or Ai no Uta - Butterfly has over 90% of the votes) and a live voted song.
Cause Kuu says there's going to be a vote vor real-time-viewers tomorrow.

Corvina 19th February 2020 02:27 AM

It only was Butterfly vs. Ai no Uta and Butterfly won with around 50k votes through remote control (Ai no Uta had 38k).
She had to start singing twice, cause she started laughing. Actually the 2nd time she was laughing, too, but she pulled through. xD
She was trending.

Most important info tho: Arena tour is planned to start in autumn!

jiarongisme 19th February 2020 02:36 AM

^ So it's gonna be around the same period as re(LIVE) then? Time to start planning my Japan trip!

The look of absolutely gorgeous!

Gustavopc 19th February 2020 12:39 PM

I thought ot would start after summer cause of the Olympics. Hope she plans on doing a special final for the first week of December!

I love that the Eh Yo remix is a bit speeded up, I always felt like the original song was a bit too slow and could be more energetic. Seems promising. GET NAKED's best part is right at the end of the teaser, I'm so curious for the whole thing lol SHUTOUT is fiiiire. The second k remix is also promising, gives me Hey baby vibes :P

The rest sounds okay, couldn't tell much from the previews. Seems like it'll be better than DH8 and 9 to me.

chocopockymaster 19th February 2020 03:28 PM

Aww I don’t like that in the second k, mix they got rid of the high-pitch “K!!!” in the chorus

ETA: wait you guys I’m shook; I didn’t realize the nonstop mixes were being done by iamSHUM (Black Cherry) and REMO-CON (JAPONESQUE)?!?!?

KLJames 19th February 2020 04:10 PM

omg, my fav OMG from reCORD sound so bad in reMIX... sigh....

Ayu_Love 19th February 2020 04:58 PM

I really love the lowlights and highlights she's put into her hair, I hope she keeps it! Also I'm so glad that the tour is in autumn, I was banking on that for my first trip to Japan this year to see her.

Can anybody tell me what price her tour tickets usually go for? I assume it's best to subscribe to the global fanclub and try and get tickets from there instead of another website? Sorry I know I've asked these questions before. :s

Corvina 19th February 2020 05:33 PM

Sukkiri described her as getting more and more ero-kakkoii the older she gets. :cool
Kuu didn't really expect Ai no Uta to lose, which was the reason she had to laugh starting Butterfly.
It did her really well, she basically went viral with it - the fan post about the "laughing miss" KuuXAyu-fan already posted is one of the most popular on Twitter today!
Lots of articles about it as well. Especially cause she performed Butterfly well after that, she is praised by Japanese netizens.

The re(MIX) previews sound pretty laid-back overall, which is not my preference. I'm team club banger as well. But never judge something before having it in full!

In recent years between 8,000 and 9,000 Yen.
As it's an anniversary tour it might be a bit cheaper.
The best and easiest way for a foreign fan is getting tickets through the FC, yes!

Party_King 19th February 2020 05:38 PM

Suprisingly I like both remixes of k, - it's my least favorite Song on re(CORD)
Also Merry Go Round, SHUTOUT and Summer Time are really great.
Adolfo's Remix of GOLDFINGER 2019 is terrible... i was so full of hopes after his nice Koi no Tsubumi remix... :( but at least the socond remix of GF19 is great!
Put Your Hands Up!!! and GET NAKED are bland as hell...
The other remixes seems to be okayish...

But we'll see, for DH7 I hated the preview of Cupcake but now I really enjoy that Mix :)

Toniayu123 19th February 2020 06:11 PM

I love the preview for strip. Shoutout sounds the same to me lol

kaled kalil 20th February 2020 01:02 AM

If you want to buy the McQueen dress, there it is: https://www.intermixonline.com/mcq-b...0434RNK20.html

It seems that it's going to be a good remix album! So far these are my thoughts

Good
k, (shadw Remix)
Eh Yo (KATFYR Remix)
GOLDFINGER 2019 (Adolfo De La Torre Casmartiño Remix)
SHUTOUT (BUNNY Remix)
DO ME (KATFYR Remix)
GOLDFINGER 2019 (DJ Shimamura Remix)
k, (KAZBONGO Remix)

Okay
STRIP (KAZBONGO Remix)
プチョヘンザッ!!! (iamSHUM Remix)
again (MATZ Remix)
GET NAKED (Kiyoshi Sugo Remix)

Whatever
Merry Go Round (Toki Remix)
Summer Time (iamSHUM Remix)
OMG (Kiyoshi Sugo Remix)

Not a single one that is awful, like the Lippy one from DHits 7. Summer Time and OMG are my least favorites, they are too slow and don't have the same punch as the originals. SHUTOUT and DO ME could easily replace the original mix. I love both k, and GOLDFINGER'19 remixes, Adolfo's remix reminds me of Beach Mix.

Party_King 20th February 2020 03:21 AM

^ we seem to have a totally different taste haha :D
I sooo love that Lippy Remix from DH7

minkAYuko 20th February 2020 07:55 AM

@ Ayu_Love - the best legal way to obtain Kuu's tickets is to join her fanclub as priority tends to be given to fanclub members when comes to ticket balloting

There tends to be a cut off deadline to join her fanclub so if you join before any ticket balloting details are released prior to any new concert or tour , you will be fine

And then it falls on Rhythm Zone to decide if your ticket balloting application will be successful or not
