I remember when I used SAL, to reduce the shipping cost, 2 parcel of 5kg (the maximum for printed matter.) almost all of them were damaged.
I also used surface mail (sea mail) for a 3kg parcel, arrived in good condition, but I had to wait 12 weeks..
thus I used EMS since then, but when I had to pay more than 200€ of shipping.. :thud

I have ~60 magazines, and 75% of the cost is shipping fee.
For most the time, only few ayu pages.

^^^I have yet to try a middleman service to get things from YAJ. The whole process seemed confusing to me, and I don't have the money for it right now. I tend to stick to ebay (mostly Dora's store). Although he usually has the same stuff, once in a while he gets some rare things in which I always try to get, like the 3" singles, or the other side remix singles (which I won 3 of from him recently).

ordering from a middleman site is very pricey but it has its pros and cons. i agree with lacusclyne, buying in packs, its much more cheaper than buying items individually. i would buy ayupans (only in groups), books in packs, magazines in packs (warning=expensive), concert goods. i havent bought cds or think i will since dora sells them for cheap ^^

Dora is pretty good. I don't think he knows what he's selling sometimes! I got a FP copy of F&E and then another time I got just regular pressing. It's a bit strange that he didn't advertise it, he might have got more if he listed it as FP!

^ He once sent me ayu-mi-x II version US. Because it wasn't in my last order, but turns out the disk was ayu-mi-x II version JPN and the back insert was ayu-mi-x II version Acoustic Orchestra. I was expecting him to send it back for free since I don't know how that happened, but he told me to buy something else from the shop.

Dora is a great seller, just I don't know what happened with that ayu-mi-x II version US ordeal xD

i have a question regarding the ayupans. are the hi-chew and the sega ayupans smaller than the normal ayupan?

Hm, I love bidding on YAJ and I did it quite often now and never take notice of the shipping prices inside Japan, but I never get fooled so far.
I use http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com/ and I'm satisfied with them. Their fees aren't too high, they're ok and they're fast on handling your bidding, paying and sending your package out. You also have to choose and say how and when you wanna be your items send to you, that's a good service, you truly have control over everything.

The Hi-chew ayupans are smaller.
For the Sega ones... the keychains have smaller ayupans, but the 4 ex ayupans are bigger than normal.

I never liked buying from Dora because I'm always scared the CDs would have something wrong with them (cracks and such) and most of the time there really are cracks! In fact there was this time I bought & from him and the whole thing shattered to pieces except for the booklet, disc and disc tray ._.

btw I just bought the last Hi-Chew Ayupan I´m mising on ebay.
It was hella expensive (but I got a good deal on the rare Limited TA Ayupan with the huge wide dress some time back, so I can spend more on this^^) but I was sick of not having the last one from this set and not finding it as single one on yahoo XD

o i saw it the $45 one?(hi-chew) ugh i know. these ayupans are expensive, im not trying to rush to get them but their so tempting ^0^ im trying to get the 8cm cds but i keep on looking at other things *ashamed* lol

I've never had anything smashed from Dora, even when he wraps things on the cheap side.

I have about 30 CDs from there - the only one that wasn't 100% was my white H CD - it has a little mess on it, but you only see it if you look in natural light ^^

I know what you mean. I ordered INSPIRE and Moments from him and both had major damage to the jewel cases. Luckily the CD's were fine. He was very apologetic and refunded part of my money though.

^ That just reminded me of something. There was once I bought a CD from him which was supposed to come with an OBI but didn't. So I messaged him about it and he sent it out but it has been about 6 months and it still isn't here yet :( I messaged him that the obi isn't here yet but only told me that he already sent it out and didn't do anything else :( Sad.

Yeah he's got like a database of pics for the items he sells or something.

@Meat Pao: Yeah you have to be really careful with those pics too. I bought the Depend on you re release single from him, thinking it would come with an obi. I open the package once I receive it and i'm like "WTF. Where is the obi?". I went back and checked and the picture of the CD had no obi with it. :/

did you tell him u didn't receive it? same thing happened to me, but i received it within a week.

the irony is that... sometimes when i feedback that the cds come in cracked cases, he offers to send me another casing, but it comes cracked. if he's getting so much feedback about receiving cracked cases, shdn't he be doing something about his packaging method? its a waste when u try to save on bubble wrap and have to fork out extra to send another case overseas.

other than the cracked cases, i really like buying from him though... hope he improves on his packaging...

That's exactly what happened to my copy of Ayu's A single actually :laugh But for the CD that came without an OBI, there was indeed an obi in the picture but I didn't get it, so he sent out another one which until now hasn't arrived yet. I guess it's lost in the mail *sigh*

I did tell him, but he just told me "I already sent it out 2 months ago, thanks" when I asked him in March, so I guess I'm just unlucky!

And yea, I do agree that Dora should improve on his packaging LOL. I buy from a user called mindofjapan too, who packs everything in a box and ships quite as efficient as dora too, just that he doesn't list CDs as often as dora :(

i used to buy from mindofjapan. his things are of better quality, more new looking, less cracks, scratches... his stuff used to be cheaper too... now more ex... and less items... i miss buying my stuff from him...

Yea I really prefer mindofjapan's packaging wayyyyy more than dora. Would pay more for my item shipping to arrive nice and safe lol.

i got em for 8850Y:thud this is baddd...ayupans are eating my money LOL sike its my fault but still im in no rush to collect them all. i got this since 1) their together 2)their still sealed 3)memorial address era= awesomeness. i never buy ayupans separate, its makes it harder to collect them that way in my opinion. it seems like im collecting my ayupans backwards tho :D i tried getting the my story straps that went up to 11000Y i was soo mad cuz the dang bidding thing froze at the very end, preventing me from winning T-T

Will anyone here will be disappointed if they received their Limited TA tour 2003 fan with 2 nasty scratches.. The scratches was not on the photo when I auction it off on e-bay.....

I'd be somewhat disappointed, but I could live with those scratches.

I agree with what you said on that you could live with those scratches on the fan. I am just disappointed on how the user didn't put recent picture of the fan. I wonder how much users are like that on e-bay.

@jkm444: Did you talk to the seller about that? The damage may have happened during shipping, but if they're nice enough they might give you a refund.

I just e-mailed her 2 hours ago about the damage. She packed it really well she put the fan on a flat cardboard box paper thingy.
