^me too, and the desktop calendar

Chiharo 7th March 2011 08:06 PM

I'm bringing no news, so don't get your hopes up, lol.

Because I've received my Seventh Heaven regular edition, I decided to scan it up and share if anyone's interested. I've done this because around the net there are only the limited edition of the album scanned. I've been searching around long time just to see how does the RE version of the booklet looks like, but no luck. It is different from the LE, so take a look yourself if you still haven't.

http://s143.photobucket.com/albums/r...%20RE%20scans/

Yoake 7th March 2011 08:17 PM

OMG thanks a lot.
The booklet is so nice!

Chiharo 7th March 2011 08:50 PM

^You're welcome! I also own Red Moon regular edition, so if anyone wants that, I can also scan it up.

Aderianu 7th March 2011 09:46 PM

thank you, Chiharo~~~

Chiharo 8th March 2011 04:41 PM

Here are the Red Moon scans:

Midori-chan 8th March 2011 04:48 PM

Ah, thank you so much for the scans! :heart

Yoake 8th March 2011 04:53 PM

Thanks a lot for the RED MOON scans.
I really love this booklet. The white background + red moon+ dark kalafina = fantasy & mysterious world.

mellody 12th March 2011 02:40 AM

According to Yuki Kajiura tweet last night, all the members of Kalafina and FictionJunction including band members are safe.

Chandrachan 12th March 2011 04:22 AM

^That's good news

mellody 12th March 2011 04:44 AM

Here is the TV version of symphonia from Rekishi Hiwa Historia OST II:

http://www.mediafire.com/?icl1zwui6i9gyxy

I really like the song. I guess the full version is going to end up either on a new Kalafina single or album. Guess we'll see.

mellody 17th April 2011 04:23 PM

Though it's a TV version, the duration is 4:06, I wonder how long is the original?
Kalafina really have a long duration for a song (red moon, Hikari no Senritsu, etc.) but if it's as good as this song, I won't complain.

Yoake 17th April 2011 06:21 PM

thanks a lot Chiharo!
Symphonia is amazing!

milky_way 17th April 2011 07:18 PM

Flawless song for an even more flawless group :heart

adantatu2 17th April 2011 10:41 PM

another good song

octocoffee 18th April 2011 05:14 AM

Can they do no wrong? I love how uplifting symphonia is.

*hearT_Place* 18th April 2011 06:41 PM

what a beautiful song!

Polyrhythm 6th May 2011 03:32 AM

Kalafina is coming to Anime Expo 2011 in LA.

Ranma Matsuri 6th May 2011 03:41 AM

^Thanks!

Ugh... this is like Berryz going to Seattle all over again... so close and yet so far. Why does the West coast get all the Asian stars? -___-

Well, I guess the footage from the performances will be on the next single or album like last time.

Polyrhythm 6th May 2011 03:45 AM

^To be honest, I have no idea who they are lol. I've heard their song Magia before on some news website and I don't quite remember it. I was so disappointed when they started out the announcement by saying "We are happy to announce popular Japanese pop trio..." Congrats to any CA fans though =/

AyUta 6th May 2011 09:09 PM

Aw, lucky LA people :/

adantatu2 7th May 2011 04:25 AM

omg, i hope you can go there

Mami-chan 30th May 2011 09:28 AM

Hi!
I'm new to Kalafina.. I just wanted to know if you have some link where I can find all their pvs. I can't download from jpopsuki ç_ç

Midori-chan 30th May 2011 09:49 AM

^ Just use Google. Just type in Kalafina Magia PV download (for example).
That's the way I found all of their PVs! :yes

Mami-chan 30th May 2011 10:25 AM

Oh thank you!! :D
I saw some of their performances on youtube and loved them ^^

Yoake 30th May 2011 12:42 PM

Mami-chan=> If you want you can DL them on Nautiljon :http://www.nautiljon.com/clips/kalafina.html

You just need to have an account to DL them & the website is in French but I think it's not hard to understand it. & If you have some difficulties I can help you.

& welcome to the kalafina thread. It's nice to have new fan for this wonderful band.^^

milky_way 30th May 2011 02:10 PM

I wonder when they'll announce a new single...

mellody 30th May 2011 05:26 PM

Only FictionJunction has new single.

Chiharo 14th June 2011 11:29 AM

Kalafina will supposedly release their 3rd album this autumn, as seen on the FJC membership report.

(the image is from twitter)

I'm so excited. Though it's weird they only released two singles for the album. I hope that the B-sides will be included this time around.

mellody 14th June 2011 12:21 PM

I guess you're late, it's already on official website.

But why wasn't it posted here? I didn't know about it until my friend let me know.

mellody 14th June 2011 12:43 PM

That news just popped up yesterday and I kinda forgot about this thread actually, so forgive me.

Anyway, if they release the album this fall, they have a chance to promote (probably) a new song in Animax Musix Fall. Plus, since Kajiura is working with Fate / Zero, I think Kalafina will do a theme song as well.

milky_way 14th June 2011 02:12 PM

Yay! Better start saving up some cash :D

adantatu2 15th June 2011 03:11 AM

yay! an album finally !!
i hope they can release another single

Yoake 19th June 2011 01:04 PM

Good news for the new album^^

Yoake 1st July 2011 04:37 PM

I know It's not a Kalafina's news but as there is none Yuki Kajiuara or fictionjunction thread I think the better place to post it is here.

The song is the title track of their upcoming single “stone cold“, which will be released on August 3rd. “stone cold” has also been claimed as the opening theme song for the anime “Sacred 7“.

When this thread reached 500 post, I will make a new thread which you can post about Yuki Kajiura related, because it's a unity, FJ can't be separated from Kajiura, as well as Kalafina, See-Saw, FJ Yuuka, and so on.

Anyway, stone cold is a hot mess, for real. Everyone looks fierce.

Ranma Matsuri 8th July 2011 05:06 AM

Ah, damn. Album already? D: But I have no monies. T.T Well, it's the music that's important so I'll get over it.

stone cold doesn't sound anything like I'd imagine it would from the title. XD It's pretty beast though and the girls look friggin hot, especially Wakana.

Kalafina rocks Club Nokia for Anime Expo 2011!

After holding a special Q&A panel for their fans earlier in the day, neo-classical pop unit Kalafina headed over to Club Nokia to put on an amazing performance!

Once the club had begun to fill up, the ladies walked onto the stage to a cacophony of cheers, applause, and fans calling out the members’ names. Each of the members wore beautiful, ornate black outfits with blue accents, giving them an elegant appearance as they stood beneath the bright lights.
-

Once on stage, the trio put on a powerful performance of the “Kuroshitsuji” (Black Butler) ending theme song, “Lacrimosa“, and inserted “Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa” before stopping for a short MC break.

“I’m speak English!” Keiko said cutely to the crowd, smiling brightly as she read off a sheet of paper. “Coming to Los Angeles was my dream, so I’m very excited. Please enjoy our show tonight!”

Hikaru also chose to speak in English during the short speech she gave for the audience. “Hi, I’m Hikaru,” she said sweetly, earning an hearty cheer from the fans on the floor. “I’m very happy to see everyone tonight, and I hope we have fun together.”

Kalafina then dove into a strong performance of their songs “storia” and the “Kara no Kyokai” theme song “fairytale“, before moving onto “oblivious“, causing the audience to roar with applause every single time. During the performance, the fans began synchronized claps and glowstick-waving, putting smiles on the girls’ faces when they realized how excited their fans were to see them live in concert.
-

Afterwards, the trio paused for another energetic MC break. “I like drink, please!” said Wakana, making fans burst into laughter as Keiko ran to give her groupmate some water.

During this MC break, the girls talked about what they’d like to do while they were staying in the city of Los Angeles. “I want to go Hollywood and see the celebrity hand prints,” said Keiko to the crowd, to which Hikaru replied, “You wanna see Johnny Depp?” Once the audience had finished laughing, the girls continued their concert with their new song “Magia” – the ending theme song for the popular anime “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” – followed by “sprinter“, “Kyrie“, and “Ongaku“.
-
For the last song of the night, Kalafina slowed it down with the beautiful ballad, “I have a dream“, allowing each member’s voice to shine against the gorgeous backing track. After the song was over, the lights shut off and all three members stepped off stage. Fans immediately began a chant for an encore even before the trio had disappeared, and so – just a few minutes after the concert had “ended” – Kalafina returned to thunderous applause.

“Thank you so much, Anime Expo!” the group shouted to the crowd before performing their final song of the night, “Hikari no Senritsu” (opening theme to the anime, “Sora no Oto“). Fans kept the momentum going all the way to the end with an enthusiastic clap, which transformed into a thunderous round of applause when the song came to a close.

After thanking all their fans once again, Kalafina bowed, took a group picture with the audience, and then stepped off the Club Nokia stage for a final time.

Check out more pictures from the event in our photo gallery!

Kalafina holds a Q&A session with their fans at Anime Expo 2011!
On July 1st, Kalafina held a special Q&A panel to interact directly with their fans at Anime Expo 2011!

The line extended down the hallway, as fans waited for their badges to be scanned and enter the large room where the panel was being held. Once inside, the room was packed with cosplayers, press, and fans, all eager to get a closeup look at the group.

When Kalafina finally entered, the entire room broke into thunderous applause. A passionate “Daisuki!” (I love you!) even rang out as soon as the cheers quieted down a little, putting smiles on all three of the members’ faces.

-

Although Kalafina have been to the United States before – their first visit at Anime Boston in 2009 – this year’s Anime Expo marks the first time that the trio has visited Los Angeles. When asked what things they’d like to do while visiting the bustling city, member Keiko cheerfully responded, “I’ve heard that the Santa Monica Beach is really pretty. I’d also like to go to Disneyland.”

A lot of attention was focused on Kalafina’s music style, a mix of pop and neo-classical, which was produced by the prolific songwriter, Kajiura Yuki. “Kalafina’s music is all made by our producer Kajiura Yuki. It has a really big impact on us, so that’s our inspiration,” they said when asked what influenced their music. “We’d like to be true to that image.”

The girls also shared a few behind-the-scenes stories from recording and shooting. One fan asked for their favorite song from “Kara no Kyokai” - a series of movies which each featured a Kalafina song as its theme – to which Keiko replied, “Every one of them is special to us. But when we were recording ‘ARIA‘, I was so nervous about it that I was shaking.” She smiled as she held out her hands to demonstrate, earning a few chuckles from the crowd.

When asked which PV they enjoyed shooting the most, Wakana replied, “(I liked) all of the shoots for our songs’ PVs, but my favorite is our debut song. We were dressed in all white, and it felt so pure. I feel like white’s my color, so the PV was very ‘me’.” Keiko also pitched in, “I really like ‘Magia‘. In the PV, we have a really strong, ‘hard’ woman image, a very different image for Kalafina. I think ‘hard’ is good!”, a comment which threw the audience into a long fit of laughter.

Another fan asked Kalafina if they had any goals as a group, to which Keiko jokingly replied that she had no goals (resulting in giggles all around). The other members of Kalafina specified that they’d like to travel around the world to perform lives for their other international fans, and would like to visit the different countries and continents.

-

Before leaving, the girls of Kalafina surprised fans with a special contest: by answering trivia questions about the group, a few lucky fans would win tickets to one of their two autograph sessions. Another “raffle” was held at the very end of the event to hand out more tickets, giving fans the chance to personally greet each member as they signed their item of choice.

“There were so many people who came here to see the three of us, so we’re really happy,” said Kalafina at the end of their panel. “Please, come see us at our first live in L.A., which is at Club Nokia! We hope to see you again there!”

The group didn’t get to leave just yet, however, as the MC announced a special message to the crowd. Since member Hikaru would be turning twenty-four the day after their panel, the audience produced a movingly loud round of “happy birthday” in celebration.

Thanks for posting this!

DAMN, life is so unfair. Why couldn't I have been there, everything sounded so perfect and the girls probably sounded super cute speaking English. T___T

I wonder if they filmed the concert. Hoping they did and they'll put the performances on the album DVD like they did for Seventh Heaven.

Kalafina to release special book in celebration of their 3rd album

In commemoration of their upcoming third album “After Eden“, chamber pop trio Kalafina is preparing a special treat for their fans!

A currently untitled “Kalafina book” will be released at a later date, containing pictures of all three members, exclusive interviews, coverage of their spring tour, and commentary by the group’s producer Kajiura Yuki on all their songs.

Additionally, the sixth volume of “Lis Ani” – which was released on July 25th – contains a live report from their performance at the American anime convention, Anime Expo 2011.

mellody 27th July 2011 02:59 AM

Ok, so here's the Pre-Order link.

Limited Edition - http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SECL-1012
Regular Edition - http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SECL-1014

I consider this album with a 'normal' price, so doesn't contains many bonus, I guess.

But the DVD is worth buying, symphonia PV, and footage of Anime Expo.

Chiharo 27th July 2011 11:49 AM

I'd preorder the limited ed. right away if I knew that the pamphlet or anything on the album isn't going to contain anime pictures (like Seventh Heaven did). What do you guys think? Is the package going to be like SH's with anime pics in it or not?

mellody 27th July 2011 02:22 PM

I got some info regarding your question Chiharo.

If you check at CDJapan for Limited Edition for After Eden, the weight says (around) 300g. As a normal album with CD+DVD, usually it's just only 100-200g. One of my friend (which is diehard Kalafina fans) said that there's also a 40 page deluxe pamphlet bonus.

If you're wondering about the content, most of the fans said, the content will be some photoshoot from their visit to Anime Expo 2011 at LA. Because in recent blog post about Anime Expo, Hikaru says they visit lots of place for photoshoot, so it might be possible, since the DVD content is also live footage from their visit.

Also, Red Moon has a booklet too FYI.

So I think it's really worth buying. *pre-ordering*

Chiharo 27th July 2011 02:35 PM

^Thanks mellody. I think that if that's the case then I'm definitely pre-ordering the limited ver. Or maybe I should wait to see the covers...? Eh I don't know.

mellody 27th July 2011 02:38 PM

Well, as for covers, I kinda believe it would be great, Kagayaku Sora and Magia were so awesome, as well as seventh heaven and Red Moon, so I kinda believe.

Chiharo 27th July 2011 02:56 PM

Haha yeah, Kalafina never fails us with covers that's for sure. I think I'll preorder after all.

Ranma Matsuri 27th July 2011 07:57 PM

Oh sweet. So the Anime expo footage is up there. :D *sigh*

CHE.R.RY 27th July 2011 08:37 PM

Yeah they tend to have beautiful covers to fit their beautiful music :D!

mellody 28th July 2011 01:20 AM

Seems like the prediction about Kalafina will singing the OP or ED for Fate/Zero (Kajiura is working on the BGM) isn't true after all, but there's still no info about the tracklist yet.

I think they should promote this upcoming album better, since Magia is beating oblivious record in terms of sales, Kalafina is more popular than before I guess.

Chiharo 28th July 2011 07:43 PM

^yeah, and I have kind of higher expectations for this album to sell well. But we'll see.

So, I just wanted to stir the conversation in this thread seeing it's always getting forgotten. And to hell with it, we're getting a new album from them in 2 months. So why not talk a bit about their music?

You guys care to discuss which are your favorite/least favorite songs by them? I'm really curious to this. What about B-sides? Do you like them?

I'm asking this because I personally sometimes find them to be as good as actual A-sides. I love all of their B-sides but especially lirica, utsukushisa, Gloria, snow falling and sapphire. There's just something in those songs that I love to death and just keep them on repeat for hours. Even though I love all of their songs to death, my most favorite would be red moon, Hikari no Senritsu and Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa (among other favorites).

So what about you? Anyone?

Midori-chan 28th July 2011 08:16 PM

^ Yes, it's so sad that there is not a lot going on in this thread, because I personally LOVE Kalafina.
I have only discovered them a few months ago, but since then I'm addicted to their music.

Mhm...my favourite song? This is very difficult, because I LOVE most of them SO much, but I have to say Lacrimosa. I fell in love with this song from the first moment on and I can't get it out of my head anymore.
Kalafina's music really makes me feel like I'm walking in a fairytale.

Some other favourite songs of mine are: "fairytale", "serenato", "storia", "ARIA", "Magia", "progressive" and "Hikari no Senritsu" (among others!)! :heart
My favourite B-side is definitely "lirica"!

I'm also addicted to their PVs. Whenever I watch them stories start forming in the back of my mind and I just feel like sitting down and writing them all down!
And don't you dare asking me what my favourite MV is, because I LOVE them all and can't choose between them!! :yes

Wahhhh~~
I'm so looking forward to their new album! :love

milky_way 28th July 2011 11:54 PM

My favorite songs: red moon, ARIA, Ongaku, progressive, storia
Favorite b-sides: sapphire, adore, Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Iku, lirica

There's only a couple of their songs that I don't care for :)

mellody 29th July 2011 01:42 AM

I love discussing that, keep this thread alive until the new one then :)

If you ask about my favorite song, it's really hard for me to choose, I even can't decide.
I guess I go with Hikari no Senritsu for most favorite song, because simply it's really different from any other Kajiura works. I've been a fan of Kajiura since 2002, so listening to Kalafina is really fresh and enjoyable.

Maybe the rest are...
red moon, sprinter, ARIA, oblivious, Yami no Uta, love come down, Magia, and so on.
Basically I love their A-sides, but I think I don't really like progressive, storia, and Lacrimosa that much.

Perfect B-side is snow falling, no doubt about it.
Most of their B-sides is great as well, lirica, serenato, sapphire, utsukushisa, Gloria, adore...

If Kalafina music made you feel like walking in a fairytale, then I think Kajiura is succeeded with this group, because it's her goal from the beginning :D

adantatu2 29th July 2011 03:58 AM

Honestly i only hear their a-sides,
my favourites are Magia, Hikari no Senritsu and oblivious

*hearT_Place* 29th July 2011 04:03 AM

symphonia is getting a PV?! I think that just made my night! :D:D:D

Chiharo 29th July 2011 11:35 AM

Yeah, Kalafina definitely gives me the walking in fairytale feeling as well. Actually I've never listened to anything like them before, and Kajiura is also new for me because I only know about her because of Kalafina. And it's not just that fairytale feeling that I get from their songs, it's also because their songs are very emotional and just so damn beautiful. It really can't be put into words.

Oh and also, what do you guys think of the TV. ver of symphonia? I think it's absolutely beautiful and it kind of reminds me of adore in the chorus parts. I sooo can't wait fo the album.

On a side note, I wonder if Kagayaku's and Magia's PVs will be included in the album's DVD?

mellody 29th July 2011 08:00 PM

symphonia TV ver. is amazing, the full version should be much better.

I think we only get symphonia PV and Anime Expo live footage. Just like their two previous albums, no PV from the singles included.

Chiharo 29th July 2011 08:42 PM

^Oh, I see. That's too bad then but I don't mind that much ^^ I really can't wait to see how the covers are going to look like. Or for the tracklist.

I agree 100% :yes. They're music is just incredible.

I love basically all of their singles & their first album was a masterpiece. I loved Red Moon as well but it was not as good imo. I have really high hopes for after eden.

@Cherry: For me it's the other way around. I like "Red Moon" a bit more than "Seventh Heaven"! :yes
But I still love both of the albums like crazy! :heart

I can't wait for "After Eden"!

Chiharo 29th July 2011 10:43 PM

I love Red Moon more than Seventh Heaven as well. While I love all of the songs from both, I think what I like more about Red Moon is its theme and overall atmosphere of the album. Or it just might be I like Red Moon more because it's the first album I heard from them. But I think that both Seventh Heaven and Red Moon were incredible masterpieces. Definitely two of my most favorite albums ever.

I'm so glad I found out about them and gave them a listen. Their music changed my whole perspective of music generally.

Ranma Matsuri 29th July 2011 10:56 PM

I preferred Red Moon as it had more stand out tracks but I think Seventh Heaven was overall the more cohesive album (Not that RM didn't flow well but I think SH did it better). They're are both excellent though. :yes

Favorite Singles would be: sprinter/ARIA, Hikari no Senritsu, storia, fairytale

Favorite Album Tracks: Red Moon, Love Come Down, Yami no Uta, Mata Kaze ga Tsuyoku natta, and Hoshi no Utai

Favorite B-sides: Gloria, snow falling, lirica

Oh and it's been a long time coming but since we're FINALLY approaching the end of the thread: I call dibs on making the second thread! :D

» Kuya • 29th July 2011 11:23 PM

I 100% agree with Chiharo too, Kalafina has really something special. Something different from other groups, something magic!

Speaking of favourite songs, mine would totally be Kyrie, followed by Ongaku, sprinter, Lacrimosa, red moon and storia. As for b-sides I would definitely pick Gloria, adore and lirica :)

mellody 30th July 2011 02:42 AM

I feel like seventh heaven < Red Moon
Maybe because the songs in Red Moon are more superior than seventh heaven I think, though the flow / song transitions for Red Moon is kinda weird.

Then again, most of seventh heaven tracks is to serve one purpose: Kara no Kyoukai, so, seventh heaven doesn't have much variation, compared to Red Moon, which has more genres.

I'm interested to make it too actually :P
Anyway, in the new thread I think we should mix all of Kajiura project, such as FictionJunction, her solo works, or anything related to her, because they are one.

Yoake 30th July 2011 05:14 PM

I love how the thread seems to be alive again after the new album annoucement.

It's like after eden, fans grow in number XD

Ranma Matsuri 2nd August 2011 09:23 AM

@mellody: Agreed. I don't think Yuki has her own thread here and most who are Kalafina fans are also fans of her work anyway. Kinda like the KOTOKO + I've Sound thread, it'll still be a Kalafina thread just with the other Kajiura acts added as well. :yes

Any suggestions for the new thread's title? I'd love something in reference to 'after eden' since it's such beautiful title.

*Kalafina are dreaming/telling a fairytale in After Eden
*There is a Red Moon rising in After Eden
*They're singing a serenato in After Eden

Some lame titles I came up with! :rolleyes Feel free not to use!!

mellody 2nd August 2011 05:25 PM

Ok, so while thinking a new name for new thread, we got some news.

On the topic of the 3rd album release commemoration book, the details have been revealed, It'll be entitled "Kalafina Record" & released on 2 different offers. The first offer is regular edition (only the book) & the second one is the limited edition with the book having hard-cover binding and additional official T-shirts.

lol at least you're trying, thanks. :)

Some ones I've come up with:

'After Eden, the snow is falling in Kalafina's Second Thread'

'After Eden, their destination is unknown (The Kalafina Thread Part II)'

'The Sandpiper's symphonia is neverending in The Second Kalafina Thread'

Midori-chan 4th August 2011 07:13 PM

The tracklist for "After Eden" sounds really interesting! I'm happy that "Magia" is on it (it's such an AWESOME song! :heart).

Now I'm looking forward to the covers! :yes

milky_way 4th August 2011 09:59 PM

I'm excited to hear sandpiper. Sounds like it might be mysterious~ :yes

btw, this wouldn't be the first time something like this happens in the kajiverse, just go back to Parallel Hearts single and the last FJYUUKA song till the moment, "Hitomi no Chikara".

^Random but gorgeous image. :luv2 And thanks for the translations, the tracklist is actually IS lovelier now~ lol

So they're going to be at JCB Hall again? Maybe since they're a little more popular, the production budget will be higher. If there's a DVD for this one I just hope it's better made than Red Moon's. Great concert but the packaging was cheap and terrible, didn't match the beauty of the girls and their music AT ALL. D:

I'm making the new thread tomorrow (or for me, later today). So last chance to come up with a title. :P

CHE.R.RY 7th August 2011 03:25 PM

I know this is a little OT but can anyone point out who is who in the group for me? :thud

mellody 7th August 2011 03:38 PM

Did you mean from the photo above?

Left - Hikaru | Center - Keiko | Wakana - Right

Can't wait for Ranma new thread :P

CHE.R.RY 7th August 2011 07:58 PM

^ Yeah that helps thanx :). I know all their voices so well but it's just I didn't know what name went with what face lol.

Yoake 7th August 2011 08:18 PM

Nice to see a new live already!
