The censoring for Whips and Chains makes it sound worse lol. Like as if she's saying naughty body parts or something. Too bad.

Reggie Yates on BBC Radio 1 even called it "Come On" instead of S&M. Like, what? Also, Rihanna hit out about the subject on twitter:

rihanna Rihanna
"Are you ****ing kidding me??? I'm on it! #likeWTF RT @RoBIZZ13: Wtf , why is @Rihanna's S&M called " Come on " now ? That's BS !"

and who is the figure of it all. (weird to phrase that) when ayu makes a song none of us really like do we say "omg ayu why did you make this song?" or do we blame her producers and composers? lol

koumori 16th February 2011 06:27 PM

^ Very true.

But I guess if Rihanna gets sued, she'll have her director involved in the lawsuit as well. (...obviously..:laugh) But idk, only two scenes looked dead-on similar too me. If that's enough for him to win, I have no idea. I would of called it artistic inspiration though and took it as a huge compliment. But then, I'm no celebrity and the photographer is.

Is a guess a guess a guess

People usually blame the artist not the directors

Kingdom 17th February 2011 02:08 AM

This lawsuit won't really affect her, kind of how Hyori was "sued"

It's going to be moreso on her company and the director of the video. If it even makes it to court that is.

Cheryl Cole has revealed she and Rihanna could work together on a new single.

During an interview backstage at the Brit Awards on Tuesday night, the X Factor star said she and Rihanna had talked about releasing a record together.

Talking about the Bajan singer’s performance at the ceremony, Cole said: ‘Rihanna was smoking hot. I love Rihanna. She was probably my performance highlight.'

‘I love her. I would love to do a performance with her and do a single with her. I would love to do a record with her. She feels the same.

‘There could be wheels, there could be motions.’

During the awards at the O2 Arena, Cole was caught giving Rihanna a cheeky pat on her bottom as she awarded her ‘girl crush’ with her gong.

As she presented the award, the Parachute singer said: ‘And the winner of the Best International Female solo artist is, my girl crush, what’s her name? Rihanna.’

I was surprised by that too so I looked at what else was in the top 10 and I wasn't wondering why anymore; all of the songs that were in the Top 10 around that month were crazy huge all at the same time (Gnarls Barkley's Crazy, Shakira's Hips Don't Lie, Cassie's Me & U, Chamillionaire's Ridin', Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous, The Fray's Over my head, etc).

I think it's great choice. I would have slightly preferred Fading, but it's better than Cheers (Drink to That).

Kingdom 14th March 2011 05:08 AM

I wanted Fading too... but hopefully she'll release it after CKB.

She still doesn't know whether to release Cheers, Fading or Man down next.

NintendoHTF1242 14th March 2011 05:52 AM

Fading is very radio friendly, in my opinion.

Cheers (Drink to That) drags on a bit, in my opinion...I can imagine hearing it on the radio, but it's just a draggy song.

Man Down, no way man. It's too "reggae" lol. People might not like it because it's not ~mainstream~. It's an awesome song though...But I can't imagine hearing it on the radio.

Kingdom 14th March 2011 07:22 AM

Kingdom 15th March 2011 05:15 AM

In the April issue of Vogue Magazine, director Peter Berg chatted with the magazine about Rihanna who stars in his upcoming Battleship movie and reveals the singer isn’t as tough as she seems.
The director says he picked Rihanna for the role of naval officer Cora Raikes because he was looking for an actress who could play “tough, urban, scrappy, funny” and for some reason the singer popped into his head.

He said once he meet the singer whose video persona intrigued him, he was amazed to find out that RiRi wasn’t such a badass after all.
He says, "When you meet her there’s absolutely no resemblance to that sexy superdiva that you see in the videos. It’s a complete act, in my opinion. I am not saying she’s not a very sexy girl, but there’s so much more to her than that. She is clearly playing around with a character.”

And what made him decide to give the role to Rihanna? Well it was last year’s hilarious Saturday Night Live “Shy Ronnie” skit which wowed the director. “Rihanna has a very strong presence – people are going to be surprised. Let’s put it this way: She kicks ass. She had to get into an eighteen-foot inflatable raft and sit behind a machine gun for six hours at a time in seven-foot swells.”

The director added, “We had rescue swimmers on Jet Skis and armed shark spotters because there were quite a few sharks out there.”
And how did Rihanna feel about the experience? Well the singer says she enjoyed every minute of filming the tough action sequences!
"There were all these people, cameras, and huge cranes out in the middle of the ocean and I got to do some stunts which was incredible. I loved it – especially diving into the ocean.” source

Last night Rihanna emerged from the same restaurant as Colin Farrell who she is rumoured to be in a close friendship with.

The pair did not want to be photographed together so came out of Santa Monica eatery Giorgio Baldi separately.

Rihanna looked demure, by her standards, in black cropped trousers and a silver blouse.

Her curly red hair made sure she was noticed though as she exited the Italian restaurant.

Farrell meanwhile, looked rather sheepish as he made a quick dash out wearing jeans and a black T-shirt.

It has been reported in recent weeks that the pair have been sending flirty text messages to each other.

The Sun claims that Farrell, 34 has 'worked his charms on Rihanna to such an extent she hasn't stopped texting him', since they swapped numbers earlier this year when they both appeared on The Graham Norton Show in the UK.

A source told the paper: 'Colin was taken aback by some of the texts. He reckons he might well be in there. They're both single, so why not?'

It is also rumoured that he will be introducing the 23-year-old to his two sons, James, seven and 18-month-old Henry, while she is in LA.
GOOD for her if they are getting it on, he's a hottie and I've seen his sex tape. Can you say giddy up rudeboy?

Sounds pretty much the same when she performed S&M at Brit Awards 2011 few months ago. I wondered what she was doing but maybe S&M is just a pretty hard song to be sung live. :/

And as for me, I really love this girl. Her music is awesome. I really started loving her in 2007 when Umbrella was released. ^It better be! We haven't had a slow single since Russian Roulette so everyone better eat it up.

Past two albums it's gone (in the US at least):
Russian Roulette (depressing, slow song [balladish?]), Hard (hiphop), Rude Boy (dancehall-reggae), Rockstar 101 (...rock), Only Girl (Europop dance), What's My Name? (midtempo R&B), S&M (Europop dance) and fiiiinallllyyy a ballad <3 I love Rihanna ballads. Rehab is actually my most played song by her.

I can imagine the MV being similar to the album shoot. Can't wait.

I went ahead & made the next thread, because this one needed an upgrade.
