The censoring for Whips and Chains makes it sound worse lol. Like as if she's saying naughty body parts or something. Too bad.
|
Reggie Yates on BBC Radio 1 even called it "Come On" instead of S&M. Like, what? Also, Rihanna hit out about the subject on twitter:
rihanna Rihanna "Are you ****ing kidding me??? I'm on it! #likeWTF RT @RoBIZZ13: Wtf , why is @Rihanna's S&M called " Come on " now ? That's BS !" |
Best Dance Recording – 'Only Girl (In The World)' – Win!

the censored version of the songs makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

Rihanna sued by famed fashion photographer David LaChapelle over 'copycat' S&M video

YUHUUU congratz riri

Sued eeeek

^ gorgeous!! :heart love it... :yes

My favorite photographer ever!!!!!! :thud |
Shouldn't the photographer sue the director instead lol
|
You gotta sue the one with the most money
|
Quote:
|
^ Very true.
But I guess if Rihanna gets sued, she'll have her director involved in the lawsuit as well. (...obviously..:laugh) But idk, only two scenes looked dead-on similar too me. If that's enough for him to win, I have no idea. I would of called it artistic inspiration though and took it as a huge compliment. But then, I'm no celebrity and the photographer is. |
Quote:
I would guess Rihanna would be the one with the most money. Is a guess a guess a guess People usually blame the artist not the directors |
This lawsuit won't really affect her, kind of how Hyori was "sued"
It's going to be moreso on her company and the director of the video. If it even makes it to court that is. |
I think I respect LaChapelle a thousand times more now :yes
Someone's gotta teach them hoes out there Sex sells we get it, but it also sues you |
Quote:
I'm the only girl in the world!!! so cute :love |
I'm not shutting up, I love Rihanna and she's a hoe just like most of the top female artists out there, including kuu, get over it
|
oh my gawd O.O
|
Quote:
|
I just don't want people to think that because I call someone a "hoe" it has to be a bad thing. But what is she really pretending to be in the S&M videoclip anyway? A dominatrix mistress obviously, so yeah...
I love Rihanna, I buy her albums, and all that stuff. And I admire LaChapelle's works from the 90s specifically, so if he's a fail nowadays idgaf, but I don't think he is anyway. |

now ladies and gentlemen, back to the wonderful thread of RIcHanna who is making more money and winning more prestigious music awards than your favorite artist. http://i52.tinypic.com/nlygc7.jpg Cheryl Cole has revealed she and Rihanna could work together on a new single. During an interview backstage at the Brit Awards on Tuesday night, the X Factor star said she and Rihanna had talked about releasing a record together. Talking about the Bajan singer’s performance at the ceremony, Cole said: ‘Rihanna was smoking hot. I love Rihanna. She was probably my performance highlight.' ‘I love her. I would love to do a performance with her and do a single with her. I would love to do a record with her. She feels the same. ‘There could be wheels, there could be motions.’ During the awards at the O2 Arena, Cole was caught giving Rihanna a cheeky pat on her bottom as she awarded her ‘girl crush’ with her gong. As she presented the award, the Parachute singer said: ‘And the winner of the Best International Female solo artist is, my girl crush, what’s her name? Rihanna.’ |
Rihanna and Cheryl Cole together FANTASTIC that would be awesome, I hope they do a song together.

plus they are so hot <3 |
Cheryl Cole say what
Oh no no |
Rihanna’s “S&M” vaults into Billboard’s Hot 100′s top 10 (33-8) as the chart’s Digital Gainer for a second consecutive week, rocketing 20-7 on Digital Songs (145,000, up 93%). The song concurrently charges 57-37 on Radio Songs (30 million, up 33%). “S&M” is Rihanna’s 18th top 10 hit in the United States! She’s just behind (females only) Madonna (37), Mariah Carey (27), Janet Jackson (23) and Whitney Houston (23).
Here’s a list of Rihanna’s top 10 entries in the US: Pon De Replay (#2); SOS (#1); Unfaithful (#6); Break It Off (#9); Umbrella (#1); Hate That I Love You (#7); Don’t Stop The Music (#3); Take A Bow (#1); Disturbia (#1); Live Your Life (#1); Run This Town (#2); Russian Roulette (#9); Hard (#8); Rude Boy (#1); Love The Way You Lie (#1); Only Girl (#1); What’s My Name (#1); S&M (#8) |

That took me back to when I was 14, wow. |
woa yea, you brought some memories back.. I remember when SOS was playing on TV.. it was SUCH a hot summer and I was watching the PV with my then-girlfriend (*cough cough*) and I disliked Rihanna at that time because she was too mainstream (I was against all mainstream thing back then..)
so yeah.. here I am now, owning every album from her haha |
I didn't care for her at all when she debuted. With A Girl Like Me I started warming up to her singles and I've loved almost everything from Good Girl Gone Bad and on.
|
I got into her with pon de replay. I don't remember if that was her first single or not. but that's when I started listening to her.

looks like the UK has their own idea of the queen of pop... with three hit singles from LOUD, the album still charting, SOLD OUT tour dates, & 9 shows at London's O2 ARENA.
she's so big right now, I'm happy for her. Quote:
|
I wish they'd chosen another cover for Music of the Sun.. Her eyes are REALLY weird on it :/
|
|
wow omg she looks stunning!!
She's performing in Perth, Western Australia tonight... Where I used to live :( I didn't get a chance to see her live... Oh well :/ |
holy woah
|
New single MV filming in late March~
|
Which Vogue is that?
Should be British right? The current American Vogue is the one with Gaga on the cover. But I don't see "British" in the O as usual. Is the April issue of American Vorgue? |
^ American, it's for April.
|
It looks...weird lol. I like her hair though.
|
her expression isn't that great...but the pose and her hair are gorgeous <3 And the dress.
And hey! Gaga's cover is awesome :P |
The hair is to much the pose looks, blah, and she looks drudged... But i guess since she is the only girl in the world, it works

I hope NOT Cheers. |
It's California King Bed.

I think it's great choice. I would have slightly preferred Fading, but it's better than Cheers (Drink to That).
|
I wanted Fading too... but hopefully she'll release it after CKB.
She still doesn't know whether to release Cheers, Fading or Man down next. |
Fading is very radio friendly, in my opinion.
Cheers (Drink to That) drags on a bit, in my opinion...I can imagine hearing it on the radio, but it's just a draggy song. Man Down, no way man. It's too "reggae" lol. People might not like it because it's not ~mainstream~. It's an awesome song though...But I can't imagine hearing it on the radio. |
I agree with your choices too, but she's personally leaning towards Man Down because a lot of her fans chose it on twitter =/
|
Oh really? That's actually quite interesting...If she does release it, I wonder how it will fare on the charts.
|
California King Bed <3
I love Man Down and Fading, personally at this point any songs except Cheers would make a good single. |
Quote:
|
Yeah the choices were CKB, Cheers, Man down. Man down is the only song I can't tolerate from the album, and Cheers is great but not good enough to be a single IMO, so I'm glad with California~ Video should be beautiful.
[Wait, was Fading an option too on Twitter? I think I would've loved that more but meh it's ok :3] |
In the April issue of Vogue Magazine, director Peter Berg chatted with the magazine about Rihanna who stars in his upcoming Battleship movie and reveals the singer isn’t as tough as she seems.
The director says he picked Rihanna for the role of naval officer Cora Raikes because he was looking for an actress who could play “tough, urban, scrappy, funny” and for some reason the singer popped into his head. He said once he meet the singer whose video persona intrigued him, he was amazed to find out that RiRi wasn’t such a badass after all. He says, "When you meet her there’s absolutely no resemblance to that sexy superdiva that you see in the videos. It’s a complete act, in my opinion. I am not saying she’s not a very sexy girl, but there’s so much more to her than that. She is clearly playing around with a character.” And what made him decide to give the role to Rihanna? Well it was last year’s hilarious Saturday Night Live “Shy Ronnie” skit which wowed the director. “Rihanna has a very strong presence – people are going to be surprised. Let’s put it this way: She kicks ass. She had to get into an eighteen-foot inflatable raft and sit behind a machine gun for six hours at a time in seven-foot swells.” The director added, “We had rescue swimmers on Jet Skis and armed shark spotters because there were quite a few sharks out there.” And how did Rihanna feel about the experience? Well the singer says she enjoyed every minute of filming the tough action sequences! "There were all these people, cameras, and huge cranes out in the middle of the ocean and I got to do some stunts which was incredible. I loved it – especially diving into the ocean.” source |
Guess who's getting it on?? FOR REAL and stuff.

upgrade from Douche Brown too. |
Hey Kingdom, I was wondering if you could take a picture of your physical copy of Loud that's explicit? I'm starting to believe none of these explicit versions were made because I just could not find any!
|
I just saw that VOGUE cover she looks like jessica rabbit
alot of people are dying their hair red because of rihanna and guys are dying their hair blonde because of chris brown I'm like yeah no, you're not rocking it |
That'd be one hot couple.
|
omg guys. I might be going to Rihanna's concert in June when it comes here. Omg. I'm gonna cry. I love her so much right now, and this will be my first concert ever omg LOL <3 Gonna bawl tears of joy in the corner for a bit.
|
^lol. I remember my first concert. Britney Spears tour: Dream within a dream 2002. I also remember my second concert. Utada: In The Flesh 2009. I've only ever been to 2 concerts in my life. haha Hopefully my 3rd concert will be Yelle when she tours in NYC.
|
S&M climbed it's way to #2. I'm afraid it won't eventually reach #1 because of Katy's new single but hey, Only Girl surprised everyone.
|
i saw her live and she looks like having a problem with her voice
|
I am seeing Rihanna July 16th! This will be my third time! So excited.

I've been really busy IRL & I'm waiting on my new laptop before I get back into forum'ing. Plus Kuu news has been slow lately so there's no reason for me to hang around here!

And as for me, I really love this girl. Her music is awesome. I really started loving her in 2007 when Umbrella was released. It was so amazing and original that I couldn't help but worship it to the heavens. Ever since I've loved every single she has released. Amazing stuff. And I used to hate her music from the bottom of my heart. Shame on me. :D |
Quote:
And yes please. I just have to see it to believe it xDD And does it come with the piano version of Love the Way You Lie, Part II?? Or is it just the standard 11 track? |
No, it stops at track 11 and I had to download the bonus track online. but, the bonus track doesn't have cussing in it anyway so it didn't matter if it was censored or not to me. :laugh
|
Did anyone got the S&M (Remix) feat. Britney Spears?
I am okay with the song. It can be better if Britney does not sing "Oh Oh Oh". |
It can be better if she left it alone.

I found brit's sigh made the song more sensual.

^I agree, computer generated pouts are highly arousing.
I can't wait for California King Bed MV. I'm trying really really hard to forget about this 'remix'. |
She sounds good live :D and I love this song. it's so sweet and sad... reminds me of my exboyfriend towards the end of our relationshit. |
Looks like we're gonna have ourselves another radio hit! <3
|
^It better be! We haven't had a slow single since Russian Roulette so everyone better eat it up.
Past two albums it's gone (in the US at least): Russian Roulette (depressing, slow song [balladish?]), Hard (hiphop), Rude Boy (dancehall-reggae), Rockstar 101 (...rock), Only Girl (Europop dance), What's My Name? (midtempo R&B), S&M (Europop dance) and fiiiinallllyyy a ballad <3 I love Rihanna ballads. Rehab is actually my most played song by her. I can imagine the MV being similar to the album shoot. Can't wait. |
^te amo?

Got goosebumps watching this live though I didn't like the sng that much til now! :heart
